His stare was one of pure anger, “How fucking dare you, I had to kill them. They wouldn't let me take the position as Alpha, they wouldn't let me make the decision that would take our pack to the top" he stopped.
He turned around, just then Diana sprinted towards him, she wanted to knock him off but he turned around quickly and caught her.
“I had to kill them, there was no other choice, maybe since you won't come back, there's no choice but to kill you because no one else can have you" his face had twisted and strengthened into one of determination.
He meant it, he would kill me.
He snarled at her, baring his teeth ready for attack but something stopped him.
Before he could defend himself, Bradley came out of the woods, throwing himself at Damon's back.
Damon faltered, releasing Diana who moved away from him, before falling to the floor.
“What the fuck?" he groaned, turning around to see Bradley.
Bradley could feel a hot burning hatred for Damon, a feeling that he hadn't harbored for anyone since his parents died.
“You have dared to touch my mate" he roared in anger.
Damon's face contorted into anger again, “She's my mate, she only came here because she needed shelter, she needed to think" he insisted.
Bradley sneered at him. Of course, he would be delusional, thinking that somehow it was because of him.
He didn't talk anymore, there was nothing more to say.
He let out an angry howl, extracted his claws and fangs, and attacked. He swung his claws towards Damon's face.
Damon caught it, pushing him back with force. Bradley stumbled, but he caught himself. He straightened up, Damon just as quickly throwing himself at him.
Bradley caught his flying body with a hard kick to his abdomen. His claws dug into Damon's chest, causing a huge gash.
Damon roared in pain but stood straight immediately, “She'll never be yours," he said, his voice slightly in pain.
“You'll watch it happen," Bradley told him.
Those words flipped a switch in Damon, his body suddenly filled with a burst of energy, and he was ready to kill but not be killed.
He began to fight fiercely, throwing his claws and landing hits on Bradley.
“When you're dead, I'll make her my bitch in front of the whole world" he snarled to Bradley as he dug his claws into his thighs.
Bradley felt the pain go straight to his brain, and he could feel himself weakening. He tried to throw a punch but Damon caught his hand, tossing it aside and clawing his chest.
“Then, I'll take your pack, marry her because I won't need to keep that stupid fucking deal with the Whitemores" he added as he punched Bradley again.
“I'll make her so happy she'll forget you" he mocked.
Diana watched from the sidelines. She knew the strength Damon could possess when he wanted to, and she knew going into the fight wouldn't do anything but harm or even kill her.
She had to do something, she couldn't stand Bradley being hit like that.
Bradley howled in pain when Damon's claws tore at his chest. He needed the strength and momentum to beat him. He faced the sky, silently pleading for strength.
“You'll never get me, Damon, never,” Diana screamed.
Damon could almost feel his heart tear out at her words. He turned around in shock. "You don't mean-” he didn't finish his sentence.
Bradley's claws were on his chest as they both stood close to the edge of the cliff.
He was spitting blood repeatedly, and Bradley could feel his heart beating rapidly against his hands.
"My only regret is that you don't get to see me make her mine,” he snarled, and then he tore his hand out and gave him a small shove.
Damon fell off the edge, his eyes shutting with defeat.
Diana raced to see him, just as he disappeared into the darkness. Maybe she didn't want to go back to him but she had loved him, so entirely and with everything with her.
As he fell over the edge, he took a part of her heart with him. It was so loud, that part breaking off that she thought Bradley could hear it.
Bradley fell to his knees, satisfaction and pain coursing through him. That was one part of the story that had just finished.
He could feel the slow healing of his wounds, but they weren't fast enough; the damage Damon had caused was major.
Diana could feel the tears streaming down her face as she moved to help Bradley. They had to go back to the main pack house.
The battle was still being fought, and the Underwood pack wasn't aware that their Alpha was dead.
They both walked side by side through the woods, quietly back towards the house.
Diana's insides were torn with grief, but she didn't say anything; she couldn't even release the cry she was holding.
Loras sat at his desk, his eyes glued to the screen of his laptop. He wasn't doing anything on it; he couldn't even focus on doing anything, really.
He had heard from his informant that Damon had attacked, and they had won to a certain degree, but it was still ongoing. He nervously waited for the results.
Although whatever they were, he would know that at least The blackwood pack had been weakened. Whenever the attacker went through every man, until he reached Bradley, then he would rip out Diana's heart right in front of him.
He was almost salivating at the scenario.
A knock came on his door. “Come in" he called out in reply.
Celeste walked into the room. It took effort to hide the smile on her face; the news had just reached her.
“What?" Loras asked curtly, he didn't want to engage in any discussions with anybody, not when he was so angry.
“He's dead, Damon Underwood is dead" she announced grandly.
Loras' spine straightened at the news. He wasn't as excited as Celeste seemed but he knew this was one step closer.
“The Blackwoods fought a hard war, the army has reduced slightly, we should be ready," she said.
Loras grinned to himself. “We need his wolves on our side, they will help us," he said.
Celeste nodded, she had spoken to mom about it and she was going to do the work for herself. She was a better deal-maker. She always found her way to make them bend to her wishes.
She grinned to herself, “Your revenge is assured then brother, you need to arrange now"
He nodded, she knew he was talking about the funeral.
“And you? You've just lost your betrothed" he told her.
She shrugged it away, she had never cared too much anyway. When Loras won and had all packs under him, she would be Luna of the Underwood pack which was all she had wanted.
She still couldn't believe how fast and far she had pushed everything into order. It was only Diana who remained on the list; for her, she had prepared something special.
“I'm going to talk to Mom," Celeste said and began to walk out.
Loras didn't look at her, turning back to his laptop to continue his work.
Everyone now knew that Damon had killed his parents, even if he had survived, he would have been pursued by the pack and made a rogue wolf.
His pack would come to him, he knew his mother would make sure of that.
Now, the only thing he wanted was to find the man behind everything. He wanted him to come, he wanted them to join hands.
Although the blackwood army had been reduced, he knew the army strength they were rumored to have and he wasn't too sure he could match up on his own.
He rechecked the files Celeste had found to see if there was any way to contact him but there wasn't.
Elias tore through Damon's men, their guts spilling onto his hands and onto the floor. He didn't spare any man,
The battle was coming to an end, the remaining men had run away, of course, they knew they would simply be facing their death.
Since the night, during the battle, he had been going back to what he had witnessed, Damon taking Diana away, and maybe he felt an inkling of guilt.
He knew how much Bradley loved Diana and after losing his parents, it had been hard for him to let anyone in. Had he made a mistake by not trying to stop him or at least alert Bradley?
These thoughts swam through his mind as he went back to the pack house.
“Keep our men stationed throughout the borders, not one space should be left for anybody to sneak in through" he ordered the commander of the border watch.
“Yes, sir," he answered back, turning around to give orders.
They had lost some men, quite a few, but not too many, thankfully.
He arrived back at the pack house soon, and the house was empty.
He moved towards Bradley's office but he wasn't there, so he would be in his quarters.
He headed there, and he knocked on the door.
Bradley opened the door to Elias, “Have they retreated?" He asked.
Elias was about to speak when he noticed the movement behind Bradley, Diana had walked into view and then away.
She was alive, and he didn't know when relief coursed through him.
“Yes, Alpha, I've stationed soldiers at the border, there will be no breach," he said.
Bradl
They gave him a pat on the back. “Good job"
He had watched the war from his cave and he had chosen right.
The winning side was clear, and he had chosen correctly.
