Chapter 201
Edna
At Ga's control, numerous vines attacked her opponent.
Her opponent was an imperial guard with a red badge. The aura of Ga's attack was overwhelming. The guard dodged.
The guard's action seemed to be what Ga wanted in the first place. She slipped away from him and started heading towards my direction.
Ga's former opponent tried to chase after her. His actions were in vain though. Another traitorous alien with spikes jutting out of her skin entangled him.
He could only watch helplessly as Ga left.
The imperial guards around were trying to eliminate the remaining traitors.
Ga used her vines to push and throw the guards that were willing to stop her approach towards me.
Killian noticed her intention to get close to me. He whispered something under his breath and his opponent combusted spontaneously.
Killian started heading in my direction at a very fast speed.
Ga suddenly stopped before she got to where I stood. Laughter slipped out of her lips.
Her laughter sent chills down my spine. I watched her carefully.
I quickened my actions and killed the opponent battling me.
Suddenly, Ga's body started to inflate. The speed of the inflation was fast. She was still laughing. Her eyes remained on my figure.
The next thing happened within a split second. Ga’s body popped like a balloon that had been stretched to its limits. The next second, thick dark smoke was released from her scattered remains.
The black smoke spread fast. Soon, it covered the whole battlefield. I couldn't even see my hand or nose.
Chills attacked my spine. My sixth sense was blaring loudly. I was in danger.
I tried to look around but I couldn't see anything.
Sweat wet my skin. The black smoke was stinging my open eyes. All in all, I felt uncomfortable.
Fortunately, I had eliminated my opponent before the black smoke spread. Being blind and disconnected from the environment was dangerous.
I was still at the risk of stray attacks though.
A tiny whistling sound was approaching me. I didn't know the direction it was coming from. The black smoke seemed to have an echoing effect. The whistling sound was everywhere. I became alert.
A hand wrapped around my shoulder.
I wanted to struggle but the familiar scent of Killian made me stop. Killian dragged me to the side.
The whistling sound stopped. I sighed in relief. I thought we had finally avoided the danger.
The smoke around us that was as thick as ink started to dissipate.
A muffled sound left Killian's lips.
I could see my surroundings properly now. Killian's face was sweaty and most of his body weight was resting on me.
I didn't even notice when he leaned on me.
His shoulder was covered with red blood.
All the color I possess drained from my face immediately. The ongoing battle around me was not a burning priority. The only thing I could think of was Killian.
Killian was a very powerful person. It was strange that he could get injured like this. I don't know what kind of weapon caused this injury. I couldn't find any weapon attached to the injured area.
Killian was just bleeding.
My mind went to the strange whistling sounds that disappeared suddenly. Somebody must have released some kind of weapon in the smoke. That weapon was targeting me. The first suspect that came to mind was Ga.
Her behavior was very strange. Even if she wasn't the perpetrator, I strongly believe that the perpetrator was probably working hand in hand with her.
I gritted my teeth. I really wished that Ga wasn't dead. I would have made her living days hell.
I released a lot of vines. I let those vines assist me as I moved Killian to the hovercraft. I wanted to take him to the Palace for urgent medical treatment.
When I got to the door of the hovercraft, I stopped and turned around.
"There is no need to capture prisoners. Kill all the traitors. Once you are done, clean this battlefield up. After that, go to Earth City and arrest the rest of the traitors. We would find a way to deal with other alien and human traitors that are lurking in this planet later.” I commanded.
Some imperial guards were stationed near Earth City. Those guards should be able to stop any traitors from leaving the city.
"Noted." The guards that could respond replied in chorus.
After getting the response I wanted, I brought Killian into the hovercraft. Killian had lost consciousness.
Fear entangled my heart. I was regretful. Although those people weren't really prepared for this huge battle, they have a trick up their sleeve.
I felt like I had been too arrogant.
I put the hovercraft on autopilot. It was set to the fastest speed the hovercraft could offer. Tears dropped from my eyes as I hugged Killian to my chest.
Killian would be fine. He has to be!
