Chapter 16 : The Jealousy

After three days Anu and Tani go to college. As soon as they entered the college, the boys and girls of the college looked at them strangely. Tani notices that some people are looking at Anu and talking to themselves. They ignored it and went to the classroom. After reaching to the classroom, they saw all of the students greeting them. They could not understand. Tani asked Sayani and Rishita, “What’s going on here? What is all these?”

“We share your joy of victory. We are all happy about your success. Everyone is congratulating Anu for her bravery. Today for you guys, college’s don and don’s sister are eating prison food. It’s a huge news.”, Rishita said happily.

“Not us, you guys also there. And Akash.. he is the one who deserve these also. Where is he?”, Tani said to them.

“Taadaa… I’m here..”, Akash said from Tani’s behind.

“You took the devil’s name and the devil appeared.”, joked Rishita.

“Baby..”, Akash said puffing his cheeks like a child. Sayani and Tani laughed.

Meanwhile, a girl suddenly came from the back bench, reached to Tani and said, “You are Tani right?”

A little surprised, Tani said, “Yes.”

“Hi, I’m Riddhi. I’ve been hearing a lot about you for the past three days. I’m finally lucky to meet you.”, the girl said with a smile.

Rishita said from the middle, “Oh yes, meet her. She is Riddhi. She took admission here. Joined three days back. And we have been telling her about your bravery since that day.”

Sayani said, “Yes, we’ve told her all the stories since then. She’s a good girl, that’s why she tolerate us. Haha.”

“Hey.. no no.. I like your stories of various tastes. Had a good time with you.”, Riddhi said with a smile.

Tani was listening to them with a smile. On the other hand, Anu was squinting at Tani and the girl while receiving the greetings. The girl was talking to Tani with a very smiling face, and Tani seemed to be quite attuned with the girl.

Anu’s smile flew away in a moment. She finished receiving greetings and hurriedly went to Tani. Rishita said, “Hey, that’s our favorite member has come.” As she approached to Tani, she grabbed Tani’s left hand and flashed a fake smile on her face.

Tani smiled and said to Anu, “She is Riddhi. She got admitted here a few days ago. Riddhi meet her, she is Anushka, my childhood friend, and Anu, she is Riddhi.”

Riddhi smiled and extended her hand forward to shake Anu’s hand. Anu shook hands with a faint smile.

Riddhi said, “Nice to meet you.” Anu didn’t say anything just put a fake smile on her face and nodded.

Akash said, “I should go to my class. Last bell has rung. See you all at Tiffin. Bye. Bye baby…”

Rishita looked up at Akash with a slightly dismissive look and said, “Yes, bye.”

Tani said to Rishita, “Why are you doing this to him? How much he cares for you, how much he loves you. And you just…”

“Uhu hey that’s my way of expressing my love. I can’t do so much drama like the rest. If girls care a little more about boys then they think too much of themselves.”, said Rishita with a bit of fun.

Everyone laughed and went to their desks. Anu sat next to Tani like every time. Riddhi sat with Sayani and Rishita.

The class begins after sometime. Anu remained silent, her face was a little heavy. Sometimes during the class Tani asked, “What happened? Why are you so quiet?”

Anu shook her head and said, “No, nothing happened. I’m concentrating on study that’s it.”

Tani didn’t say much. She realised that Anu’s mood is off. Maybe an old memory is haunting her.

At tiffin break everyone was eating and chatting in the canteen. Tani left a seat next to Anu and sat on the next seat. Suddenly Riddhi came and sat in the seat between them.

Anu got angry seeing this. She quickly got up and went out with the bag. Sayani, Riddhi, Tani, Rishita, Akash are all surprised to see Anu’s behavior.

“She seems to remember old memories. That’s why she left like this. You guys carry on, I’m going to check on her. And please don’t mind. I’m apologizing to you guys on her behalf.”, Tani said a moment later.

“No it’s fine. You should go.”, Sayani said.

Tani left the canteen. She could not see Anu anywhere. After going some distance, Tani saw she was sitting in the backyard of the college. Tani felt a little strange, “Suddenly why Anu did this.” She reached into her pocket to take out her phone. A packet stuck in her hand. Tani remembered, she had bought chocolates before entering the college. Tani smiled a little and quietly went to Anu with the packet.

Following Anu, Tani sat down behind her without making any noise. And took the chocolate packet in front of Anu. She said, “Look, it was missing you. It cried a lot and melted. So I thought I’d bring it to you.”

Anu took the chocolate and unwrapped it. She was about to take a bite when Tani said, “Hey.. me first.” Anu narrowed her eyes and gave the chocolate to Tani. Just as Tani was about to bite the chocolate, Anu took it back and took a bite herself and started laughing.

“Not fair.”, Tani said and laughed and hugged Anu by her waist. Anu felt butterflies in her stomach. She was happy. Felt some tickling inside her body.

Tani did not ask Anu anything just said, “Let’s go to class.” She knows Anu needs some space to get over her thoughts. They got up and headed to the classroom.

Anushka’s POV :

I don’t understand what happened to me. I suddenly behaved badly in front of everyone. What did the new girl think about me? But I was very angry then. Why will she come and sit among us? Tani, just sit next to me. Why would someone suddenly come and sit between us? Oh.. What am I thinking of these? Was I feeling jealous?
