Chapter 33: Chris?
Elizabeth’s POV
Aleksander was setting me on fire when his mouth and hands did wonderful things to my body. This was my greatest fear and also what I wanted. Yes, I want every single touch from his powerful but tender hands. But then, I was afraid that I would get too addicted to his touch and I would be so heartbroken if he threw me away.
What if he remembers that I am just a slave brought to him and I mean nothing to him? Wouldn't that be too much of a pain?
Although Aiden's betrayal was so much pain, Aleksander's will surely crush me. I might even die from it.
Well in all, I decided to enjoy this moment while it still lasted but then a very annoying knock decided to interrupt us. I could see that Alexander was so angry. Not only him though because I was angry too. I cursed the one at the door in my heart.
I got more vexed when I heard the one at the door. That woman! That one that my heart tells me is a rival. Well I didn't want to like a desperate horny b**ch so I tried standing up but Aleksander won't let me. He was still pinning me down while he wore a scowl.
"I need to get dressed before she comes in," I said to him whispering.
I don't want to be caught sleeping with the Alpha King. She might not know my heart, she might think that I'm seducing him.
After much pleading, Aleksander released me and growled. The idiot at the door wouldn't stop knocking and talking. I didn't know if she was not ashamed. If it were me, I would have pressed the exit button a long time ago.
Aleksander waited for me to get properly dressed before he opened the door. I checked myself well because I don't want her to stare daggers at me. I didn't know why I was so concerned with what she would think. Maybe even making her know will let her stay off Aleksander but then what if he is not as interested in me as I am in him? It will just make me an object of mockery.
Aleksander stood by the door as if he didn't want Victoria to enter and I wondered why?.
"What do you want?" He said in a gruff voice.
I chuckled at how he sounded. He must still want to continue what he started. Well, I too wouldn't mind a continuation.
"Alek, there's something I need to tell you. I didn't know why it took you time to open the door" she said, trying to peep inside.
I could sense that she wasn't happy with Aleksander's behavior but I was. It was like he was giving her boundaries and I liked it.
"I don't have time to waste here. Just tell me your mission here!" Aleksander said sternly.
" I can't tell you standing out here. It's not something that I will rush to say. It's about Chris. I saw him" she said.
I could see that Aleksander's shoulders tensed up immediately. This made me wonder who Chris was. He must be an enemy because Aleksander's aura changed all of a sudden.
He then moved back for Victoria to come in. Victoria came in and when she saw me seated on the bed, her frown grew and she glared at me with animosity.
I didn't know why she should do that. At least she knows that Aleksander and I share the same room. Can't I be in my room anymore?
She wanted to sit on the bed but Aleksander told her to go sit on the sofa and I was smiling. I didn't know when I became this man freak but I don't know, I just don't want any woman close.
"What are you going to say about Chris?" Aleksander asked.
I was watching them. I want to know all the details. Victoria looked at me.
"Are you going to talk about Chris when she's here?" Victoria asked.
Is she trying to get me kicked out? I almost made a loud noise. I don't trust her alone with Aleksander. She's definitely up to something. All this talk she wants is just a way to get closer to what is mine. I scolded myself for thinking that way.
My heart skipped when Aleksander looked at him. I didn't know if he was going to kick me out for this woman.
"Let her be." That was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard today.
I could see that that witch is not happy because he didn't kick me out. She glared at me and I gave her a triumphant look. I am surely going to get into trouble if I make Aleksander's claim so obvious because he sure has a lot of women around him.
"I was having cravings for pizza, you know I love it....." Victoria started to say.
I rolled my eyes, like who cares if she loves pizza?
"I then saw a guy that looked quite unusual. I decided to follow him, and guess what I found out. Chris is having a time with a lot of females at the pool. I saw him clearly" she said.
Was that what she wanted to say all along that makes her act as if it was one big piece of information? It looks like irrelevant to me but then looking at Aleksander he has a serious look. Is the man that important?
Aleksander took his phone and then did.
"You two should get here" his voice was firm.
I wish to know who Chris is and what he has done. Less than three minutes later, Ava and Nicholas walked in.
"What's up?" Nicholas asked.
They didn't even notice that I was there.
