Cold Face
Cold Face
Derik charged at his enemy, using the demon's own severed arm as a weapon against him.
Lord Demon, with one less wing and one less arm, had little balance and fell to the ground. Derik held one of the enemy's feet and the beast smiled, Machiavellian.
— If I rip off your legs, I'll make access easier!
Making his words action, using the strength of his muscles, he ripped off one of the demon's legs, who howled in pain, screaming for one of his men to help him, but the other demons were busy in their own battles.
— Alpha! He is one of them, Luna recognized him! — Adanir shouted, alerting the Alpha to whom he was dealing with.
Derik picked up the demon's arm and knelt before him, the crazed beast never stopped smiling. The desperate, anguished scream of the demon echoed through the territory, drawing the attention of his subjects, as he felt his own arm penetrate his anus all at once.
The Alpha did not just want to defeat and kill his enemy, he wanted to humiliate him and return to him in action all the threats he had made to the Luna.
The demons who were still alive fell to their knees and surrendered. Satisfied with his artwork, Derik threw the arm away. The demon's limb did not reach the ground, but almost hit a newcomer squarely on the head.
— You shouldn't throw your trash at your allies, Alpha Derik!— The visitor looked at the leg expressionlessly before throwing it on the ground and wiping his hands on his pants.
— Ares? What are you doing here? Besides, how long have you been here?
The beast gave way to human form and Derik went to his Luna. The circle of Gammas opened for him to enter, and Adanir handed Nadja into Derik's arms. She was sleeping peacefully.
— I arrived a few minutes ago, I didn't want to interrupt...— He shrugged. — How is your female?
— She's fine, but not thanks to you! I can't believe you were here and didn't help, Ares!
— You didn't seem to need my help when I arrived.
— You still haven't told me what you came here for... — Derik insisted.
Derik walked towards Ares, on the way he kicked a dying traitor wolf and its head rolled across the grass.
— I came to bring the invitation for the naming of my newborn pup.
— Oh, congratulations, Alpha Ares. How is my dear Luna Esmeralda? — Derik offered a cynical smile, a small revenge against Ares.
— Your female is in your arms, Alpha Derik, have some respect!
— Of course, of course! My Luna knows that Esmeralda is like my sister. Now, seriously, Ares, you didn't just come to bring an invitation with a whole battalion, coincidentally at the same time I had to face a riot!
— Coincidences happen...
Derik laughed loudly and motioned for Ares to follow him.
— Do you have spies in my lands? — Derik asked as he entered his mansion.
Before leaving the patio, he ordered the Beta and the gamma to organize the pack and announce a meeting in the valley at sunset.
— It wasn't hard to see that you were in trouble with a horde of demons flying over your lands. — Ares ignored Derik's question, as he would never admit that he had spies in ALL packs.
— And you ran to help me, how cute, Ares!
Derik smiled, mocking, and Ares, with his expressionless face, simply shrugged before continuing.
— I hate to admit it, but Esmeralda would be sad if you died, I don't like to see her sad!
I was naked, wounded, filthy, stinking, with my Luna unconscious, naked and wounded in my arms, walking quickly to my room, and Ares, the most clueless Alpha in existence, was following me through the corridors as if nothing had happened.
Outside, the chaos was contained, the wounded taken to the hut of the… Agar, where his apprentices would do their work.
I still can't believe he died, all because of that retarded Hira. At what point did she get lost? What was she thinking to do everything she did? Greed, alone, didn't explain anything! It was madness. Some people go crazy when they lose their mates, although she hadn't been marked yet when my previous beta died.
There must have been something wrong with her character before she became a lone wolf due to the loss of her mate. Vivi was already marked and didn't go crazy because of it.
I won't spend any more time trying to understand the actions of a misguided witch who enchanted her own pup to kill his father.
I stopped in front of my office door and looked back. Ares also stopped with his "iceberg" face.
— Stay there and wait for me to take my Luna to my den, but don't get too comfortable.
Ares remained standing, looking at me:
— You can come in, we're a big family now, remember? I'm your pup's daddy!
The Alpha's face remained expressionless, but I could hear his wolf's low growl.
— Godfather!— He said, blinking once in the middle of the word.
— What? — I questioned, not understanding what he said.
— It's godfather, not daddy! We need to talk about this, by the way.
Well, it doesn't matter what he intends to talk about, I won't go back on this daddy, godfather, whatever thing!
— Hm...Okay...Are you hungry? — He nodded. — Do you want something to eat?v He repeated the gesture. — I'll send someone to get my Beta to bring you a meal and keep you company...
—No!— He growled, monosyllabic.
—No?
No what, exactly? He didn't want food, after all? But he just said he was hungry!
— No need, I don't like Betas.
— Oh, alright. I'll send someone else to bring you a meal, and I'll be back as soon as I can.
He shrugged and opened the office door.
—Take your time!
He went in and closed the door in my face. I don't know what Esmeralda saw in this Alpha, but at least he doesn't care that I'll take a while.
With all this, my Luna continued to sleep peacefully in my lap.
