Chapter 139 For as Long as You'll Have Me
Sienna
“Are you certain you have packed everything? I suggest you bring a few of Regalia’s products with you. They work remarkably well in the heat,” Jordan said, hovering around my room in the clinic like he had nothing better to do with his afternoon.
“Calm down, Jordan. We’re not vanishing off the face of the earth,” I said, catching the strap before he could reorganize my clothes for the third time. “We’re only going to be away for a few days. Besides, I still have my apartment in Bendis.”
That was right. Sebastian and I were taking a flight straight to Bendis. After days of unsaid truths, the time had finally come for him to stand face-to-face with his own brother.
“I am aware,” Jordan murmured, though his eyebrows stayed knit together in that stubborn, protective way of his. “However, I hear it is currently summer in that region.”
“It’s always summer in Bendis,” I teased, giving him a small smile. “Seriously, you don't need to fret so much.”
I knew it wasn't really about sunscreen or lightweight clothes. The idea of Sebastian and Ian occupying the same room for the first time in nearly two decades—after the bitter, violent way they’d parted—was enough to make anyone sick with worry.
He finally gave a nod, letting go of my luggage.
“Are you ready?”
Sebastian’s low voice drifted into the room. I turned to see him leaning against the doorframe, looking entirely too broad for the narrow hallway of the medical wing.
“Yup! All packed and ready to go,” I said, standing up.
He stepped inside, reaching down to take the bag from my hand before I could even lift it off the mattress.
“Please, allow me,” Jordan interjected quickly, stepping forward to take the strap right out of Sebastian’s grip. “I shall place this in the vehicle.”
He practically marched down the hallway toward the driveway before either of us could say a word.
I watched his retreating back, shaking my head with a soft chuckle. “I don't think I’ve ever seen Jordan this nervous before.”
“If you only knew,” Sebastian murmured, his dark eyes tracking the empty doorway. He held himself with his usual control, but the faint tension around his mouth gave him away.
We walked out to the waiting car, where Jordan was already standing by the open passenger door. The drive to Regalia’s private airfield took about thirty minutes, winding through thick pine forests and rolling hills that seemed to stretch on forever. Even after spending so much time here, I had no idea how massive Sebastian’s territory actually was.
When the sedan came to a stop on the ramp, Jordan hurried around to open my door.
“Please, take care,” he said, looking back and forth between the two of us.
“We will, Jordan. Don't worry so much,” I replied softly.
We said our goodbyes and headed toward the runway. Left in charge of the entire pack in Sebastian’s absence was Tristan. Poor man.
“A private jet, of course,” I remarked, glancing sideways at Sebastian as we walked up the mobile staircase. “How come I never knew you owned one of these?”
“I also possess a yacht,” he offered casually, not a single trace of humor in his voice.
I rolled my eyes hard. “And what, exactly, am I supposed to do with a yacht?”
“I was merely considering that after our obligations in Bendis are concluded, we might make use of it,” he replied, stopping near the top step to look down at me. “This is, after all, our first trip together, is it not?”
The sudden softness in his tone caught me completely off guard, and a warm smile spread across my face before I could stop it.
“What trip?” I teased, trying to hide how flustered I was. “You’re going there to meet your brother.”
“Naturally,” he murmured, his fingers lightly brushing against mine as he held the cabin door open. “Yet it remains a trip together, nonetheless.”
I just shook my head, stepping inside the aircraft. The cabin was exactly what you’d expect from an Alpha of his status—cream leather seating, rich dark wood paneling, and an expansive floor plan serviced by a single, quiet cabin attendant.
“Champagne?” the attendant asked politely as we settled in.
“Yes, please,” I said, sinking into one of the wide seats beside a large window.
Sebastian moved to take the seat directly across from me, setting his broad frame down with effortless grace. I raised an eyebrow at him, tapping my knee against his.
“You do realize it’s at least an eight-hour flight to Bendis, right?” I asked dryly. “I need my leg space.”
Sebastian looked at me for a long moment, tilting his head slightly. Then, without a word, he stood up and slid directly into the empty seat right beside me, his large hand instinctively reaching over to rest on my leg.
I looked down at his hand, feeling the solid heat of his palm seeping through my clothes.
“How is he?” Sebastian asked quietly. “Ian, I mean. What is he like now?”
A wave of affection washed over my chest. I could feel the tight grip he had on my thigh—a silent tension that gave away just how anxious he actually was.
“He’s an amazing person,” I answered softly, covering his hand with my own. “He truly is. When everything in my life was falling apart, he was the only person I could hold onto.”
Sebastian squeezed my thigh slightly, his thumb pressing into my skin. “He was always a remarkable boy,” he murmured, his voice dropping low.
I leaned my head sideways, resting it against his broad shoulder, and closed my eyes as the plane began its slow taxi down the runway.
“Everything is going to be fine, Sebastian,” I whispered into the quiet cabin. “I’m sure of it. Who knows? Maybe he’ll even come back home to Regalia with us.”
Sebastian shifted slightly beneath me, his breath hitching just a fraction. “With us?” he repeated quietly, the words weighted with a sudden, hesitant hope. “Does that imply you intend to return? You would not prefer to resume the life you built in Bendis?”
I sat up straight, pulling back just enough to look him dead in the eye. I frowned, narrowing my gaze at him. “Do you want me to leave Regalia? Because if you’re trying to kick me out, you can fly back from Bendis all by yourself.”
Sebastian’s hand instantly tightened around mine, his dark eyes widening as if he thought I was actually serious.
“Please,” he said, his formal composure cracking into something far more urgent. “Stay.”
I bit my bottom lip hard, desperately fighting back the massive grin threatening to break across my face. He looked so genuinely thrown off by the mere thought of losing me again.
Reaching out with my free hand, I cupped the side of his jaw, feeling the slight stubble beneath my fingers, and leaned in to press a soft kiss against his cheek.
“I’m staying with you,” I murmured against his skin, smiling as I pulled back to meet his gaze. “For as long as you’ll have me.”
