Chapter 65 Aiden Mansion

Chapter 65 Aiden Mansion
I was still staring at my pups when the car pulled up in front of the mansion. It was a high building with a dark wall and a gothic look. I stared at it in awe.

Aiden stays in a place like this and still says he is not an Alpha. So who is he really?

The question lingered in my mind for a while, creating a small fear that I hadn’t even thought to consider yet. There was so much about Aiden that I didn’t know, and the fact that I was going to be staying in his mansion made a cool shiver run down my spine.

"We're here, Diana," the old woman said, looking at me from the front seat as the driver got out of the car to open the door for me.

I got out, staring up at the grand building as two men came out of the front doors to assist in carrying the pups inside.

"Trust me, there will be plenty of time to explore the mansion," the old woman said with a small smile, gesturing for me to follow her in.

I gave her a polite smile and followed her up the stone steps at the entrance leading to the double doors. The doors creaked open, and a fresh scent of cedarwood and mint blew past my face. It instantly reminded me of Aiden’s scent. Two other maids lined up along the hall to make way for us to pass, and I still couldn't believe my eyes.

"Come on, Diana," the old woman said softly when she realized I had gotten lost staring at the golden ring statue resting on the glass table in the living room. "Let me show you to your room."

"Thank you, ma'am," I said, looking back at her before my gaze followed the men carrying my pups' cribs. "I would like to be in the same room as my pups."

"I thought as much," she said calmly. "Aiden suggested they get their own room that they would grow up to love, but I knew you would want them close."

"He said that?" The words left my mouth before I could even stop them.

The old lady nodded. "Yes. You don't plan to leave anytime soon, do you?"

I shook my head, even though I wasn't entirely sure about the future. I didn't know how long my pups and I would be safe in this pack before Layla or Alpha Warren found us. "No, for now I don't have any other plans."

We walked up the wide steps together, heading toward another set of tall double doors at the end of the hall. "That's good. Welcome to the family, Diana."

I smiled, and she raised her hand to signal the two men carrying the cribs. "Gerald, Ford," she called out, stepping forward. "Please take the pups into Diana's room. They will be staying there until they are old enough to have their own room."

"Okay, ma'am," the men said together.

One of them pushed open the door we were heading to, and I almost gasped at the sight.

I had never seen a room so big in my whole life. It felt like a space made for a queen, with high ceilings, soft white curtains, and a big queen-size bed sitting right in the middle. Everything was neatly placed, from the soft chairs near the window to the clean lamps on the side tables.

"Do you like it?" the old woman asked, watching my face.

"I love it," I told her, turning to look at her with real relief. "Thank you so much."

The woman chuckled softly. "It was majorly Aiden's idea, you know."

"Aiden did all this for me?" I muttered, feeling a strange warmth in my chest.

"Yes," the woman replied with a smile. "Now, you should get a warm shower. There are clothes already waiting in the closet. I didn't know your exact style yet, so I picked out clothes I thought you might like. After bathing, you should rest. Your food will be ready soon."

"Okay, thank you," I said.

The two men carefully set the pups cribs down at the other side of the room, fixing their glass stands so the babies were safe and warm. I thanked the men, and after they left with the old lady, I walked over to the cribs. I stared down at my twins with a smile. They cooed and moved their little hands like they could already tell I was their mother standing right there.

After spending some time watching them sleep, I decided to take a bath. I walked into the bathroom, turned on the taps, and sat down in the tub, allowing the warm water to ease my sore skin. I closed my eyes, letting the stress of the past few days drift away.

I didn't realize when I drifted off to sleep, but the sudden sound of my pups crying pulled me awake.

Panic hit me instantly. I rushed out of the tub, forgetting everything else, and ran out of the bathroom completely naked to check on my pups.

My eyes widened in shock, and my breath caught in my throat.

Aiden was standing right next to the cribs. His face was surprisingly soft as he looked down at my crying twins, a rare, small smile touching his lips as he rocked the glass frame gently with his hand.

Before I could turn around to run back into the bathroom, the sound of my bare feet on the floor made him look in my direction.

His eyes met mine, sweeping down my body in a single second. The room went dead silent. A strong spark flared between us, hot and thick like fire, and his eyes darkened as his breath hitched. My wolf stirred deep inside my chest, reacting to his gaze with a fast, heavy thud against my ribs.

For a long moment, Aiden didn't move or look away. He stared at me with an intense look that made my skin feel hot, his eyes lingering on my face before he forced himself to look up at the ceiling, his hands clenching into fists at his sides as he fought for control.

"Go get covered," Aiden said, his voice dropping into a low growl that sounded rough and strained, though he stayed standing completely still by the crib.

My face burned bright red. I scrambled backward, turned on my heel, and rushed back into the bathroom, slamming the door shut so I could grab a towel to wrap around my shaking body.
