I can't believe it as I look into my father eyes and see the tear slide down his face, this is the happiest I have seen him look since my mother passed away. I don't even know if I am sure how to react to this strong of an emotion after being apart for so long it feels good to be together again. I am working up the courage to say something when Daniel beats me to it. "I didn't know if this day would ever come again either but I missed you" he glances at me "both of you more than I care to admit." My father squeezes our shoulders again before glancing around the room and remembering we aren't alone. He quickly clears his throat then says "Well I guess we should get to eating, I can't remember the last time I ate a meal with both of my sons. Tell the kitchen tonight we shall have a feast prepared in their honor! Or at least the best feast they can throw together at this late of notice. Please everyone lets take our seats." Without hesitation everyone moved to the table, and as I feel Evie join me I still feel this caution unable to understand how my father has switched so quickly to this person we haven't known in years. Before I can stew on it much longer Evie leans in and whispers in my ear "Are you okay?" I smile and whisper back "Yes I am happier than I have been in a while. I have everything I need my family and my mate." Evie's Face lights up before she turns back to the table. "So.." Carter starts "How long are you staying Daniel?" Daniel's head snaps up and he swallows nervously. "Um, I am not sure how long I am going to stay yet. I brought with me a friend from school, he is visiting his brother in the city today. He is the reason for this trip he said he needed to visit family and wasn't sure how to make it happen. It made me realize it was about time for me to come home for a visit too. I stayed away for to long." Daniel says scratching the back of his neck. "I honestly was sure you guys would still have me." He finishes sending our father a small sincere smile. My father smiles back still seeming in awe of both of his sons being home. Evie's father speaks up before anyone else "I am pretty sure I can speak for every parent in here when I say that no matter what has happened in the past we will always welcome our kids home with open arms." Everyone mutters in agreement as our plates are placed in front of us and we all dig in. The meal finished peacefully and without a dramatic event for the first time in years. Evie kisses me goodbye as she wanders off with Lizzie and Hazel to explore the grounds. That leaves Daniel, Carter, Matt, Liam and I to do our own wandering. We end up in the game room and are taking turns playing pool and air hockey. I am really trying to get to know my mates brothers I want them to feel welcome here and like they can visit anytime, because with the rouge problem I don't know how long it will be until Evie and I can go to them. I try to clear my throat and prepare myself to start the conversation but it just comes out as an awkward grunt. I give a small laugh before turning to Matt and Liam "So... what do you guys think of the castle so far?" I ask cautiously. I watch the brothers make eye contact as well as a slight nod from Matt telling me they are mindlinking before he says "It is truly a beautiful city we appreciate that you have welcomed your home to us." I smile the neutral answer I would expect from a future Alpha, I can see he has been trained well. " I am glad to hear it, I want your family to feel welcome here and visit whenever you all want. I don't know when we will be able to return to Bloodmoon with the current threat to Evie, but I don't want her to miss out on seeing her family. She loves you all deeply." I say forcing the sincerity to my face. I want them to know I speak the truth and them to being willing to hopefully build those familial bonds with me not just Evie on these visits. I will do anything to make her as happy as she has made me. "We will consider this an open invitation and I will let my parents know. Thank You." Matt says with a small nod. I look around the room and see a proud smile on Carter's face glad the invite was extended to his new family as well. Then he looks around “Well should we get back to the games how about brothers vs brothers in the next round of pool? Daniel and Damon vs Liam and Matt? “ we all laugh and start on our game. After another couple of hours we all separate going back to our rooms to get ready for this makeshift feast my father has decided to throw in our honor. When I return to our I notice my mate peacefully asleep in our bed and I wonder how long she has been resting and if it would be wrong to wake her. I decide to settle with just holding her and slip into bed and pull her against me. Just as I am about to fall asleep I feel her stir, and roll towards me blinking rapidly as a sleepy smile spreads across her face. “When did you get here?” She asks with a small yawn. “Just a few minutes ago, I didn’t want to wake you.” I say stroking her hair lazily. “ Next time wake me, I fell asleep waiting for you to return. I hope you had a good time.” Evie says quietly snuggling deeper into my chest. "I did I got to know your brothers a little better although I can tell they haven't quite dropped their guards yet, especially Matt. But we had a good time and I think they will do it again before they go back to Bloodmoon. I also made sure they knew they were welcome to visit whenever they want." I say placing a gentle kiss on her forehead. "I want your family to feel welcome here at anytime." Evie's smile lights up our room probably the whole castle, then she leans in a kisses me softly. Although it very quickly turns out to be intense and before I know we are both ripping each other clothes off as fast as possible while I kiss down her neck, my earlier thoughts still rattling through my brain. How could I get so lucky?
