Chapter Seventy Five
Chapter Seventy Five
Her words kept echoing in my mind as I walked to the Alpha's garage. I could still hear the soft cadence, the weight behind them. This had been the hardest task I had ever embarked on, yet somehow the simplest.
Every step forward demanded more from me than I thought possible. I ran through every scenario in my head, weighing consequences and anticipating threats I might not even see coming. My chest tightened at the thought of failure, yet I could not allow hesitation to take hold. Every decision, thought, motion carried consequences I could barely comprehend.
And still, beneath the fear, it all came down to one truth. I had to do it. There was no turning back, no way to soften the edges of what awaited me.
I grabbed a bucket hat from the hook by the garage’s back gate, picking the shade closest to my jacket. I slipped it on, rolling my shoulders once to shake off the lingering nerves before stepping toward the car.
The sight of the sleek machine waiting for me helped settle my breathing.
My hand brushed the Rolls-Royce Boat Tail, and I knew Alpha Jagger wouldn’t take it lightly. To him, it was a challenge.
I already knew the Vargbane pack well enough, better than anyone here, but I kept my expression easy. Pretending it was all unfamiliar made it simpler to hide the knot in my stomach. Memories flickered like shadows at the edge of my thoughts, but I pushed them down before they reached my face.
“Welcome, sir,” Clot nodded as he stepped closer, taking my bag and placing it in the boot with the efficiency expected of him. He was the pack chauffeur, responsible for the alpha and Jake’s official runs, and one of my elite warriors.
“Thank you, Clot.” I adjusted my jacket, smoothing the front as if that could settle the restless pull in my chest. “It’s going to be a long ride. Good to go?”
He nodded slightly.
“Good. Let’s hit the road.”
The music played softly, but I couldn’t let it reach me. Clot nodded along, munching on the chocolate he always carried. I tried to focus on the melody, tried to let it drown out the tightening knot in my stomach, but it was no use.
The only way to reach the Vargbane pack was by road, and every mile reminded me of the risks. The route cut through checkpoints of his army, each point Clot showed the access card. The bush surrounding the road was littered with land mines, a silent warning that no one dared cross it uninvited.
I had made Clot stop at almost every fuel station along the way, partly to ease my mind, partly to give my nerves a momentary pause. Each stop gave me a brief sense of control, though it did little to calm the storm in my chest. I kept my hands clenched, eyes scanning the horizon, forcing myself to breathe.
I tried again to lose myself in the music, letting the notes fill the space between us, but my thoughts kept pulling me back to the knowledge that one wrong move could cost everything.
We were already on our way before dawn and my eyes driving to a familiar reel way track.
I inhaled shoving the memories aside.
The car halted in front of the park border, the pack was extremely quiet that you could even hear another’s breath sound, two servants one female one male came to us walking like they were been controlled by a button. they directed us on where to park I adjust my hat I I got down, the familiar scent hit my nose and I squeezed slightly, then acted like I d wanted to sneeze when I noticed the servant eyes flickered on me.
“Welcome sir, Your room is this way,” the female sevent bowed, moving a head to an up stairs.
While the male got out lodges following Row and I behind.
“You will spend the night here, the Alpha will see you tomorrow morning after trainings” she bowed and turned to Row,
“Let me show you your room sir,”
This going to be the longest night
The voice of the man I fear startled me up from the bed. I didn’t sleep the whole night, I laid my eyes up at the ceiling thinking of what might happen.
I moved quickly to the window, trying to see what was going on down stairs. My fingers fidgeted as I reached for the curtains, and pushed it slightly by the corner.
All the pack members but young and old lined up, the little ones lined up too.
Alpha wrong trains warriors, from birth you are already a fighter, his army is so large and he’s the most feared even by the council after they tried humbling him but couldnt.
He stood tall before his army, every one was still even the kids like someone pressed pause.
“A rebellion against your Alpha is a war note, and an evil seed to the pack,” Alpha wrongs voice rose. “And trying to leave the pack, without the Alpha’s order,” he paused for a moment, “you saying you prefer been a rouge than enjoying the protection that I “ his voice rose angerer “Alpha Wrong wang offer?”
“Answer me,”
“We prefer the protection,” they all echoed
“Then why the betrayal, bring those bastards in” three warriors dragged a man and his pregnant mate to the front.”
Their cries and plead filled the pack
“You think the pack isnt deserving of your new pubs? We can’t protect?
“No,No”
He ignored the pleaded man and dragged his wife closer to him.
“Y’all keep making me the bad guy,” his claws drag out and he slashed the stomach of the pregnant woman, then slashed her throat, a loud cry tore from the mate, he shifted and lunge at the alpha and he chopped his off his head with a single move.
My mind flashed at my last night in this pack.
Flashback
“Why did you do that,” I growled at him my head heightened,
“ You watch and learn boy,”
“Since y’all don’t want to learn, there won’t be food for y’all till tomorrow, that’s your slight punishment.”
“Now start training,” they all shifted except the children.
I closed the window my head arching, I wanted to pounce on him and tire him into pieces. My heart heighten
And for few hours I kept on trying to steady my heart beat, I had forgotten about this place since I left here but if I leave here alive, I will come back and kill him. My fist tightened.
I was heading to the bathroom when a slight knock came to the door, I adjusted the towel on my waist and headed to the door.
“Good morning sir” a new servant greeted as I opened the door “Breakfast will be served in 10 mins at the Alpha’s dining.” She bowed and mad to leave.
“I will skip,” I said clearly my throat slightly. “I prefer to wait for Alpha to be done with his breakfast before we start the meeting.”
“This is the Alpha’s instruction,” she bowed and walked away.
No one disobeys Aloha wrong, I know this but I decided to try my luck.
I inhaled my hand ranking my hair as I moved to the bathroom, I have now been councilors while touching the scar on my forehead.
