Chapter 114 Where could he be?

Chapter 114 Where could he be?
“WHERE SHOULD I PUT THIS, BABY?” Daphne looked at her husband, who was carrying their child’s things.

They had just arrived at Hotel de Astin. Her whole family and BK’s parents would be joining them on this trip. Since they couldn’t all fit in BK’s house, they decided to stay at the hotel instead.

“Just put them on the table for now. Leave them there, and I’ll fix everything later. Please watch the baby first because I need to tell Yaya something.” She went back to putting their clothes inside the closet.

“Alright, baby.” He immediately obeyed and stepped out of their suite.

Their child was downstairs with Yaya and the grandmothers, already well-watched since both their parents were present. She just didn’t want to give BK a chance to come close to her. He had been whispering apologies to her for days, but she still ignored him. It was a good thing he wasn’t losing his temper.

After arranging their things, she went downstairs to get their child. She put the baby to sleep first, knowing the little one must be tired. The baby didn’t sleep during the trip because BK kept teasing and playing the whole time.

When she saw Mirielle already sound asleep in the crib, she slipped into the bathroom to take a bath. They were supposed to have lunch at BK’s family home, so she needed to get herself ready before the baby woke up.

There was still an hour left before lunch, so she soaked in the tub for a while. She played some music to relax even more. She had been too hands-on with the baby these past days, wanting to make up for the months she wasn’t around.

Her eyes snapped open when she heard the bathroom door unlock. She turned and met her husband’s eyes.

“What are you doing here, BK? Can’t you see I’m not done bathing?”

“Taking a bath too, baby. I was thinking maybe we could bathe together.”

“That line is so overused, BK. What next? You’ll say it’s for conservation?” He only laughed as he started undressing.

“What else am I supposed to do, baby? Isn’t your punishment a bit too much?” he asked while stepping closer. He was completely naked and annoyingly proud of it. Okay, fine, gifted and attractive or whatever, but she did her best to ignore him. Whenever her defenses weakened, she pretended to be annoyed again. Sometimes she felt sorry for him, but still, nothing compared to what he did to her.

She couldn’t look at him, so she shifted positions. She turned her back and closed her eyes again, sinking deeper into the warm water.

Her eyes shot open when she felt his lips on hers.

“B-BK, we’re not okay yet,” she said as she looked up at him. Her vision was flipped because he was standing above her.

He smiled and leaned in, whispering by her ear. “We’re good. You’re talking to me again, and we’ve been sleeping beside each other. So for me, we’re okay now, baby.” She scrunched her nose and pushed his face away, but he only came closer again to whisper, “Come on, please? I’ve missed you so much.”

A shiver ran down her spine, not from fear, duh, but from his teasing.

He moved away from her head and slowly walked closer, eyes locked on her.

“A-are you seducing me, BK? Did you forget I’m pregnant?”

“C’mon, baby. I’m not seducing you. You’ve been attracted to me for a long time already.”

“You’re so full of yourself!”

“If you weren’t attracted to me, would we have two babies now?” he said as he stepped into the tub.

“Can you go shower over there, BK?” she snapped.

“Okay,” he said, while walking toward her.

“I said over there!” She pointed at the shower.

“Yeah.”

She suddenly clung to his neck when he scooped her up without warning.

“Put me down, BK! Can’t you see I’m not done yet?” she said angrily.

“You’re pregnant. You shouldn’t soak for too long, or you might catch a cold.”

“The water’s warm, though.”

“Still.”

“I literally just got in!”

She shut her eyes when he suddenly kissed her, fast and sudden. It made her swallow hard, something warm stirring inside her. After that, he stepped out of the tub with her in his arms. He gently set her down under the shower.

Annoyed, she turned away from him. She turned on the shower and started soaping herself.

While scrubbing, she felt him wrap his arms around her from behind. She ignored him even while rinsing off.

Her breath hitched when his lips brushed her shoulder, then pressed another soft kiss, trailing up to her neck.

“B-BK,” she whispered when his lips moved to her earlobe.

“Marry me again, baby,” he murmured, making her freeze.

He opened his hand, revealing something inside.

She gasped when she saw the customized ring, with their initials, D and B, and a heart between them. The heart and letters were lined with diamonds, making the design stand out beautifully.

She faced him, stunned.

“Daphne Frost Hernandez, will you be my wife for the second time around? And this time, no more secrets and lies, baby.”

She admitted she liked what he was doing. She had been thinking about it too, marrying him again. A real wedding this time, because they truly loved each other.

“You’re serious, BK? In the bathroom?” she asked, lips twitching upward. She wanted to laugh but held it in.

“Why not, baby? You can propose anywhere. What matters is your answer,” he said with a smile.

“And how are you so sure I’ll marry you again?” she asked, hands on her hips.

She saw his shoulders fall. His smile faded, and she almost laughed.

“Okay. Maybe this really is bad timing.” He sighed, picked up his clothes, and walked toward her to kiss her forehead. “Take your time, baby. Just remember that I love you so much,” he said, forcing a smile.

He turned away, and she frowned.

He was already near the door when she spoke.

“So that’s it? You’re giving up already?”

He looked back. “Of course not, baby. I’m not giving up on you. I’m giving you time to think. Whenever you’re ready, whenever you want to open up to me again. I’ll wait. I accept that… because of the mistakes I made. So don’t worry about me, okay?”

BK finally stepped out, and she remained frozen in place, staring at the door he had exited.

Was she punishing him too much? She knew his shoulders dropping earlier meant he was hurt. He didn’t show it, but she felt disappointed. She had planned to accept his proposal, anyway. Why wait when their second child was on the way? And she loved him so much. Of course she would say yes.

When she stepped out of the bathroom, BK wasn’t in their room but came back later already showered. He must’ve gone home to bathe. He immediately played with Mirielle when he saw the baby awake.

“Just reminding you, baby, we’re eating lunch at the house today.”

“Thanks for reminding me,” she said with a smile.

She had completely forgotten because of what happened. She hadn’t changed the baby’s clothes yet or prepared anything they needed to bring. They would probably be out until evening.

And she was right. They ended up eating dinner at BK’s house too because the men wanted to drink with her father. She and the baby went home after dinner so the child could rest. She had Yaya stay behind to help there.

Once the baby fell asleep, she lay down as well. But she couldn’t sleep, thinking about her husband. She waited for him to come home. She tried calling him, but he didn’t answer. She ended up calling his brother just to check.

“We finished early, Daph. He’s not there yet?”

“No.” She kept her tone neutral so he wouldn’t ask questions. “Maybe he’s still at ho
me. I’ll try calling.”

“Alright. Good night, sis,” Max said.

“G-good night.”

She sighed as she ended the call.

Where could he be?
