Chapter 150 Abigail, You Are So Stupid!

"Miss Peterson, Mr. Harrison said he'd be with you," Ondine said, unable to hold back when she saw Abigail not responding.

Seeing that Abigail still didn't react, Ondine simply helped her up and handed her over to Edward.

The moment Abigail's hand fell into his warm palm, her body trembled, and she pulled her hand back.

Instantly, both Murray and Ondine felt a chill that seemed to freeze their bones.

"I'll go by myself," Abigail said, walking out and passing by Edward, who grabbed her wrist.

"I can manage on my own," she repeated.

"Manage what? Making yourself sick again?" Edward's voice was as cold as his demeanor.

Abigail's heart felt like it was cracking under the icy words.

"I—"

"You can't take care of yourself without me! What's the point of being stubborn? Are you happy to risk the baby's life?"

Each sentence hit her like a ton of bricks.

Abigail's face turned pale.

"Mr. Harrison—" Ondine and Murray couldn't bear to listen anymore and tried to intervene.

Edward's sharp glance silenced them.

Mr. Harrison was really being harsh.

Abigail took a deep breath, swallowing her sobs and vulnerability. "Don't worry, I can take care of my child!"

With that, she shook off Edward's hand and staggered out of the house.

Murray called for someone to follow her, but Edward stopped him, "No one is to follow her!"

The bodyguards looked at Edward, then at Murray.

"Mr. Harrison, Miss Peterson is still pregnant and had a high fever just yesterday!" Murray said, his face full of worry as he watched Abigail leave alone, unsure of what to do.

"Mr. Harrison, Miss Peterson—" Ondine also tried to persuade him.

"Anyone who dares to follow her can leave and never come back. Don't forget who pays your salaries!" Edward got into his car and drove off.

From Beverly Hills Mansion to the company, it was a long drive.

Along the way, the driver glanced outside, pretending to be casual, but didn't see any sign of Abigail.

When the car arrived at the company, the driver could feel the already cold interior of the car getting even colder.

His teeth began to chatter.

Fortunately, after Mr. Harrison got out, the temperature inside the car quickly rose.

If he wasn't mistaken, Mr. Harrison had glanced out the window several times on the way. Was he looking for Miss Peterson?

Should he go look for her?

As he was contemplating, Murray called, his voice urgent. "Have you seen Miss Peterson?"

As soon as Edward left, Murray sent the bodyguards out to find her.

They searched everywhere, even the small paths, but found nothing.

"No, I haven't seen Miss Peterson."

Hearing that, Murray immediately deflated.

Ondine was so frustrated that she was about to cry. Why hadn't she stopped Miss Peterson?

"Keep calling her until she answers!" Murray said wearily to Ondine.

Ondine agreed, and just as she pulled out her phone, it rang.

"It's Miss Peterson!" Ondine shouted in surprise.

"Answer it!" Murray was also excited.

No matter what, letting a pregnant woman leave in anger was dangerous. If something happened, it would be a tragedy.

A few seconds later, Ondine hung up.

Murray looked at her eagerly. "What did Miss Peterson say?"

"Miss Peterson is already at the company. She's safe and told us not to worry," Ondine said, smiling through her tears.

"That's great! As long as she's safe, that's all that matters."

The two, who were over a hundred years old combined, felt a sense of relief.

Abigail put down her phone and returned to her office.

All the employees were watching her and the box she was carrying.

Wasn't Miss Peterson supposed to be in the CEO's office? Why was she back?

Was she sent back?

"Miss Peterson, what is this..."

Everyone was new and only knew Abigail from rumors.

They had heard she was not to be messed with.

"Recently, due to personal reasons, I've been taking a lot of time off. Starting today, I'll be back in the office, working with everyone. Please take care of me," Abigail said.

With that, she retreated to her private office, closing the door to shut out the prying eyes.

"Do you think Miss Peterson was sent back by Mr. Harrison?"

"When she left, I heard Daniel personally moved her things. Now look, she's back with her tail between her legs. She was probably sent back."

"If she was really sent back, would she have the nerve to come back?"

"Let's wait and see. We shouldn't offend her."

Time was running out, and everyone hurried back to work.

Their department had split off from the design department, so they had a fair amount of work.

Sometimes, when the main department was busy, they would be called in to help, so seeing someone from the design department wasn't unusual.

"Miss Peterson is back?" Mabel, who was in charge of coordination, asked.

"Yes, Mabel, do you know Miss Peterson?"

"Not only do I know her, we're good friends." Smiling, Mabel walked to Abigail's office and knocked on the door.

Hearing a voice inviting her in, Mabel put on a big smile.

"Abigail, it's Mabel."

Abigail was stunned to see her.

Wasn't she fired?

Wait, what did she say her name was? Mabel?

"You're the one who..."

"Yes, it's me, Abigail. I didn't expect us to meet again so soon."

Abigail pursed her lips. "But weren't you fired, right?"

"Yes, but someone appreciated me and hired me back. Now I'm in the customer service department under the design department."

"That's great. You're amazing."

Going from a designer to customer service was quite a downgrade.

If it were her, she might not have been able to handle it.

Mabel was still so cheerful and enthusiastic. She had a great attitude.

"It's nothing. Having a job is good enough. I'm not like you; I have to rely on myself."

Abigail's face changed instantly.

"I'm sorry, Abigail. I didn't mean it that way. I just... Oh, I'm so bad with words. Actually, it was a blessing in disguise. I have no talent for design, but now I deal with clients every day, and I'm thriving. Look, I'm already a manager."

Mabel pointed to her badge, still smiling.

"Mabel, back then I..."

Mabel took Abigail's hand. "Don't say that. I was too scared to help you. I can't imagine if something had happened to you because I stood by. I would have felt guilty forever."

Since they were at work, they couldn't chat for long.

When Mabel left Abigail's office, she smiled at the staff. "Abigail is a very talented designer who has won awards. You should learn from her and not take advantage of her good nature."

Abigail smiled, playfully glaring at her.

"Alright, Abigail, I won't disturb your work. If you need anything, just call me. I'll be there."

As she left the office, Mabel's smile faded.

She smirked. 'Abigail, you're so naive. How do you attract men like this?'
