Chapter 70 Chapter 70
Chapter 70 Chapter 70
Tessa
I managed to eat a little after he left my room, but it felt like a chore like when being forced to do a whole lot of laundry. Afterward, I locked my room and lay on my bed, crying silently into my pillow. I felt so lost and confused, and the tears wouldn't stop; they kept on steaming down my cheeks, cascading down and even staining the pillow.
The next morning, I woke up feeling heavy and tired. I couldn't face Carter or anyone else, so I slipped out of the house early without saying a word. I didn't want to deal with the awkwardness, the hurt, or the guilt. I needed space.
School dragged on. I tried to focus on my classes, but my mind kept drifting back to the night before. Carter's words echoed in my head: "You're important to me." It felt comforting but also made the ache in my chest worse.
After school, I spotted Leah in the parking lot. "Hey, want to go to a party?" she asked, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Sure," I said, hoping it would help me forget everything, at least for a little while. I thought doing so would make me lose everything and clear my mind, which has troubled me nonstop.
When we arrived at the party, I tried to let loose. The music was loud, and people were dancing everywhere. I grabbed a drink, and the buzz of alcohol started to numb my thoughts. I felt freer, at least for a moment.
But as the night went on, Leah disappeared with a guy. I felt abandoned and slightly annoyed, but I tried to shake it off and keep enjoying myself. However, without Leah around, I started to feel lonely. I wandered through the crowd, hoping to find someone to talk to, but it didn't help. I took another drink, and soon everything began to blur.
Somewhere along the way, I found myself at the bar, giggling with a few strangers. That's when I noticed a guy moving too close to me, trying to grind against me. I froze, feeling uncomfortable.
In a moment of poor judgment, I fumbled for my phone and called Carter.
"Carter! Where are you? I am stuck some where and I can't get home, can you come pick me up?!" I slurred, not even thinking about what I was doing.
"Where are you?" he asked, his voice sharp and clear through the haze.
"Club... come get me," I managed to say before hanging up.
A few minutes later, I saw him push through the crowd. His eyes found me, and I felt a mix of relief and embarrassment. But before I could say anything, he was already confronting the guy who was trying to dance with me.
"Hey! Back off! What the hell are you trying to do with her?" Carter shouted, stepping between us.
The guy looked confused and started to argue. "She's just having fun, man! Can't you see she is having the best fun of her life?"
"She's not interested anymore in having the fun; just back off, lad," Carter replied, his tone low and fierce.
I could see the tension building, and I felt a bit scared. "Carter, it's okay," I tried to say, but he wouldn't back down.
"Just leave her alone; what is your stress, man? Is she your daughter's girlfriend or wife? What is she to you anyways?" he said, his voice steady. The guy finally backed off, muttering something under his breath as he walked away.
"Let's get out of here," Carter said, grabbing my arm. I nodded, still feeling the adrenaline pumping through my veins.
Once we were outside, I felt a rush of emotions. "Thank you for coming," I said, leaning against the car. The cool air hit my face, and I felt a bit more sober.
"Why did you call me?" he asked, his brow furrowed with concern.
"Because I didn't want to be there alone, I just thought that I needed your presence," I admitted, feeling vulnerable.
"Let's just go home," he said, but as we got into the car, I felt a sudden urge for something more.
"Carter, I want... I want to have sex, I want you to have sex with me right now, please" I blurted out, my voice shaky. "Right now, in the car."
He looked at me, surprised. "Tessa, no. We can't do that; you know that if we get caught making out in the car, it will make sense at all."
"Why not?" I protested, feeling a mix of desperation and courage. "I just want to feel something different other than this blasted drink running through my veins."
"Tessa, you're drunk. This isn't what you want; you don't want me to have sex with you; you need to sleep and take a hangover tomorrow," he replied gently, but I could see the struggle in his eyes.
"Please," I begged, feeling tears prick in my eyes. "I don't want to go home like this."
He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Fine, but we're not doing anything crazy. Just... let's keep it simple."
As we parked in a quiet spot, my heart raced. I felt a rush of excitement mixed with nerves. But I knew I had to be careful. I didn't want to regret this.
We ended up kissing, but it didn't go as far as I wanted, he fingered me and sucked my pussy. He kept things slow, making sure I was okay with everything. After a few moments, I felt a rush of emotions—confusion, excitement, and a sense of comfort all rolled into one.
When we finished, he looked at me, his expression serious. "Tessa, are you sure about this?"
"I don't know," I admitted, suddenly feeling overwhelmed again. "I thought I wanted it, but..."
"It's okay," he said softly, brushing a strand of hair from my face. "You don't have to decide anything right now."
I nodded, feeling a mix of relief and regret. "Can we just go home?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah, let's get you home; you probably need rest after all the stuff you got yourself in," he replied, starting the car again.
On the way back, I felt the weight of silence between us. I thought about everything that had happened and how confused I felt. I didn't know how to make sense of it all.
When we arrived, I felt exhausted. Carter walked me to my room, but before he could say anything, I pretended to be asleep. I wasn't ready for another conversation about feelings or what happened earlier.
"I know what I did yesterday was bad; I should not have kissed your mother when I was truly into you; it is more of like cheating on my love, and to be sincere, I feel so dirty and like a cheat. I am sorry, Tessa." He said, pouring out his emotions while I lay still, pretending to be asleep.
He spread out the blanket and tucked me gently. The door clicked shut, and I felt the tension in my chest start to ease.
Once I was alone, I slipped out of bed and headed to the bathroom. I needed a shower to wash away the night's confusion and the alcohol still lingering in my system. The warm water felt soothing, and I stood there, letting it wash over me as I thought about Carter.
His words came back to me."I know what I did yesterday was bad; I should not have kissed your mother when I was truly into you; it is more like cheating on my love, and to be sincere, I feel so dirty and like a cheat. I am sorry, Tessa."
They made me feel warm but also made the confusion rise again. What did that mean for us?
As I dried off and climbed back into bed, I reflected on everything. I liked Carter, but it felt so complicated. I wanted him, but I also wanted to protect myself. I didn't want to get hurt again.
Lying there in the dark, I tried to process my feelings. I knew I needed to talk to him soon, but for now, all I could do was think about how I felt about him and the mess I had created.
I closed my eyes, hoping for clarity in the morning.