"I saw Chris. He's so close" Victoria said hurriedly.
This Chris must have done something bad to them because Ava and Nicholas also became so serious.
"Are you saying he is not at Mille Dragon hotel?" Nicholas asked.
He seemed quite astonished.
"Yes, he is just a few blocks away from us. At that little hotel" she replied.
" Shit!" Nicholas sworn.
"That means for him to be so close and we do not know, they intentionally made us believe that he is at that hotel. He must be waiting for the right time to attack us" Ava said.
Attack! That scared me. Is that man a serial killer?
"Yes, so we must act fast," Victoria said.
I was so ashamed that I couldn't help. But then who said I couldn't help? I brought out my phone and did some research about the nearest hotel to us and I found it. I start to read all its details while I also listen to their conversation.
"We can't attack that place now. It will alert the neighborhood and I wouldn't want to disturb the peace of my people" Aleksander said.
I was impressed with that. He is indeed an Alpha King.
"But we have to do something before he notices that we've found him and he will escape," Ava said anxiously.
" Moreover I want to catch him alive," Aleksander said between gritted teeth.
They all deliberated on what they were going to do but then I saw a lot of chances for them to alert people. Although Aleksander is the Alpha King and can do what he wants but then, he needed to tread carefully so as not to bring more enemies or to notify them. I'm sure he has turns of them.
"No, that is too risky." I didn't even know when that came from my mouth.
I almost hit myself for getting into a conversation that I wasn't called into. I waited for Aleksander or the rest to scold me for interfering. Well, none did aside Victoria, my sudden enemy.
"What do you know about what we are talking about you are putting your wide mouth!" She spotted me.
The rage in her eyes made me wonder if she was seeing the guy they were about to capture in me. Even though I also didn't like her, I wouldn't have spoken to her like that.
"Victoria!" Ava called firmly.
Her voice showed that she doesn't like the way she spoke to me.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to prowl" I quickly apologized and bowed my head.
They were still looking at me. I could feel it.
"Why do you think what I said is too risky?" Nicholas asked me calmly.
I was excited because they wanted to hear me.
"Although what you said is a good idea, it is too risky. The man might be in a small hotel but then he is not a fool. He is definitely alert and is watching for any face that isn't like the one he knows. Moreover, your smell will give you away, '' I explained.
" Yes that's true but then what other options do we have? We would have to rush it" Nicholas said.
I shook my head at him.
"No, you don't. There is a simpler way we can solve this. Since it is to capture and convict the man, u read that there is a big river behind the hotel. That river can be used as our escape route. It will be better than bringing him back to the road. We might be pursued by his men" I explained.
I didn't even know if what I said made any sense because they were all silent.
"Yes, there's a big river" Ava broke the silence.
" But then, are you saying we should stage it like a kidnap?" Aleksander asked.
With the way he was looking, I didn't know if he wanted to accept my suggestion or if he thought it was too flimsy.
"Isn't it better than to fight and spill blood?" I asked him.
" How can a whole Alpha King kidnap a criminal? It is because you don't know who we are talking about, that is why you would give such useless suggestions."
Here comes the accuser with jealousy ringing in her eyes. Well, I wouldn't let her talk me down. I was going to defend my point.
"I didn't mean the Alpha King should kidnap a criminal. Do you think if the fights start, there won't be innocent people who would get injured at the hotel? I don't see a big deal if the leader can be kidnapped and the followers get arrested later" I said to her with confidence.
" What do you know? Aren't you just a slave brought to the palace?" Victoria snapped.
That insult wasn't unexpected at all. It opened an old wound that I have been trying to seal. I glared at her with pain in my eyes but in the end, didn't say anything.
"That's too much Vic!" Nicholas said sternly.
Victoria looked at Nicholas with a nonchalant look.
"What? It's not as if I lied" she said, looking so proud.
What hurt me the most was when I had expected Aleksander to say something but he didn't. He didn't act as if he didn't hear what Victoria said and this gave Victoria a glorious card. Ava looked at me and gave me an apologetic look. I'm so confused here. Who exactly is Victoria to them? It's not as if she's their family or something. Why is she acting as if she's the one controlling Aleksander?
