18. A GOOD FOR NOTHING LUNA
DAEMON
Jayda walked into the room in a new dress. It was another morning for her to show off her beautiful body. The dress clung to her incredible shape and showed off every part of her. Jayda looked the best, walked the best and even her aura was the best. It was obvious even from her walking and eloquence that she was a Luna, from heaven.
She stopped in front of me and bowed her head in respect. This gave me so much excitement and happiness seeing her respect despite all the things I had made her go though.
Father told me about the death of the little boy she went to check out and how broken she was when she found out that he was dead.
It was all because I brought her here, she had to face such a cruel fate. My eyes remained on her beautiful face. She tried to keep a normal expression but I knew that matter still hurt her. The death of the boy must have taken a toll on her and affected her mental health as well.
“Are you okay?” I asked and she nodded. Then she looked around, looking for someone.
“I thought you said I was going to meet your sister?” Her eyes stopped on me questioning.
“Yeah, she should be here anytime soon” I looked at the entrance and expected Freya to burst through the doors. Freya knew how to make anyone wait. She had the right attitude to make that happen.
“Hey bro” She stepped in, waving her hands at me. Jayda had bowed her head in respect to me but my sister was the opposite. Even my Luna, Cassandra rarely bows in front of me. I held a very high position in the pack hence I deserved to be respected, however, I don't think that they accepted that fact.
“Freya, how are you?” I asked regardless. I loved my sister and even when she made the stupidest mistakes, I still loved her.
“I am fine” She smiled back at me.
“Freya, this is Jayda, she is the healer of the pack” I introduced and then Jayda stretched her hand to Freya.
“And ofcourse this is my sister, Freya” I added. However, Freya looked at her hands as if it was nothing and then looked away, back at me making Jayda feel stupid.
What the hell is wrong with her? Is it so hard to welcome a guest?
“She has a nice name” Jayda added with an almost fake smile. I knew her pride was hurt, but she didn't want it to be so obvious so she slowly dropped her hand down. Jayda was also the Luna of her pack, being ignored and rejected by these people would probably make her feel angry.
“Freya?” I asked glaring at her. She didn't have the right to ignore her this way. She didn't.
Jayda didn't even want to come here, she only did because I forced her to come to heal my pack. All of these ill treatments are not what she deserves.
“I don't want to. I have the freedom to do whatever I like and what, right? You can't tell me who to shake and who not to, you wanted me to see her and now i have, can i go home now?” She gave me a glare that sent my head moving crazy. I instantly felt disrespected and disobeyed.
Freya didn't seem sorry, she turned and walked out on us.
"Freya? Are you in your right senses? how dare you behave like this and walk out on your Alpha?" I yelled to the top of my voice.
What the hell just happened?! What has gotten into Freya?
“Have we met before? Why did she behave like that?” Jayda was just as shocked as myself. I didn't know what had happened either.
“I don't know but I am sorry on her behalf, she just behaved foolishly sometimes, let me talk to her” I sighed and with this, I walked out. I went into her room as she didn't lock it from the back.
“What the hell was all that about?” I half yelled, staring at her with anger.
“What the hell was what about?” She walked to her vanity and sat before it, doing some things that I did not understand.
“What did I do?” She asked feigning ignorance, as if she didn't know that she just ignored our healer. That was disrespectful. She even walked out on me. On us.
“You want to deny doing that? You ignored Jayda, the pack’s healer, and even walked out on me. Where did you get the nerves to do that? Where? Is that what you have been learning up north?” I half shouted.
“I don't trust her and I don't like her. I feel like she is bewitching you or something” She looked at me from the mirror and this actually made me laugh.
How the hell did she conclude that so fast? She had never met Jayda. She should be glad Jayda was here helping out the pack.
“What the hell? You are really funny do you know that?” I laughed loudly.
“How?” she turned to me swiftly.
“Daemon, I am serious, I think that you should stay away from her. There is something about her that doesn't seem right” she uttered seriously.
“Wait, so you are not joking? You are been serious? Where is this coming from?” I was genuinely confused at that point. She had never met Jayda prior, how did she come to that point?
“When did you come? Have you met Jayda before? Do you know how hard it was for her to come to this pack and how hard it was to get her to help us? I don't want her to be disrespected, Freya” I warned.
She rolled her eyes dismissively.
“I don't think she is that important, there are many healers out there. You might be blinded by her charm but I am not hence I am giving you this piece of warning” She looked at me seriously making me scoff again. Because I didn't understand what was going on. When did my sister become a sorcerer that she started to know when someone was good or not, she has not even spent up to five minutes with Jayda.
“Cassandra!”
It was then I realized that there was a parrot in the house who could send messages that no one sent her.
Freya and Cassandra are friends. Best Friends. Of course, the duo have poisoned each other’s minds.
I got so angry, that I clenched my fist and walked swiftly to Cassandra’s room.
When I opened her room door, I saw some maids helping her massage her feet.
“Get out!” I groaned. The maids scurried out as my anger descended on them. They had probably never seen me this angry. Probably.
Cassandra jolted her eyes open and sat up, fixing her eyes on me as I walked close to her.
“What the hell did you tell Freya?” I asked.
“What?” She feigned ignorance, as expected from her.
“I am going to ask you one more time Cassandra, what the hell did you tell Freya?” I took my steps closer to her gently. I could feel her eyes fixated on me, trying to catch onto every one of my movements. I could hear her heart thundering in her chest.
“I didn't... I didn't tell her anything.” She cried out.
“You didn't tell her anything?” My steps were slow and steady. My eyes pinned on her, anger resonating in me. When I got to her, I grabbed her arm and then pushed her to the wall, her back slammed hard against it.
Cassandra winced, her entire body shaking.
“What the hell!” She groaned, her instincts kicking in as well.
“Refrain from spoiling Jayda’s name, Cassandra!” I snapped.
“I didn't do that” She winced, pain in her voice.
“I am not dumb, I know what you can do. I know you don't like Jayda and that is your reason for corrupting Freya’s mind. But let me warn you, if you do this again, I will make sure I make you pay for it!” I grabbed her arm tightly.
“Why? Is Jayda so righteous that you believe she cannot do anything wrong!” She snapped back, anger in her eyes as well. Cassandra was my Luna, of course, I expected her to fight back and this just reminded me of Jayda and the insult she had been putting up with.
“Yes, I believe so. I believe she is righteous because she is already saving the pack. You should be worshipping her, caring for her, and loving her. She is doing what you can never do in your lifetime!” I growled.
“What do you mean by that?” Hurt flashed through her eyes and for some reason, I didn't care that I had been excessive with my words.
“You should think of Jayda as a savior in this pack, you and Freya better learn to respect her because if you don't, I will make you suffer. I will make you both suffer so much, that you would beg to run away.” The words fell off my lips with both disdain and contempt.
I had never spoken to Cassdsndra this way. Even her eyes flashed with surprise, she looked at me as if it wasn't the same man who had crowned her Luna.
Her eyes flashed with hurt and tears gently glided through her eyeballs. Seeing that the words had hit the right place, I let her go and walked out.
“Fuck!” I heard her shout in her room and a loud crash followed. She had probably tossed some things off the shelf, Cassandra was good at destroying things anyway but she won't destroy Jayda's reputation, I won't let her.
