Chapter 182 Eddy
Chapter 182 Eddy
"Lawrence, what's up with you guys? Did Hazel get the wrong idea about me? I can clear things up with her. I don't want to mess up your relationship."
Susan masked her true feelings and spoke carefully.
Lawrence replied coolly, "No need. This isn't about you. She'll figure it out."
As soon as Lawrence finished, Susan's eyes brightened a bit.
So, he was not planning to comfort her?
Weren't they head over heels before? Look at them now.
A flood of thoughts raced through Susan's mind.
Lawrence had his back to Susan, but his gaze was as deep as the night sky.
Seeing that Lawrence wasn't saying anything else, Susan stepped forward and offered, "Lawrence, there are a lot of people at the exhibition, and it's tough for you in a wheelchair. How about I stick with you?"
A quick flash of coldness passed through Lawrence's eyes, but he still looked at Susan and smiled.
"Thank you, Ms. Knight."
Lawrence was already incredibly handsome, and his smile at that moment was gentle, making Susan lose herself for a moment.
It was often risky to be overly captivated by someone's appearance.
"Ms. Knight, you've been back in the country for a while now. How's your father?"
Lawrence and Susan were on the second floor, one sitting and one standing.
Suddenly, Lawrence asked, and Susan's face froze, meeting Lawrence's gaze.
She was startled, feeling as if Lawrence had seen through her hesitation and fear.
But it was only for a moment. Susan quickly adjusted her emotions.
"My dad's okay. If he knew you were thinking about him, Lawrence, he'd be very happy."
Not missing any change in Susan's expression, Lawrence's face showed a hint of interest. "After all, your father had connections with the Johnson Family back then. It's only right for me to be concerned. How have you been abroad all these years?"
Susan was puzzled by his sudden question.
For some reason, she felt there was more to Lawrence's inquiry.
But as she looked at his expression again, there was nothing unusual.
Susan paused, a faint smile on her face. "My parents have always remembered the Johnson Family. After all, Lawrence, you and I once had an engagement."
Her voice grew softer towards the end, but the shy smile on her face betrayed her true thoughts.
Lawrence, sitting in his wheelchair, narrowed his eyes slightly, a flash of coldness passing through them.
But it quickly disappeared.
"Is that so?"
In a corner on the first floor of the venue, Kelly stood beside Hazel.
From their angle, they could see the second floor.
Seeing Susan standing next to Lawrence, Kelly scoffed, "She's really taking advantage of the situation. Be careful, your husband might actually be stolen by her."
Hazel crossed her arms and smiled slightly.
"I trust him. If someone like Susan can lure him away, then he's not worth keeping."
Her tone carried a hint of dominance, earning Kelly's admiration and a thumbs-up.
"Ms. Anderson, Ms. Ross."
A female voice sounded behind them. Turning around, they saw Mona.
Hazel smiled, "Ms. Schmidt, thanks for all your hard work today."
Mona shook her head, "Ms. Anderson, you're too kind. This is my job, and I'm happy to represent RH Aromatics."
Though Hazel knew most of Mona's words were just polite, she still appreciated them.
The exhibition lasted three days, but RH Aromatics had no more events after the first day.
After spending half a day at the exhibition, Hazel and Kelly returned to the company in the afternoon.
That day, RH Aromatics and Mona were trending online.
With Mona's large fan base, the announcement of her endorsement led to a significant increase in pre-orders for Reminisce on RH Aromatics' website.
When Nyla brought the compiled data to Hazel, Kelly was also in the office.
Seeing Kelly, Nyla paused, "Ms. Ross, you're back."
Kelly nodded. After seeing the pre-order numbers on the website, both she and Hazel were astonished.
It was almost half of RH Aromatics' previous total sales.
"The lab is going to be extremely busy."
Kelly joked, "Hazel, the factory will need to expand. If RH Aromatics keeps growing, the production line will face increasing pressure."
For convenience, the lab was built in the factory they had previously purchased.
Now it seemed they needed to plan for expansion.
Hazel spoke, "The Anderson Group already has its own factory. We can use that for now and postpone the expansion."
Kelly rested her chin on her hand, "Didn't you say Lawrence was working on acquiring the Anderson Group? How's that going?"
"Stuart has started initial talks with the Anderson Group's executives. It's not finalized yet."
Hazel replied honestly, then turned to Nyla, "Contact the lab and have them prepare in advance to avoid supply issues."
Nyla nodded, "Yes, Ms. Anderson."
After agreeing, Nyla left the office.
Near the end of the workday, Lawrence sent Hazel a message.
[Hazel, do you want to see a show?]
Immediately, Hazel had a thought.
Lawrence must be up to something again.
[What kind of show?]
Curious, Hazel replied without hesitation. The next moment, Lawrence called her directly.
"I'll have Jason pick you up. We're going somewhere."
Lawrence's deep, magnetic voice came through the phone, and Hazel raised an eyebrow, thinking about Susan at the exhibition. She teased, "Ms. Knight isn't with you?"
Hearing Hazel's jealous tone, Lawrence chuckled.
"I'm back at the company. Why would she stay with me? Besides, my heart belongs to you."
Lawrence's gentle voice sent a shiver through Hazel, making her feel both thrilled and tingly.
Their conversation felt like flirting. Luckily, Kelly wasn't in the office, or she'd start teasing them.
"Smooth talker. Tell me, whose show are we watching?"
"Eddy Bowers. Do you know him?"
After Lawrence's question, Hazel thought about everyone she knew or might know. "Never heard of him."
"He's the man you saw with Susan last time."
