Chapter 73
I took a long deep breath from my sleep back to reality and my body seems to unnecessarily ache alittle from the long rest.
My eyes opened slowly to meet a masculine face structure with intense stare at me, it wasn't clear enough to me so I decided to pretend I was still sleeping.
The atmospheric condition of the room seem a bit too tense for me and the bed felt different too, I opened my eyes again without hesitation this time to meet straight gaze with Rex.
'Rex, how was rex able to get into my room in the first place?' I thought, looking from his innocent face to the nearby window.
"How long was I out Rex?" My slim throaty voice came out lower than I had expected it would.
His eyes were pleading in a way that seem unsaid and uncalled for to me at the moment, I looked around myself to find his hands were firmly encircled around me.
"You haven't been long gone, it was just for some few minutes and seconds too" was the instant reply I got from him as he searched my face with his eyes.
This was no way my room and it wasn't anywhere close to the chambers too, my heart sank down my stomach on remembering where I was.
I wanted to say more to him before my head automatically became filled with the vision I had and then it was down on me that Jane had done more than I had ever blame her for.
My heart raced more with two pumps per second, my head was spinning inside but my face and whole body remained calm.
Rex watched me closely like he was going to get every detail of my existence into his memory, there was a sudden movement that seem to get my attention immediately.
We both turned towards the direction in unism as Jane flashed my one of her most wicked smile, my eyes narrowed and I felt like a wounded lion again.
My hands unwrapped the entanglement between Rex and I, soon I was flying across the room in great furry also feeling agitation awakening in me.
Her eyebrows went up, her eyes widened at my reaction and her lips parted too, I could hear myself growling from the inside which for some reason wasn't audible to them both.
"You God forsaken bitch!" I fired at her being flared up already, sounding like mini thunder in a rainstorm.
My left hand went forward in a rush towards her direction and in no time she was lying on the floor in a haggard manner.
Her neck seem to be hurt and her hands were in a different state from normal, she struggled to get to her feet while Rex jerked out of bed.
I felt little tingling in my hands and strength seem to overshadow me from nowhere, I narrowed my gaze at her pathetic state and the urge to finish her up burnt in me.
My powers were fully back and now in a better form, it's more to be thankful since it came at the right moment I had felt like ripping things apart.
My back was making little popping sounds and my eyes seemed to be performing color game from the way she stared at me transfixed, I aimed towards her but was interrupted.
"Stop that Elena!" Rex yelled as he rushed to stand between both of us as we glared at each other, he must be hearing the clashing of swords we did with our eyes.
"What's happening here?" He asked in a calmer tone, ready to talk business and to settle the conflict that might take down his cottage in no time.
"I don't know... Elena what's happening, I guess it's the magic that had gone deep into her that she tossed me across the room!" She cried pretendtiously, hiding her face behind Rex.
"You sold me you liar from the pit of hell!" I barked at her even if Rex was the one I faced nd not her.
I could imagine her wicked smile behind his back and also feel her trembling like a dieing leaf in winter.
I suddenly laughed out loud in a graceful manner and then again with my mouth closed while my stare seems to have gone through Rex and is now on her forehead.
The silence in the room became too loud that we could hear each other's breath, and the manner which it went.
"Don't you know Jane was responsible for the report Derek had when I was trying to escape before?" My question seem to hit the four walls of the room and then on us again.
"It's funny how you tried to sell me and got sold too....you would learn soon enough" I said and walked out of the room without saying anything to Rex or turning around to see him.
I walked through the path leading to Derek's chamber in full rage, marching and smashing anything I saw on the way like it was a military march past.
The door slammed behind me as I rested my weight against it and began to rack my brain over Jane and Derek being in my life before this whole mess.
'How did Jane get to know Derek, Derek is a wolf....do human and wolf become frien-...ahhhh!" I half ran to my bed and sat on it gently like the presence of my bed drove the anger away.
"What's happening to me, Jane, Derek...my life, will I see home again?" My voice sounded like that of a five years old girl who was abandoned and tired of life already.
I could feel my body visibly shaking and my hands trembled more as I brought it up to my face level, tring to surpress the anger with deep and long breaths.
My door went wide opened and Derek walked in majestically, he had all black on him from his hair to his crocodile brand shoes.
It seems like he had just walked out of a vogue magazine cover, he professionally posed for few seconds at the door like he was going to one or more pictures for a new suit brand.
He took few steps and stopped to take off his darkshade glasses to probably see me clearly, he inserted both hands into his pockets and brought his chest out with his head held high.
"I can perceive his scent around you, Rex of course....you have no atom of shame left in you" he mentioned Coldly, his nose slightly wrinkled and his upper lip had gone upwards to.
My eyes didn't leave his side as I glared more intensively at him, he held his chest and bent alittle, choking and coughing with his hands covering his mouth.
He took few seconds in silence before raising his head to meet my gaze, his hands were stained with thick blood and there were shaking too.
"Why...what do you do?" He asked in a authoritative tone but refused to leave the spot where he stood.
"You're alone alive because i need for the people to still maintain their order" I announced gravely with my hands now crossed on my laps.
He turned around to leave immediately without making more attempt to know what my point was.
"Stood right there Derek!, you want to leave without facing it?....what did you do to me before I came here?" My voice rose and fell drastically that almost seemed like a whisper at my last few words.
"You're acting up!" he fired back in defense, his hands still shaking and the other one was placed by his chest to heal the pain inside.
His lips parted as he stared at me in silence, his breathe was shaky and the edge of his suit trembled.
"I saw Rowena and yourself in me..why did you do such a thing?" I asked calmly in a more conversational tone, trying not to be violent.
"I won't do such a thing" he blurted sharply.
"And besides Rowena was already inside of you when I met you" he scoffed, looking away from my to the open window like he was trying to hide his guilt in my room.
It was too obvious that Derek was good at lying as the good-for-nothing Jane who ended up in the same trap she had set for me alone.
'You lying sloth' I thought, tightening my lower lip and watched him suffer again.
I relieved him of the pain when he began to look pale, it was another chance for him to open up or maybe the last one, depending on his choice of words this time.
He exhaled audibly, coughing out more black and red blood, holding his chest and touching his neck too with his eyes wide open and his mouth slightly opened as well.
He coughed painfully and staggered backwards alittle and then collapsed on the open door before looking my way.
"I don't know, I don't know....I don't know how but Rowena was the one who thought you the spell....I don't know, I don't know" he explained, in his most possible innocent voice while he panicked in fear.
I looked away from him to the window, thinking of how to get Rowena soon.
