Silent Pain
Silent Pain
Evans felt like his heart had been removed, pierced through, torn and stepped on.
His eyes pierced through the image of the two handsome men in the picture who looked like a perfect couple. His face turned pale, his fingers which clenched the phone turned white and his lips trembled.
“Hello..? Sir, do you still want to go anywhere? If not, can I get paid?”
The voice of the driver interrupted Evans. He raised his head and kept looking at the driver’s face but he looked more like a lost deer.
Heartbroken, lost and abandoned by its loved ones.
The driver who was about to raise his voice in annoyance closed his parted mouth after seeing how lost Evans was. He furrowed his brows and watched him for a while before looking down to see the phone Evans was clenching furiously.
“A..Are you alright? Do you want me to take you to the hospital?” The driver asked, his voice low and gentle as he seemed to realise Evans wasn't in the right state of mind.
As if he had just woken up from a dream, Evans suddenly let out a shaky smile which made the driver wince.
He felt that it was better for him not to smile at all as his smile was a pain to the eyes. He looked worn out, like he could collapse at any moment.
“Can you please take me back to the place you picked me up from?” Evans requested, his voice calm, but his eyes surged with crazy emotions he couldn't hide. “I-I’ve money! I’ll pay you, okay—” He choked at the end of his words, but swallowed hard and clenched the bills he held.
“No! Don't cry! Hop in, okay? Let's go!”
The drive was silent, and Evans looked out of the window the whole time in a daze. His phone kept ringing but it was like he couldn't hear it.
He only snapped out of his daze after the driver announced they had arrived.
Evans walked step by step to the house, he punched in the passkey and entered with a gentle pace, but if you saw him well, you would easily notice his rough steps.
Immediately he locked the door, he slumped down on the floor with his back resting on the door, then buried his head between his legs. His shoulders shook but Evans didn't shed a single tear.
He had said he wouldn't cry anymore, he had promised himself he wouldn't care or get hurt anymore but…
“Darn it! This hurt so much..”He cursed in a choked voice.
After inhaling deeply, he raised his head to reveal his dry face, smiled softly, then stood up with the support of the wall.
He walked step by step towards the table where the dinner he had prepared lay, then walked to the kitchen where he had kept Nathan’s food, and brought it out before arranging it all on the table.
He sat down calmly, and without a word, he began to eat expressionlessly.
He pulled his plate which had gone cold to himself and gobbled it up like it was nothing. His face was expressionless, and he kept chugging it down his throat.
Suddenly he paused, hit his chest and began coughing crazily, he picked up the water he had placed next to himself and drank it all, washing down the large chunk of food stuck in his throat, but after that, he continued without a word.
His eyes were red after he finished eating his plate, and like a beast, he picked up Nathan’s share then began to eat it too.
His fingers shook as he forced the food down his throat, his face turned red from suffocation and his eyes showed his veins but he didn't stop whatever he was doing until he had finished it all.
The utensil in his hand fell on the plate.
“Puff puff… Urggh!” He groaned and fell on the ground.
After a while, he stood up again, picked up the plates and dragged his feet to the kitchen. Even if he was in so much pain that he was sweating, he still kept dragging his feet with an expressionless face to his room.
After Evans got to his room, he fell on the bed and closed his eyes to sleep.
No tears, no cursing, no blame and just silent pains which he endured all by himself.
On the other end of the town, a luxurious car stopped in front of a villa but strangely no one stepped out of the car.
Inside the black car, the two males inside were silent with the bigger male with a cold aura and calm face tapping the wheels while the other man who looked cute and gentle like an intellectual gentleman stared at the cold one.
The one with a gentle aura suddenly sighed, “You don't wanna come inside?” He asked softly but the man he was talking to didn't even look at him which made him sad.
His head bowed as he played with his fingers, “Are you still angry with me, Nath? I said I’ll explain everything to you. Can you just talk to me? You’ve been like this since you came to pick me up. You—” He choked on his words and bit his full lips pitifully when he noticed the man he had been talking to wasn't even responding.
Without a word, he removed his seat belt with irritation, opened the door and banged it shut, then walked behind the car, opened the booth and struggled to carry his bag.
He gritted his teeth then walked like he was going to collapse at any time but to his disappointment, the man who was in the car didn't even come out to assist him, instead he stepped on the gas and drove away, shocking the Man who had been expecting him to come out to help.
He stood in shock as he looked at the car that drove away.
His eyes lowered and his head bowed, but after he raised his head, he had turned calm again like the gentle young master he was.
He left his bag at he spot, strolled to the front of the villa and pressed on the bell.
His frail body shivered under the cold.
“Who’s that—” The security man who saw the face of the man through the camera revealed a shocked face, then excitement as he opened the gate with fast movement.
“Eldest master, Jesse’s back!!”
