CHAPTER 22

NICOLE’S POV

As soon as I signed, Alexander’s marriage contract, the next thing he did was to take me for shopping. Yes I was totally confused but he told me that this was going to let the world know that I was his girlfriend.

Everything was well throughout the day not until when he drove me back at home.

“There is a dinner I want you to go with me”, He murmured as he headed to his bedroom.

“Dinner again? Count me out?”, I hissed.

“Trust me it is going to be better. You’re not going to run away this time.”

I scoffed as I rolled my eyes at his ignorant comment. “Nicole make sure you get dressed and ready by 7.” He smirked and without waiting for my response, he entered in his room.

By the time 7 reached, I was seated in Alexander’s car. “Where are you taking me this time?”, I asked as soon as he started the car. He ignored me and went on with driving.

“I mean this is what you did even last.....

“If you don’t shut the fuck up Nicole, I’ll turn this car off and fuck you right here, hard and deep till you’re crying for me to stop.”

His words immediately made me shut up, my mouth became dry and my palms became sweaty. I became hot, I felt like my body was on fire.

I wasn’t really expecting him to say those words and I could see the pure enjoyment on his face, he was enjoying this.

I didn’t say any other word.

The car ride was quiet but the atmosphere was hot and sexual. I was thinking about those words.

After some time we pulled into a parking lot which was filled with many cars then my nerves started to get the best of me. Alexander’s hand turned the wheel, I couldn’t help but to watch his veins become more visible.

God help me, please.

“A lot of people will be attending this dinner.” Alexander spoke.

“I need you to behave and if you don’t I’ll punish you once we get home.”

I bit my lip, I wanted to ask how he would punish me but I was to shy. I simply nodded and unbuckled myself while looking out the window. This is going to be so awkward, I was walking into my own funeral.

I was shocked when Alexander opened the door for me, he reached his hand out for mine. I cautiously took his big hand into my small one.

The purple dress that I chose to wear hugged my body even tighter once I started walking. The security guards who were standing in front of the tall building immediately stopped us from entering.

“Name?” One of the men asked.

Alexander slowly glanced down at the hand that was touching his suit, he’s dark, evil eyes glanced back up at the security guard.

“Do you want me to cut off your fucking arm?” , He growled.

The guy immediately removed his hand. Alexander seemed to be keeping his cool with his hand firmly touching the small of my back.

“Alexander Smith, idiot.”

Both men tensed up and shadowed down their heads, i watched carefully how people basically bow down to him because of his name. They opened the door, I walked in first before Alexander.

The setting was beautiful, it was a pretty champagne color with amazing lighting which was shining bright on almost everyone here. The whole table was filled with people, their power and money filled the room but once they spotted Alexander they all stopped talking.

Alexander took a sit right in the center of the table, I on the other hand tried sitting near an old gray haired man but Alexander wasn’t having none of it. He shockingly flushed me against his chest, forcing me to sit on his lap.

My cheeks reddened when everyone caught my glare.

“What has really changed him?”,

“What do you think you’re doing.” I whispered into his ear, I pulled back to stare at him.

He instead ignored me and greeted his fellow business men normally. Yes he told me to behave but this was uncalled for. What was he planning?

He ignored mw completely and continued to talk to everyone about some business, I had no idea about. He didn’t care that I was silently burning and I could barely keep my legs apart.

Soon drinks and food were served but as everyone ate, I instead went for the white wine. I couldn’t focus anymore when I was seated on Alexander’s laps. At some point, I tried to pay attention, but when my eyes fall on one of the men who were seated, he started to flirt with me, winking inconspicuously and mouthing words like ‘call me’ or ‘wanna bang sometime’ every time I glanced his way. Finally I couldn’t take it anymore.

“May I please be excused to the lavatory?” I finally rudely interrupted , rising off Alexander and smoothening my purple cocktail dress with my hands.

“Of course, it’s right around the corner.” Alexander said pointing down the hallway. “Thanks”, I smiled at him then turned to walk away but as I did I felt slightly light headed as the wine settled in the pit of my stomach. My bladder became extremely heavy with each step I took down the busy aisle where people were busily gambling and drinking. The air reeked of cigarettes and alcohol and I had to quicken my footsteps to get away from it all before I hurled out my dinner.

When I was in the Ladies room, I closed the bathroom door and heaved a sigh. My bladder was painfully full. Once I was done, I washed my hands and started at myself in the mirror. My face was clearly flushed, and my breast were swelling out the top of my dress. It must be the wine, with the help of Alexander, making me feel this way but I had to go back.

Forgetting for a minute where our booth was, I got lost as I tried to remember the direction in which I came. The loud music and rambunctious laughter drowned out my thoughts and I could hardly hear myself think.

“Get it together and try to remember where you’ve been,” I said quietly as I massaged my temples with my fingers, taking deep breaths while I did to disambiguate my scattered thoughts.

“Hey doll face are you lost?” A drunken male voice slurred my ear.

I whirled around and saw a man in his late thirties behind me, in his hand was a bottle of vodka. His eyes were hazy, his breath reeked of alcohol and his body of sweat and cologne.

“I’m fine thank you,” I said as I turned and started to walk away.

“Woah baby, don’t leave, we’re just getting acquainted,” he had a Russian accent and the alcohol’s effect intensified it, making it sound deeper and scarier.

“I said I’m fine, I have to leave,” I repeated. He laughed and grabbed my arm, pulling me against his chest. I struggled in his grasp but his iron grip only tightened.

“My fiancé is waiting for me, let me go!” I ordered.

“Oh fiance now?,”, He hissed out.

“Don’t forget to make him sign the contract”, As soon as I heard him say that, my body froze. He was among John’s men.

“Okay”, I spoke and he then left me.

As soon as he walked away, I took a deep breath before walking back into the living room. The men were still talking.

I faked a smile then sat in the chair next to Alexander. He didn’t say anything, he kept on talking but my fingers were trembling. I felt sick to my stomach as I listened to him.
