Chapter 260

Damon leaned back in his chair and said, "Since we can't find anyone local to help, why don't we look for someone outside of Rock State? I've heard there are plenty of mercenaries who'll do anything for the right price. As long as we pay them, they should be able to take care of Leon without a hitch."

Philip and Charlotte exchanged impressed glances. Philip turned to Spencer and said, "Spencer, your kid's got a sharp mind. We've been racking our brains, but we never thought of this."

Spencer beamed with pride. Damon, the heir to the Palmer Family, had come up with such a clever plan. It made Spencer feel incredibly proud.

Charlotte nodded thoughtfully, "I think Damon's idea is solid. Why don't we let him handle this? What do you think?"

"If this works out, we'll owe the Palmer Family big time," Philip said. "I'll remember this favor."

"And I'll make sure to repay it," Philip added, "If you can find these professional killers, I can arrange a place for them to stay where no one will notice."

Spencer nodded, "No problem. Let's do it. Damon will find those professional killers. If this works, we'll all be free from the Corleone family's grip, and we'll definitely rise to power."

The three of them laughed, filled with anticipation.

Damon also smiled, but his eyes were cold. Although he was the heir to the Palmer Family, he hadn't had many opportunities to prove himself. If he could pull this off, it would showcase his abilities. He had been waiting for this chance for a long time.

The next day, Leon and Caitlin were getting ready to take Barbara to the airport, as Barbara had to return to work and couldn't stay in Angel City indefinitely.

As they drove to the outskirts, several vans suddenly blocked their path, forcing Leon to stop the car.

About a dozen people in camouflage uniforms and masks, all armed with guns, emerged from the vans and aimed at Leon.

The sight terrified Caitlin and Barbara, who had never encountered anything like this before.

Leon, however, remained calm. He rolled down the window and asked, "What do you want?"

"Are you Leon?" one of the men asked, pressing a gun to Leon's forehead with a cold voice.

"Yeah, I'm Leon. What do you want?" Leon replied.

"If you're Leon, then come with us. Don't resist, or things will get very ugly for you," the man said with a strange accent, suggesting he was from another country.

Leon smiled and said, "Did you cross the border to get here? Why should I go with you?"

"Because you've pissed off some people," the man replied.

"Who?" Leon asked.

"You don't need to know that. Don't waste our time. Come with us now, or we'll hurt those two women," the man said impatiently. Even though they were on the outskirts, there was still a chance of being discovered, and if someone called the police, it would be trouble.

Leon stayed calm and said, "I'll go with you, but at least tell me who wants me."

"Fine, since you wanna know so bad, it's Damon from the Palmer Family. He ordered us to grab you," the man said, yanking open the car door and pulling Leon into the van.

Leon didn't resist, worried that any struggle might put Caitlin and Barbara in danger.

The vans sped off, leaving Caitlin and Barbara looking pale and shaken.

Barbara, her voice trembling, said, "Caitlin, what do we do? These guys are ruthless. They might kill Leon."

Even though Barbara didn't like Leon much, she didn't want him dead.

Caitlin, trying to stay calm despite feeling faint, said, "Barbara, did you catch the name they mentioned? Who was it?"

Barbara replied, "They said Damon, the heir to the Palmer Family."

Caitlin frowned, "The Palmer Family is powerful in Angel City, involved in all sorts of shady stuff. Why are they after Leon? Only the Clark Family can help him now. I need to go to them."

Barbara nodded, "I'll go with you."

The situation was so sudden that both women were at a loss.

Meanwhile, in the van, Leon had been hooded. The kidnappers were clearly pros, not their first rodeo.

But Leon stayed calm. He'd been a soldier and faced worse.

He sat quietly, thinking. Why was the Palmer Family targeting him? He had no beef with them.

The van eventually arrived at an estate owned by the Ford family, big in real estate and with many properties in Angel City. The place was secluded, off the radar.

Leon was taken to a basement, which was very secure. Once his hood was removed, he saw many mercenaries staring at him.

Leon knew these guys were just hired muscle, not the brains behind the operation.

After a while, the basement door opened, and a very handsome man walked in.

The man looked at Leon and smiled, "Leon, you're not just Caitlin's husband but also the acting president of the Eagle Group, right?"

Leon asked, "Who are you? I don't know you."

The man smiled and said, "Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Damon from the Palmer Family."

Leon frowned, not recalling any conflict with the Palmer Family. He asked, "Do we have any grudges?"

Damon shook his head. "No, but you made a mistake. You shouldn't have crossed Alexander."

"So, Alexander sent you to do this," Leon said with a cold, disdainful laugh.

Damon was taken aback. Alexander was a big shot. Even though he had moved to Crystal City, few in Angel City dared to speak ill of him.

But Leon clearly had no respect for Alexander.
