Chapter 193 Warning to the Anderson Group

Chapter 193 Warning to the Anderson Group

As soon as Hazel finished speaking, the reporters all shivered in unison.

"Ms. Anderson, you must be joking. We saw the situation was resolved, so we didn't want to bother you any further."

They had hoped to get some exclusive news to boost their ratings.

Who would have thought those two women would bring fake evidence to blackmail RH Aromatics?

Not only did they waste their time, but they almost offended Hazel.

Everyone knew that Hazel had Lawrence Johnson from the Johnson Family backing her.

Even though the two were currently on a break, who could say for sure what might happen?

Kelly, having seen enough of these unscrupulous reporters, scoffed and said, "Alright, get out of here. You know what to do about today's incident, right?"

"Yes, yes, we know what to do!"

The reporters, relieved to be dismissed by Kelly, expressed their gratitude profusely.

As soon as Kelly's words fell, the reporters hurriedly left, as if a monster was chasing them.

Watching their retreating figures, Kelly and Hazel couldn't help but laugh.

Somehow, the news of the commotion at RH Aromatics reached Lawrence's ears.

Hazel had just returned to her office with a cup of coffee when she received a call from Lawrence.

"Honey! What made you call me at this time? Have you already met with that person?"

Hazel answered the call, not giving Lawrence a chance to speak first.

"I heard someone caused trouble for you?"

Lawrence's voice came through after a brief pause.

"Oh, that. They've already left. I called the police, and they were taken away. I'm sure there will be results soon. You wouldn't believe how terrible their acting was. They had no evidence and just came with banners to insult us! And the perfume bottles they brought were so poorly made, like something from a small workshop. Trying to pass off such shoddy products as mine? They're in for a big trouble!"

Hazel launched into a rant.

On the other end, Lawrence listened quietly, a smile forming on his lips.

Just hearing Hazel's voice seemed to soothe his emotions.

It was a wonderful feeling.

"The police should have results soon. What do you plan to do once you know?"

Lawrence asked. Hazel, holding her coffee, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, took a sip, and replied.

"If I find out who's behind this, I won't let them off easily!"

Hazel then asked, "Honey, did Garth tell you anything about what happened back then?"

Her tone softened immediately.

"He did. I'll tell you everything when I get home tonight."

Upon hearing that Lawrence was willing to share, Hazel's eyebrows lifted in delight. "Great, we'll talk tonight then. You get back to work. Bye, love you!"

She blew a kiss into the phone and hung up before Lawrence could respond.

Soon after, Hazel received a call from the police about the two middle-aged women who had caused the scene.

It turned out they were sent by the Anderson Group to tarnish RH Aromatics' reputation.

Hearing this, Hazel clenched her fists but managed to thank the police calmly.

When Kelly came in and saw Hazel's grim expression, she immediately guessed what had happened.

"What's wrong, Hazel? Did you get news about those troublemakers?"

It was clear they were close friends.

Hazel nodded. "The police just called. Those two were sent by someone to smear us."

Kelly's voice rose in anger. "Who would be so shameless?"

Hazel replied slowly, "It was the Anderson Group."

Kelly was stunned. "The Anderson Group is about to be acquired, and they're still causing trouble?"

"Maybe they don't want to be acquired, so they're trying to mess with us."

Hazel's anger had subsided a bit.

"We can't let this slide. We need to hit back, or they'll think RH Aromatics is an easy target."

Kelly rolled up her sleeves, ready for action.

Hazel smiled knowingly. "You're right, Kelly. I have a plan to teach the Anderson Group a lesson."

Kelly looked curious. "What's the plan?"

"The Anderson Group has a history of tax evasion. When Russell took over from Keith, he didn't address it. Now the company is in serious financial trouble."

Hazel stopped there, and Kelly clapped her hands. "Let's have the IRS take a closer look at their taxes."

"That should keep Russell busy."

Hazel went off to set things in motion.

This would serve as a warning to Russell and his team.

She didn't necessarily have to acquire the Anderson Group. She could just let it go bankrupt.

What she wanted were the Anderson Group's assets, Rachel's perfume formulas, and their factories.

There were other ways to get those.

As the workday ended, Lawrence texted Hazel, saying he was waiting downstairs.

Hazel happily left work and saw Lawrence's car as soon as she stepped out.

Once inside, she saw Lawrence handing her a paper bag.

The aroma of food wafted from it.

She opened it to find her favorite cupcakes.

Delighted, Hazel smiled. "Thank you, honey."

Even small treats like this made Hazel feel cherished because she knew Lawrence cared about her.

"Did you get any updates on those troublemakers?"

Lawrence asked as he watched Hazel enjoy her cupcake.

"Yes, guess who sent them?"

"Russell and his team?"

Lawrence guessed, and Hazel's eyes widened in surprise. "How did you know? You're so smart, honey. You deserve a reward."

She scooped a bit of the cupcake and offered it to Lawrence.

He initially wanted to refuse, but seeing Hazel's expectant eyes, he relented.
