Scottie was lying in bed, but he couldn’t close his eyes.
And he couldn’t stop smiling.
Trenton had been gone for over an hour, but Scottie could still taste him on his lips, could still feel the heat from his body pressed against him, could still remember the way his hard cock had throbbed when Scottie had wrapped his hand around it.
God, it had been so damn sexy.
Even better, there hadn’t been any awkwardness afterward, like Scottie had feared. The whole night had been good, had been normal—just like a date should be.
His phone vibrated on the nightstand and Scottie nearly leapt across the bed to get to it, hoping it was Trenton calling.
Maybe he’s coming back over for more now that he’s had a taste, Scottie thought, grinning to himself as he squinted against the harsh light of his phone screen.
It was Trenton, but he wasn’t calling. And he wasn’t coming back over, either, unfortunately.
At least not tonight.
I had such a good time. Thank you for everything. Hope you’re resting. The sun will be up soon…
Scottie grimaced as he checked the time on his phone. It was just a little after midnight, so soon was a relative term, but still… it was a lot later than he normally went to bed. A lot later.
And he wasn’t tired at all.
He was still smiling to himself. God, was there ever going to be a time when he could think about Trenton and not smile?
Scottie hoped not.
He typed out a quick reply and sent it.
Still awake, but hopefully falling asleep soon. I had a great time, too. We have to do that again sometime soon.
Scottie would leave it to Trenton’s imagination what he was referring to doing again soon—dinner, the movie, or what had come after.
With any luck, there would be more of all three.
Before he could set his phone aside, he got another text.
Hey! Are you still awake? If not, tell me EVERYTHING in the morning! Everything!
Scottie cocked his head to the side and his brows furrowed as he re-read the message. It was only then that he realized this one wasn’t from Trenton, but from Calvin.
Because of course Calvin was still awake and waiting for all the juicy details. Scottie snorted to himself as he dashed off a quick reply.
Been home for a couple of hours. It was a lot of fun. Has Sasha been behaving?
Scottie knew before Calvin answered that the reply he’d sent was way too light on details to pass muster as far as Calvin was concerned, but he hoped that switching the subject to Sasha would distract him for at least tonight.
Calvin’s response came in less than a minute, and it was just as Scottie had suspected.
Sasha has been an angel, of course. She’s cuddled up sleeping between Jack and me right now. But don’t think I’m letting you off that easily about tonight. Spill the details!
Scottie laughed and shook his head. He knew he wasn’t going to get away with skimming over the date, but there was still a part of him that wanted to keep some of those details private—at least between himself and Trenton.
And anyway, Calvin didn’t need to know all the details. Just the highlights.
We went to the Italian restaurant you and Jack recommended and then to see one of those superhero movies. The food was amazing and the movie was a lot better than I thought it would be. I told Trenton we could go see the next one when it comes out haha. Then he dropped me off and now I’m lying in bed about to go to sleep. So now that you’ve had some details, you can get some sleep, too! I’ll be by to pick up Sasha in the morning on my way to work. Thanks again for all your help tonight. You’re the best!
Scottie huffed out a short breath as he sent the message. If that didn’t satisfy Calvin’s need for details, nothing would. And it would be too bad, since Scottie’s thumbs were on the verge of cramping after that super long text.
Thankfully, the reply that came back was short and sweet.
Aw, that sounds like a fun night! I’m glad. You deserve it. I’ll see you in the morning, bright and early. Good night!
Scottie finally set his phone back on the nightstand and settled back against his pillow with a contented sigh. At least Calvin was satisfied, and at least the important details were still locked safely away in Scottie’s memory.
They were definitely memories he’d be revisiting—probably again and again for a while.
And even though he and Trenton hadn’t really discussed what they hoped might come next, Scottie was okay with taking things slowly. He was even okay with the fact that they hadn’t really referred to tonight as a date between the two of them.
For now, anyway.
Scottie did want more eventually, but he also knew that Trenton wasn’t there yet. Trenton clearly still needed time to figure things out.
And from the way it seemed, Trenton might already know what he wanted. He sure hadn’t hesitated tonight.
But maybe his brain just needed to catch up to his heart and his body. Scottie could understand that, too.
The important part was that they were both enjoying their time together. They didn’t need to rush anything. And Scottie was definitely enjoying his time with Trenton more and more every day.
His eyelids slowly started to drift closed.
Finally.
And of course, the first image that popped into his mind was Trenton’s face. That smile. Those gorgeous eyes.
But that was fine with Scottie. He was happy to fall asleep to that face anytime.
He’d do it every night, if he could.
