Chapter 14
Chapter 14
Two weeks later.
The Pack was in better shape after the heavy rains a short while ago. The werewolf people returned to their usual activities, and some werewolves headed to the city to exchange goods.
Lisa was playing with her cell phone, and she forgot that there was no signal in the middle of the forest. It was useless to have a cell phone, but it couldn't be used for the internet. Lisa's teacher had contacted her to ask if she could take the exam to pass and continue in college. There was no way Lisa would stay here and do nothing because it was so boring. Lisa put some of her books into her bag. She was going to school now to take the exam.
"Can I drop you off?" asked Lucanne.
"Don't you have a job here?"
"No."
"Okay, you can wait for me outside the school."
Lucanne was happy that Lisa allowed her to take her to school. They left the Pack together and walked through the forest on foot. Lucanne saw that Lisa felt bad for having to walk so far so early in the morning.
"Want me to carry you? I can run as fast as possible so you don't tire," Lucanne said.
"You can do that? Why didn't you say so earlier? Let's carry me!" Lisa said, climbing onto Lucanne's back.
Lisa's body was very light for Lucanne. The man easily carried her and ran out of the forest. Sure enough, they reached the school in less than a minute, leaving Lisa amazed that a werewolf could run that fast.
"Cool! No need to take a car to get there fast," Lisa said.
"That's very easy to do. I'll wait behind the school building until you're done," Lucanne replied.
"Thank you. I'm going inside the school first. Bye!"
Lucanne saw that Lisa was getting farther away, so she chose to wait in the forest. There was no sign of war after she married an elf, but she had prepared everything in case there was one. The other alpha, who was after Lisa, had yet to be seen since they last met at the cafe, but Lucanne was sure that Moreno was preparing a plan to take Lisa away from her.
"Lucanne!" shouted Lisa from her classroom.
Lucanne looked up, and in the window was Lisa waving to her; even some of her friends were surprised to see Lucanne's handsome face.
"Lisa, is he really your sugar daddy?"
"He's not just a sugar daddy; he's my husband," Lisa said.
"Is he rich? Where's his car? Is his house big?"
Lisa smiled. "Secret, you'll fall in love with him. Lucanne is a good guy and is always there for me. Oh yeah, after school, I'll treat you to a hamburger. Do you want one?"
"Okay, we will."
After school, as Lisa had promised her friends, they went together to a chicken and hamburger restaurant. Lucanne had to go even though she said she didn't want to, but Lisa forced her to. Just imagine an alpha who has killed many of her enemies must submit to Lisa, and surprisingly, Lucanne always does what Lisa says.
"Come on, guys! You can order the food and drinks you want," Lisa said.
"Okay, we'll order a lot of food, but can you pay for it?"
"I won't pay, Lucanne will. Right, Lucanne?" asked Lisa.
"Yes," replied Lucanne.
Meanwhile, at the Pack, Mark and Sean were on duty guarding the Pack at the security post. Since Lucanne found his mate, they felt the alpha had changed, especially Mark, who was afraid that his clan would be destroyed if Lucanne let his guard down.
"The alpha is in love, so we must tolerate it," Sean said.
"It shouldn't be like this; an alpha should have boundaries," Mark replied.
"We can't interfere with his love affairs; we are tasked with serving him and this clan," said Sean.
Mark was just silent; suddenly, he saw a girl confused, looking for a way out, and the girl entered the werewolf area. Mark approached her and made an angry face; the girl was scared but still stood not far from Mark.
"This is a forbidden forest; why are you here?" Mark asked.
"I got lost. I was chased by some wolves, and I think I ran too far," the girl replied.
"You can walk north, and you will find your way," said Mark.
"I'm still scared of the wolves that were chasing me; it's like they want to eat me," the girl replied.
"Mark, you can take the girl," said Sean.
Mark looked at Sean with a sharp gaze. "Since when does a gamma dare to send a beta?"
Sean stood up. "I forgot that I have something to do. Good luck!"
That's how Sean was always insolent to Mark; inevitably, Mark had to escort the girl out of this forbidden forest area. Compared to the wolf chasing her earlier, it was more scary. Mark made the girl refuse to be escorted and immediately ran away.
"Hey, wait!" said Mark.
Mark chased her and pulled the girl's hand.
"Why are you running?" asked Mark.
"You turned out to be a werewolf," the girl replied.
Mark was shocked because the girl knew if she was a werewolf; he smelled the girl's scent, which turned out not to be completely human and turned out to be a vampire. What are vampires here for?
"I can get out of this forest," said the girl.
"Go ahead!" replied Mark.
The girl walked away from Mark, but Mark kept watching until the girl was out of his sight. During this time, vampires were rarely seen because they did not form colonies like werewolves but mingled with humans in cities.
Lucanne and Lisa were on their way to the Pack; they met up again with Moreno, hunting deer.
"Luna, leave him alone! Don't mind him!" Lucanne said.
"Okay, but I don't promise," Lisa replied.
Moreno and some of his friends approached them.
"Lucanne, I invited you to my clan's party like in previous years," Moreno said.
"I'm not interested in coming," Lucanne said.
"Lisa, do you want to come? We are celebrating the anniversary of the formation of our clan, there will be a great party and lots of food. Several clans are gathered together except Lucanne, who never comes," said Moreno.
"Yes, we'll come to your party," said Lisa.
"Luna!" said Lucanne, surprised to hear her wife's statement.
