Zane’s POV
I woke up with Zara wrapped around me snoring gently. I looked down and could see her stomach was already starting to swell slightly. Thankfully it was very slight, and I didn’t think any of the other vampires would notice.
“Ready for a hunt my love?” I whispered in her ear
“Yes” she grinned as she opened her eyes “We will also need to check with Bethany for how often I need your blood”
“Let’s get dress and you can ask her while we eat, so are you feeling better about been pregnant again?”
“Still shocked” she sighed “But it’s not like I will have four babies to look after”
“That is true” I chuckled “Let’s get dressed and see how much our twins have changed overnight”
“At least mum and dad will be prepared for it” I sighed “Unlike us the first night”
We both got ready in clothes that would be easy to run and fight in and then headed down to join the others. The twins were already sat at the table with everyone, and Betty was already bringing the food out.
“How often do I need to give Zara my blood?” I asked Bethany as I sat down and pulled Zara on to my lap.
“How do you feel?” she asked Zara
“Fine” she shrugged “I only started to get tired yesterday in the afternoon”
“Go by how she feels” Bethany told us “If she gets tired, give her blood”
“Are we going to feed the hunters before the hunt?” Albert asked
“I was thinking I would be nice and stock the container with some food” I told him “Give them the same supplies as the convicts get, just without the weapons”
“Do you want us to get that loaded up while the others eat?” Gerald asked
“We will all go and get it set up” I told them as I kissed Zara and stood up and placed her back on the seat I just vacated. “I will be back soon”
“Bye” she grinned as she started to eat.
“How is she coping?” Gerald asked once we arrived at my storage unit
“Better then yesterday” I chuckled “Like she said, it’s not like we will have four babies to look after as the twins are already kids now”
“They will be grown up by the time the next lot arrive” Albert chuckled as he loaded up his arms and disappeared.
“True” I chuckled as I followed suit.
Soon the container on the island was full of supplies and we all headed back to the tower just as the first lot of vampires started to arrive.
Once I showed everyone their rooms, the people who would take part in the hunt met in the lounge. The twins went with Ivy and Zara’s parents to the lookout tower so that they could watch the hunt.
“Ok” I grinned “Albert and Bethany will go and free the hunters since Bethany can make them both invisible. Once they are free, we will hunt them down, I only ask that you leave the leader Dennis. If the other hunters don’t kill him, then I plan on locking him away and then we have a sirens blood on tap for the vampires when we have the games here”
“We will go and free them now” Bethany cackled as she disappeared with Albert
“I will also take my twins out for a feed at some stage” I told everyone “They are growing quickly and need blood”
“We will take them out after lunch” Zara smiled “Or they can come and feed off who I kill”
“We will let them feed from the ones you kill” I told her “Just let me know so I can stand watch with you while they feed”
“Of course,” she purred and I knew exactly where her mind had gone, we both knew my girl got turned on around blood and we both knew the twins would be able to come to Zara and leave on their own.
“Let’s go kill us some hunters” I yelled as I pulled Zara into my arms and transported us to the forest close to the hidden path.
The other vampires soon joined us just as we heard the ragged breaths of the hunters running down the path. Then we heard the screams and I knew that some had missed their footing and fallen over the cliff.
“How many fell?” she asked me
“Too many” I chuckled “Silly hunters and killing themselves”
“Are we free to go and kill?” Nick asked
“Go and have fun” I told them all “The sooner they are all dead the sooner my mate and I can go and get settled in our new home”
A few seconds after they all left, the screaming started “Looks like the party has started my love”
“See you soon hubby” Zara chuckled as she gave me a quick kiss before running off.
I could feel the hearts stopping all around me, and I had a feeling the hunt might be finished by the end of today. I blended into the shadows and started focused on finding Dennis, I wanted to see what shape he was in before I found someone to feed from. It didn’t take me long to find him, and I was pissed to see that he was the first one to find the container. I watched him start to load up a bag and he was just about to make a run for it when four hunters surrounded him.
“Where do you think you are going?” one of them snarled “We are here, and we are all going to die, because of you”
“That was not me” he sobbed “They made me say those things, none of it is true”
“They could have not known about the things you said” another guy growled
“Get him”
The men all moved in, and I grinned as they beat him to death with their fists and anything else they could grab. Then one of the men found a large rock and brough it down on Dennis’s skull with a sickening thud. I listened as his heart slowed before finally stopping and then men went into the container and grabbed their supplies before leaving.
“Such a waste of siren blood” I chuckled as I picked him up and dumping him back at the top of the hill and called Albert.
“Can you get Bethany to drain the rest of Dennis’s blood for me. I have dumped him at the top of the hill. He was beat to death by some of his hunter friends”
“I will send her now” he chuckled
