Chapter 238
______
Daciana's POV.
I was one with the world, feeling the different life forces of every living thing around me. The air was soothing, and the birds kept chirping.
My chest was heavily burdened, and I wasn't even sure of what I was doing at the moment.
Subsequently, I appeared out of thin air, with Dorian still trapped in the ice. My eyes were weak, and I looked to have lost every bit of energy inside me.
I just lost control and I wasn't confident that I would ever be able to save myself.
Suddenly, out of the blue, I heard some familiar voices. I looked up and surprisingly I saw Ana and the head maid.
How was this possible? I thought, and my head began to throb. My eyes were becoming heavy, but seeing Bryan up ahead in Ana's arms was earning me a cling to reality.
I didn't realize I was able to teleport, but I did today, and now I appeared just a few feet from my son. For a brief moment, my sadness was replaced with a smile and I triumphantly wanted to hold him tight already but my body wasn't stable for that.
"Daciana? What happened?" Ana reached where I was, and she asked, but I couldn't answer. What I did was just roll my eyes at her before passing out.
…_______
I didn't know how long it took, but I woke up. My eyes squinted at the ceiling, and it looked so old, different from where I used to know. Quickly I jumped up and began to scout the surroundings with my eyes.
The place looked like a hut and there was a fire at the far end. Fewer accompaniments were in the room. What I could see was a bed, a large one and another by the side, then there were little foodstuffs than the fire.
I kept spinning around in circles and my head began to throb again, and I fell to the floor. My fall must have created a sound because extensively someone ran inside the hut.
"Daciana you have woken up?" A voice muttered at me, but I was yet to see whose face it was. My sight was yet to adjust due to the immense pain I was going through.
"Ana?" I uttered after a few whiles, after which the pain had subsided but it was still nibbling me inside.
"Ooh thank God, after twenty years you finally woke up?" Ana replied and fell into my arms, hugging me tighter almost to the point in which I got suffocated.
I ignored what she said, what kept pondering inside my head was what she said. Twenty years? How the hell was I asleep for that long?
"Why was I asleep for that long?" I asked, shocked and curiosity gripped me whole.
Ana's face darkened shortly after, and I anticipated there must be a problem at hand.
I felt sadder than how I was, but I wanted to hear what she had to say.
"There's poison in your body, and it's spreading fast. I am not sure if you would last this long but even if you have, I can't guarantee whether you will last a few days or hours" Ana explained, and I felt a pain shoot deep inside my chest. Tears formed in my eyes and I wanted to leash them down my cheeks, but I held them deep down after feeling another presence by the door.
I saw a silhouette of someone, a talk mature figure, and it was unmoving by the door. A piece of silk was covering the entrance, so I couldn't properly see who it was, but my mind told me who it might be.
"Bryan?" I called out, still doubting my senses.
Silence followed, but right after the cotton was swayed by the side and a manly figure walked it.
He was so tall and looked so young, I thought it was Dorian, but after seeing the blue eyes and blond hair, I was able to tell this was my son.
Upon seeing me, tears uncountable began to drip down his cheeks, making my heart melt.
"Come say hello to your mom," Ana said to him and he walked forward.
Our eyes were locked on each other and I felt as though time froze.
If I didn't believe what Ana said before, then I should now, twenty years have passed and there was proof.
My son who was a baby in my arms was now a fully grown man. At first, I thought he wouldn't harbor such feelings for me as I wasn't awake throughout his childhood, but I was wrong. The tears falling down his cheeks signified all that.
"Mom" he called out to me and I melted. My body turned cold and the tears I was trying so hard to hide came running down my cheeks.
"My son" I replied and stood up to his height. I dragged him closer and hugged him tighter. I didn't care if I was suffocating him, but the fact that I was so happy to see him made me forget that.
His body was warm, and I felt calm in his arms. We strutted at that moment and were locked in our sorrows.
"I'm sorry, Bryan. Sorry for not seeing through your childhood. I apologize for not being a mother to you when you needed me the most" I crumbled more into his arms.
He was silent and I became more worried. Hesitatingly, I retracted myself backward and looked into his eyes.
They looked cold and anger was burning inside them.
"Bryan?" I called out softly, but it took him a while before he was able to come back to reality.
"They will pay for what they did to you mom, they all will," he said and another set of tears unfolded down his cheeks.
He cried and cried and fell into my arms.
Drenched in sadness, I held on to him knowing fully well that he knew all about what happened.
I also knew he was entitled to know, so I won't judge who revealed everything to him.
