Chapter 323 Ann Is Angry

Ann was shocked. "Mr. Matt, you... You have a knife?"

"I just went to the crime scene," Matt explained slowly.

As soon as he spoke, everyone present instantly felt their hair stand on end. They looked at his white coat and the knife in his hand.

Finally, Kelly trembled as she hid behind Ann.

"Then... Did you just dissect ... a ... corpse?"

As soon as Kelly said this, no matter how festive the room was, it was inexplicably tainted with a sense of gloom.

Under the silent gazes of the crowd, Matt slowly picked up something that looked like a medical box on the ground.

He opened it slowly, and there was a row of neat knives and even a small drill.

"This is for dissecting the brain. This is for the chest and abdomen, and this is..." He pointed at his tools as he said.

"Alright, stop talking!" Ann stopped him in a trembling voice. "I want to vomit."

Those knives were actually all clean, but Matt's explanation was too detailed. When she listened, she could even imagine the scene of the dissection involuntarily.

Todd saw that Daisy's face was also a little pale. He stepped forward and covered Matt's box. He slapped Matt on the back of his head.

"No wonder you haven't had a girlfriend for so many years. If you keep introducing these things, everyone will be scared away!"

Matt touched his head and silently looked up at Todd. He pointed at Daisy, who was lying on the bed.

"I have a fiancée."

Todd's face instantly darkened, and he gnashed his teeth.

"That is your sister-in-law!"

Matt glanced at Daisy, who was lying on the bed with her head slightly lowered and her expression unreadable. While Ann and Kelly were looking at him in surprise, he used the surgical knife to cut off the cake and responded slowly.

"Not yet."

"I heard that this cake is very delicious. How dare I eat it after you..." Kelly cried.

When Matt was eating, his black eyes were shining.

He quickly finished a piece and slowly explained.

"This set of tools is new. It has just been disinfected, and I haven't used it yet.

"Compared to the knife from the cake shop, it is even cleaner and more harmless."

"But you just said that you just came from the crime scene!"

"Yes, my colleague brought the other set of knives back."

A good forensic expert could not only have one set of knives.

That night, Todd stayed in Daisy's ward as usual. After Kelly finished eating the cake and gave Ann a gift, she left in a hurry. She really had a date today.

When Ann and Matt left the ward, they turned around and looked at Todd. Almost everyone thought he was a playboy. However, he was smiling shyly now. Under Daisy's cold eyes, he slowly removed the decoration of the ward.

Ann couldn't help but curve her lips into a smile and close the door.

"Mr. Matt, do you have anyone you like?" she asked, looking up at Matt, who was carrying a big cake box.

Matt slowly turned to look at her. "Yes."

"Who?" Ann was a little surprised.

"Gordon Ramsay."

Ann's eyes were blank.

"A great chef," Matt explained kindly.

"Fine." Sure enough, she couldn't expect too much.

"Mr. Matt, you don't like Daisy. Then why did you agree to the engagement?" Ann pursed her lips.

Matt glanced at her with his dark eyes and silently walked forward.

They had arrived at the entrance of the hospital. Phillip's car was parked not far away. Ann had already tacitly agreed that Matt would not answer this question. She raised her leg and was about to go to Phillip's side when Matt's voice came from the side.

"Because if I don't agree, someone else will agree to the engagement."

Ann stopped.

The lights at the entrance of the hospital were not bright, and Matt's eyes were clear, but he looked cold.

"The marriage between the two families can't be canceled. If it's not me, it might be my brothers."

If it was him, he would let Todd be engaged to her as long as Todd was willing to return to the Quelch's home, but if it was any other brother, with Daisy's appearance and background, it would be a farce.

Ann did not have time to ask. Phillip honked at them in the car and lowered the window.

Matt nodded at Phillip and carried the big cake box back to his car.

Ann got into the car and put the gift she received in the back seat.

Phillip took a look and did not ask further.

He leaned over and helped Ann fasten her seat belt. He smelled the faint milk fragrance on her body. He looked up and saw the smile on her face.

"Are you happy?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

Ann pursed her lips and nodded. She looked at him with sparkling eyes as if she was expecting him to continue asking something.

Phillip swallowed slightly when seeing her bright eyes. He couldn't help but kiss her in this position before sitting up straight as if nothing had happened. He didn't ask any more questions.

Ann was not used to him like this.

Today, Daisy and the others especially did not let Phillip come because they felt that Phillip would prepare a surprise for her alone.

However, he also saw the gift in her hand just now. Why didn't he say anything?

Did he really want to keep the surprise until tomorrow?

However, when Ann woke up the next morning, Phillip still did not say anything.

As usual, he waited for her to finish her breakfast. Then, he sent the children to the kindergarten and sent her to the studio. He told her that he had something to do at noon and that he would pick her up for dinner at night. There was nothing else.

Ann did not know why, but she was somewhat annoyed.

She was the mother of three children, and she did not care much about her birthday.

It was just that something could be ignored by everyone, but the person she liked could not.

As a result, after Phillip spoke, Ann remained silent and did not get out of the car, only staring at him with watery eyes.

"Do you have anything else to say?"

Phillip stared at her face and seemed to be a little confused.

Ann's slender hands tugged at the corner of her clothes, and she wanted to get out of the car just like that, but in the end, she still had a little anticipation.

Maybe he was too busy with work recently and couldn't remember it, so she just reminded him.

She pursed her lips. "Do you know what day it is today?"

Phillip looked at her careful and expectant eyes. He could not help but want to raise the corners of his lips, but he suppressed it and pretended not to know.

"What festival is it? There are no festivals, right?" he asked, looking at Ann.

Ann's eyes gradually became sad.

Phillip raised a hand to his lips to cover the smile on his lips.

"Right! Is it Halloween? Do you want to prepare something for the kids?"

Ann closed her eyes and didn't want to talk to him for a short time.

She unbuckled her seat belt, opened the door, got out of the car, and closed it with a little force.

Seeing Phillip's surprised gaze in the car, she was a little angry. Her delicate and beautiful facial features were about to wrinkle.

"I have to work overtime today and I will take a taxi back!"

She was so angry. Even Todd, Matt, and the others who were not familiar with her knew her birthday, but he actually did not remember it!
