Chapter 262
Leon's words made Damon laugh. Damon gestured and said, "You think I'm scared? I just got orders to kill you and make it look like an accident."
Damon then prepared to leave. He was a cautious man. As long as he wasn't at the scene, it had nothing to do with him.
The mercenaries nodded. They'd been paid, so they had to follow Damon's orders.
One of the mercenaries approached Leon, ready to take him out.
But suddenly, Leon stood up and kicked the mercenary in the head, sending him flying.
The other mercenaries were shocked and rushed over.
However, Leon reacted quickly and took down all the mercenaries in no time.
Most of the mercenaries were knocked out, and the few remaining ones were writhing on the ground.
They never expected Leon to be so powerful.
Damon was walking out, but suddenly, a body flew over and landed right at his feet.
Damon immediately turned around, his face showing panic.
How could this be?
So many mercenaries, and Leon took them all out?
Damon, panicking, said, "Who the hell are you?"
"I'm someone you shouldn't mess with."
"Take this message to the big shots behind you and tell them this is what happens when you cross me."
Leon walked toward Damon, who quickly backed away, saying, "Stay away from me."
Leon didn't bother with words and kicked Damon's leg, breaking his right leg.
Damon screamed in pain, rolling on the ground. Leon then broke Damon's hands and left leg. Damon, who had never experienced such pain, passed out.
Leon then used his phone to contact Bradley. When Bradley arrived, Leon ordered him to investigate the mastermind's identity before going to see Caitlin, worried she might be in danger.
At the Clark Mansion, Caitlin and Barbara were very worried. "Stephen, how much longer until we find Leon?" Caitlin asked anxiously.
"Don't worry. I've already ordered the police to start searching. We should find him soon," Stephen said calmly, sipping his coffee.
He had just ordered Damon to stage an accident to kill Leon. He thought that even if they found Leon later, he would already be a corpse.
Barbara, more composed, found the Clark Family's reaction strange and said, "Caitlin, we should leave, or you could contact someone else for help."
After Barbara spoke, Stephen frowned and said, "Who are you to interfere in this matter?"
"I've already ordered the Angel City police to act, and you still want to find someone else? Are you looking down on the Clark Family? Trying to embarrass us?"
Stephen, having been a government official for many years, had a strong presence, so Barbara didn't dare to speak further.
Caitlin hesitated, unsure of whom to trust.
Just then, a member of the Clark Family walked in and said to Stephen, "Leon is back."
Stephen was startled, dropping his coffee cup.
He thought Leon was dead. How could Leon be back? Was he a ghost?
But Stephen quickly composed himself, glanced at Charlotte, and then smiled, saying, "Looks like the Angel City police are pretty efficient, finding Leon so quickly."
The other Clark Family members were surprised but put on cooperative smiles since Stephen had spoken. They were also puzzled as to why things hadn't gone as expected.
Barbara, who had previously distrusted Stephen, was now shocked.
She suddenly thought Stephen was amazing, saving Leon with just a phone call.
When Caitlin saw Leon, she immediately hugged him, saying, "Leon, are you okay? Are you hurt?"
She was so worried she almost fainted.
Leon wiped Caitlin's tears and smiled, saying, "I'm fine, darling. Don't worry. Let's go home."
He wouldn't let the mastermind go, but he didn't want to mention it in front of Caitlin.
"No, you should take Barbara to the airport first. Her flight is about to leave. I need to discuss something with Stephen," Caitlin said.
Leon found it a bit strange but didn't ask. He took Barbara to the airport.
Meanwhile, Stephen called in a lawyer.
"Mr. Clark, Ms. Herman, according to the agreement you signed earlier, Ms. Herman's shares in the Sunshine Group must now be transferred to the Clark Family."
The lawyer handed them the document to sign.
Though Caitlin felt terrible, she signed her name.
The Clark Family members laughed. Stephen said, "Caitlin, you know the Sunshine Group well. Why don't you continue working there? I'll appoint you as the manager with a salary of $20,000. How about that?"
The other Clark Family members chimed in, "Caitlin, $20,000 is a high salary. If you work elsewhere, you won't get such a high salary. You should seize this opportunity."
Caitlin shook her head and said, "Thank you, but I have other plans."
She left, and once outside the Clark Mansion, she burst into tears.
She had worked so hard to build the Sunshine Group, but now it belonged to the Clark Family.
After Caitlin left, the Clark Family members laughed happily.
"Now the Clark Family is the most powerful family in Angel City."
"It went so smoothly. That bitch sold her shares so easily."
"Stephen is amazing, handling this so effortlessly."
They were very proud, having finally acquired the Sunshine Group after so much preparation.
Charlotte frowned and said, "Stephen, we got the Sunshine Group, but Leon is still alive. We haven't completed Alexander's task."
Stephen smiled and said, "Mom, the deadline hasn't passed yet. I don't know what happened, but I'm sure the Ford Family and the Palmer Family won't let Leon go. Don't worry."
