Chapter 33 33
Chapter 33 33
34.
ILYANA.
I didn’t know how or when I fell asleep. Every part of me throbbed with a pain I enjoyed, a lingering ache that wrapped around my body like a memory I didn’t want to forget. The last thing I remembered was coming undone in the alpha’s arms as he held me tightly.
I opened my eyes to see him fully dressed, his eyes already on me.
“You’re awake,” he said as our eyes met.
“My lord…”
A deep frown pinched the middle of his forehead. “My lord?” he scoffed, a hint of disbelief in his tone. “You didn’t seem to remember that when you were in my arms, begging and thrashing.”
My cheeks flushed with embarrassment as every word from last night came rushing back into my mind. I had been bold…braver than I had ever been, pushing myself to the edge of something unfamiliar.
“I…”
“The next time you call me my lord, I’ll have to punish you more,” he continued, his voice dropping into something darker, more dangerous. “Even more than last night.”
I looked down at the bed, my legs clenching unconsciously as another wave of heat pooled deep within me. Embarrassment churned through my chest, thick and consuming. This was disgraceful. Just a few words from him, and my body was already reacting, already betraying me.
I looked up when I felt the dip of the bed beneath his weight, meeting his dark eyes as his hand came to rest on my hair.
“I can smell your arousal, Ilyana. And it makes every part of me throb with need,” he muttered huskily, his fingers gently patting my head.
“I…I’m sorry…”
“There’s nothing to feel sorry about,” he corrected immediately, his tone firm but not unkind. “And no need to be shy. Last night, you were brave. I want that back. Be brave. Say anything you want without care when you’re in front of me.”
His hand slid down to my cheek, warm and steady, his thumb brushing softly over my lips. My pulse fluttered wildly at the contact, my breath catching.
“Where are you going?” I managed to ask, my voice softer than I intended.
“I have a meeting. An alphas’ meeting.”
I moved to stand up from the bed, pushing myself up despite the lingering ache. “I should get up and start the day. I don’t want to be a bother—”
“Sleep,” he cut in, firm and unyielding, pushing me gently back onto the bed. “When you wake up, you can do as much as you want. But for now, you need to rest. You slept late, and you must be tired.”
His touch was warm, grounding, easing every tense muscle in my body. I sank back into the bed without resistance as he leaned closer, pressing a soft kiss to my lips.
“I’ll be back soon. And I’ll see you after,” he said quietly before standing up.
I watched him walk out of the room, my mind going blank, filled with nothing but him—his voice, his touch, the way he looked at me—until sleep pulled me under once again.
When I woke up again, it was to the sound of the door opening. Sunlight streamed fully into the room now, bright and warm, as both Tina and Misha entered, their voices loud enough to chase away the last remnants of sleep.
I sighed tiredly, my body refusing to move, refusing to leave the comfort of the bed. I just wanted to stay there, wrapped in warmth, drifting in the afterglow of everything that had happened.
But Tina had other plans.
She yanked the duvet off me without warning, not knowing I was completely naked underneath, and we both screamed at the same time.
“Tina!” I yelled, grabbing for the covers.
“You naughty, naughty girl! You did it!” Her eyes sparkled with excitement as she quickly covered me back up.
I sat up slowly, embarrassment creeping up my neck, settling deep into my cheeks. But there was nothing to be embarrassed about…right?
Yesterday, at Atasha’s place, they had said so many things. Misha had taught me how to have sex, how to take charge, how to lead. My eyes widened slightly as realization struck.
I didn’t do any of that.
I didn’t take charge. I didn’t lead. The moment Kael kissed me, everything slipped out of my hands. He had taken control of everything—from the first touch to the very end.
“Did you do it?” Tina asked eagerly as she settled beside me.
I nodded shyly, and her smile widened instantly.
“You must tell me everything! How was it? But just so you know, the first time is never too good, so don’t worry about it. Did he hurt you? Was he gentle?”
My embarrassment deepened with every question. It hadn’t been painful—not really. The first thrusts had hurt, yes, but after that… it had turned into something else. Something overwhelming. Something I didn’t want to ever lose.
“Are you shy?” Tina teased. “There’s nothing to be shy about. It’s just sex.”
I hesitated before asking the question that had been sitting heavily in my chest since last night, uncertainty tightening around my thoughts.
“Then…does this mean I’m pregnant? Or how long would it take for me to get pregnant?”
Both of them burst into laughter immediately, the sound echoing around the room.
“Pregnant? Now?” Misha laughed, shaking her head. “You might be, but we won’t know yet. It’s just the first day—just the morning. We should know in about two weeks.”
Relief washed through me, soft and fleeting, but it was quickly followed by something colder—something heavier. A quiet fear crept in, settling deep in my chest as a shudder ran down my spine.
What if I was already pregnant?
I would carry the alpha’s child… deliver it… and then what?
Would he still want to know me? Would he still care? Would he still look at me the same way?
“But we don’t have to worry about that now!” Misha cut through my thoughts brightly as she stood up, clapping her hands together. “First, you need to take a shower and get dressed. Lady Atasha wants to see you, and then you can tell us everything about how it went.” She grinned. “I want to hear every single detail!”
“Me too,” Tina added quickly.
“Help her to the bath. Who knows if she can even stand after last night?”
Hot blood rushed to my cheeks as Misha laughed. I slapped her hand away playfully, wrapping the duvet tightly around my body as Tina helped me up.
The moment my feet touched the ground, my legs wobbled slightly.
“See?” Misha teased. “I was right.”
My blush deepened as I followed Tina toward the bathroom, a strange, warm feeling settling inside my chest despite everything.
At that moment, everything felt…perfect.
I have a mate that wants to know me. I was not rejected. I have a pack that fully accepts me with people around me—friends, who cared, who wanted to hear me, who saw me.
“Why is there a broken cup on the floor? You must have really been out of it last night!” Misha called from the room.
Tina’s eyes met mine, teasing and knowing, and I couldn’t help the small smile that tugged at my lips.
And in that moment, I truly felt like I could never have asked for more.
