Chapter 405: A Surprising Guest

Chapter 405: A Surprising Guest

The two embraced, both crying silently.

Curious glances came from passing guests, but Samuel quickly shooed them away with a look.

However, the news soon reached Faith and Byron.

What they heard was only that Amelia was crying.

They didn't know Patricia had returned.

So they thought something bad had happened and immediately dropped what they were doing to rush to the living room.

When they saw Patricia, they instantly understood.

"Patricia." Byron stepped forward, his throat equally tight.

Faith hadn't spent much time with Patricia. When Patricia "died," Faith had been at the Shadow Operations Division for less than a year.

But seeing Patricia now, she couldn't help but tear up too.

They all thought they would never see Patricia again.

They couldn't disturb Patricia's happiness.

But unexpectedly, Patricia had remembered on her own.

Patricia released Amelia, quickly wiped the tears from her face, and looked over at Byron and Faith.

"You two are really perfect for each other. When Faith first arrived, I thought Byron looked at you strangely. Turns out my intuition was pretty good. Congratulations, happy wedding."

Her eyes were full of sincere blessings.

In her heart, Byron was like her own younger brother.

And Faith was like her student.

That these two could end up together both surprised and delighted her.

Byron nodded firmly.

"Patricia, how did you get your memory back?"

Samuel spoke up at this point. "This isn't the place to talk. Faith, Byron, find a room where we can all sit down and talk properly."

Today was Byron and Faith's wedding, and there were people everywhere.

Patricia was married to the heir of Iron Fist Brotherhood. In Phoenicia, gangs were now strictly prohibited. If Patricia's identity became known, it might even alert the police.

Faith immediately suggested they go to her study.

……

After sitting down, Faith couldn't wait to ask how Patricia had recovered her memory.

Patricia said, "It was kind of a coincidence. There was a big fire at the warehouse. Seeing the flames and smelling the smoke, my heart started racing for no reason, and I passed out. When I woke up, I remembered everything."

She continued, "After remembering, I immediately went to where you were staying to find you, but the people there said you'd already returned home."

Amelia explained why they had left without saying goodbye.

"We didn't want to disturb your peaceful life. We were afraid that remembering the past would burden you instead. As Primrose, you were very happy."

Patricia shook her head seriously. "No, maybe my own past is indeed a burden, but those days with you all, I was really happy, really joyful."

Everyone teared up again.

Byron said, "Patricia coming back is a good thing. Everyone stop crying."

Samuel added, "Amelia, you're pregnant now. Crying isn't good for the baby."

Amelia wiped her tears and nodded. "Patricia's coming back is something to celebrate. Today is also Faith and Byron's wedding day. Let's all be happy."

Then she asked, "What about Orville? Where is he now? Have him come over and join the wedding. We can say you're friends we met on the island. If we don't say anything, no one will recognize your identities."

But Patricia's expression stiffened.

Amelia noticed and asked, "Orville didn't come?"

Patricia lowered her head.

Amelia asked in shock, "Patricia, don't tell me you came back on your own without telling Orville?"

Patricia nodded.

"I didn't tell anyone. When I found out you'd returned home, I bought a plane ticket and came straight here."

Everyone fell silent.

Faith asked, "Patricia, do you still want to go back?"

Everyone looked at Patricia.

Patricia's eyes were somewhat confused.

"I don't know. That time with Orville feels like a dream to me."

Now that the dream was over, she didn't know what to do next.

"I haven't thought about whether to go back or not. I just wanted to see you all as soon as possible."

After two seconds of silence, Amelia said, "Since you're back, stay here for a while. Attend Faith and Byron's wedding first. As for whether to go back, we'll talk about it after you've thought it throughbut you should at least tell Orville. Otherwise, with no word from you, things will be chaotic on his end."

"I don't want to talk to him right now. Amelia, can you tell him for me? But tell him not to come looking for me. When I've figured things out, I'll go find him myself."

"Okay."

Amelia agreed.

She didn't delay and soon contacted Orville.

Orville was indeed frantic. The entire Iron Fist Brotherhood was in chaos, all working hard to find Patricia.

Amelia told him that Patricia had recovered her memory and that she was their friend from before; Patricia's disappearance was because she came back to find them.

Hearing this, Orville didn't blame anyone. Instead, after breathing a long sigh of relief, he thanked Amelia.

"Thank you for telling me this. I thought there were still remnants of the Bloody Syndicate who couldn't get to me, so they went after Patricia instead. Thank you for telling me she's with you."

Amelia's heart ached a little.

Orville's feelings for Patricia were beyond words.

"I'll book a flight right away. Please take care of Primrose for me until I arrive."

Amelia hesitated for a moment, then said, "We'll take good care of her, but she hopes you won't come looking for her just yet."

Orville froze.

"Give her some time, Orville," Amelia said. "I know you want to come find her right away, but her mind is very confused right now. Give her some time."

Orville was silent for a long while before saying, "Ms. Richardson, Primrose will come back eventually, right? Even if she doesn't love me, we have a child. She wouldn't bear to leave the child behind, would she?"

Amelia held the phone, not knowing what to say.

"I'll have a good talk with her," she said.

She couldn't make decisions for Patricia, much less answer this question for her.

Orville was silent again for a while before speaking. "I understand. Thank you, Ms. Richardson. Please take good care of her. After having the baby, her health has been very weak. She can't overwork herself."

"Okay, I'll help restore her health. As for you, the child, and your father, are you all doing well? How's the recovery of your leg?"

"I can walk normally now, and the child is slowly recovering. Only my father is still in the recovery period."

"Don't rush it. I've already taught your people the treatment method. They'll help you all recover soon."

"Thank you."

"Orville, you've already said thank you to me many times."

"But besides thank you, I don't know what else to say to express my gratitude."
