Chapter 16 CHAPTER 16

Chapter 16 CHAPTER 16
EMILIA

I stretched over the pillows to block my ears as the banging on the door got insistent. But it only got louder and unbearable.

Arghhhh, I screamed inwards as I struggled to turn on the lamplight. After the light settled in my room, I saw the clock. It was past midnight.

Who the fuck might that be?

Angrily, I climbed off the bed and headed towards the door, not expecting to see him. Andrea, at this time of the night, looking all wasted.

A sly smile settled on his face when I opened up, as he struggled to keep his balance. I scanned through the hall, and no one was with him.

"I... I don't think this is your room," I added, holding the side of my door with one hand and the door with another.

"You!" he pointed at me. "You caused this."

I noticed his bleeding nose right now, as blood trickled out of his left nostril.

"You are drunk," I said flatly. "And it's past midnight..."

He laughed hard and loud, interrupting my remaining words. "Are... you... trying to send me away?"

I didn't answer and just folded my arms.

"This is my house, and I can be anywhere in it, anytime."

"I will go get someone to help you out," I said, making to walk past him, but he yanked me back with such strength I didn't think he possessed in this state.

He pushed my door open, dragged me in with him, then locked it behind us.

My breathing was uneven now, as I became conscious of my body and the blue lacy nightgown I had on. It was purely transparent, and only my nipples and vagina area had a covering.

You can't blame me, though. I didn't know my sleep had been rudely interrupted at midnight by the man I was so trying not to bash his head against a wall.

Andrea's face twisted into an unreasonable expression now as he drew me closer, my breasts firm against his chest.

This was the first time I had shared such close proximity with a man. I don't think I had shaken hands with any man before, and now this.

I could feel my heart unstable in my chest as my body shook.

And right now, I felt his cock grow underneath. Men were sexual predators, but they became more uncontrollable when they were drunk. I remembered reading somewhere.

I tried to push him back, but he pulled me closer. And suddenly, I snapped, giving him a satisfactory slap he had long called for.

He smiled again, laughing dryly. "Isn't that what strippers do?" His tone and words didn't match his face.

It was as if he was mad for me. Ashamed on my behalf.

"Why didn't you choose a different profession, Emilia?" he asked, his voice lower now.

At this point, his breath reeked of alcohol, but I didn't move away.

How can I tell him that life didn't provide some of us with a lot of choices? How can I tell him that even while trying to get a decent job, they ask for requirements they know too well you don't possess? "What's that? We need a decade's working experience and mustn't be more than 25 years." That was impossible, and that was just how they wanted it, so they could leech on us women.

Asking for our bodies in return. So apparently, that's working two jobs. Serve in the office by day, then lay on your back at night for your boss to feast on...

But again, why does he care? Why should I answer him? He and his family had placed me in this mess in the first place.

"Because stripping had long been my desire..." I answered, watching his face twitch again. "I love the eyes of men on my body. I love how each wants me on their bed. I love how they give me money. I love how stable my life has been after taking such a job... The list could go on."

He fell to the floor now—a good thing his hand shielded his head.

Great. This was just the right place and time for him to collapse. I left him there and went to the bed, but I couldn't sleep.

It was cold already, and it wouldn't be nice if he slept on the floor. Don't get me wrong, I don't care if he freezes to death, but not in my room.

I had already pictured how everything would be. He dies, I get framed for the murder, and too bad there are a lot of reasons the court might find me guilty, and worse, it happened in my room. That's like kissing my freedom for life goodbye.

I contemplated going downstairs to call Mama Rosa, but the poor woman must be asleep from all the day's work, and I wasn't about to let this air-headed man disrupt her sleep.

I thought of Michelle and then sighed. I wasn't ready for another form of drama tonight.

Well, I was left with him now.

"Next time you pull this stunt, you will freeze to death, for real," I hissed, kicking him lightly to his side, but he didn't even budge. I felt like kicking him again—at least I would be getting my revenge slowly—but I decided against it.

There were better ways to get my revenge on him and his family than just a few kicks he wouldn't remember when morning came.

My arms became numb after dragging him halfway towards my bed. Gosh... he was heavy.

After a lot of panting and strategic thinking, I was able to get him onto the bed.

I pulled off his coat and shoes, leaving him with just a crisp white shirt that had a little blood stain on it and a black pant.

I sighed, running my hand through his soft sand-brown hair. He was beautiful, and with his eyes closed, his lashes became more prominent.

I took a wipe from the toilet, cleaning his nose, then replaced it with another, cleaning his face. Then I unbuttoned the buttons on his wrists, rolling his sleeves up. I sighted the tattoo on his arm again. It was so strangely familiar, but I can't recall where I had seen it from. I sighed, unbuttoning his first to third buttons, then admired the part of his chest that was exposed before placing the duvet over him.

I glanced at the clock when I was done, and it was past three.

The goal was to keep him alive till morning. After that, he might as well jump on a train track.

And as I laid my back facing his chest, he pulled me closer with one hand, my waist against his.

"You lied about what you said..." Andrea said plainly, his voice husky, his breath hot against my neck. "Your eyes tell a different story."

I tried to get his hands off me, but I couldn't.

"Could we stay like this for a while?" he hushed, tightening his arms around me. "Please..."
