-Caleb-
When Jocelyn said she loved me, it completely blew away her earlier worry about pregnancy. I wasn’t sure I was ready to be a dad, but I did know one thing for certain.
“I love you, too,” I said, tilting her lips up to mine for a kiss.
“Not stepbrother/stepsister love, either,” Jocelyn clarified, as though she needed to.
I chuckled and kissed her again. “Baby, I’m pretty sure if I felt THAT kind of love for you, we wouldn’t be having sex.”
“True.” Jocelyn licked her lips. I could feel the slightest flick of her tongue against my mouth. “And you don’t have to just say it. I don’t expect you to say it back just because we might die tomorrow.”
“That might have sped up the timeline a bit, but it doesn’t make it less true,” I said to her, stroking her hair.
“Really?” Jocelyn asked cautiously.
“Really.” I did love her. It wasn’t something I’d felt for most of the women I’d had. In fact, I was trying to think of anyone I’d have been so willing to die for, who made me so possessive.
Jocelyn was sexy, independent, courageous, and smart. The whole package. And I was a lucky, lucky bastard to have her at last.
Speaking of which...
I slowly slid our joined hands into my pants. “I want to be inside you again. Will you let me?” I taught her how to touch me to get me from my semi to completely erect.
Jocelyn rubbed her thumb over my tip. “I think that would be nice.”
I shivered and opened my pants in record time. She still stroked me while I pulled down her pants and panties.
“Show me where you want me, baby,” I breathed, nipping her earlobe as her knees spread open beneath me.
Jocelyn guided me right to her entrance. My cum and her juices made it easy to push inside this time, even though she was still deliciously tight.
“Mmm... baby.” I rubbed her clit with my thumb, easing in and out of her. My other hand pushed up under her shirt and bra to squeeze a perfect breast.
I was being faster, rougher this time, riding her harder than I had before. Need sang in my blood. She loved me. I loved her. She was mine. MINE.
“Oh GOD, Caleb!” Jocelyn gasped, hanging onto my shoulders for dear life as I lost myself to the passion of the moment.
I knew when she was going to come. I could feel it in the way her body trembled, hear it in the hitch in her breathing. I also knew when I came, I wasn’t going to pull out. I should—it was madness to keep risking pregnancy like this—but the possessive side of me that had taken over needed to fill her with my cum.
I quickly molded my mouth to hers when she cried out, shuddering with a powerful orgasm. I thrust three more times, then pushed deep, releasing my entire load into her.
“Caleb...” Jocelyn sighed, accepting my seed without protest.
I slowly nuzzled and sucked her nipples, pushing her bra and shirt out of my way, keeping my cock inside her. I wasn’t willing to let this be the end. I was greedy, greedy for her body and her beautiful spirit.
“You’re not pulling out,” Jocelyn panted after a while. She kept biting her lip to keep from making noise as I worshipped her breasts.
“Nope,” I agreed.
Jocelyn’s chest heaved, and she cradled my head to her breast. “We’re doing it again.”
“You bet your sweet ass we are,” I said.
I hardened again after a bit as she got hotter and wetter around me from the attention I was giving her breasts. I had to silence little mewls with my lips as I made slow love to her this time, taking her with aching tenderness.
I tasted her tears on my tongue and pulled my mouth from hers to kiss her tears away.
“It’s okay, baby,” I whispered. “I’ve got you. I’m here.”
Jocelyn wrapped her arms around me and buried her face in my neck, sobbing softly.
I stroked her hair. “Does it feel okay, baby?”
Jocelyn nodded against me.
“Good. It’s okay. I know you’re scared. I’m scared, too. But we’re here and we’re together now,” I said with a swallow.
Jocelyn’s lips brushed my neck, so sweetly I thought I might fucking cry myself.
Instead, I focused on her and her pleasure, listening to her breathing pick up when I thumbed her clit.
When Jocelyn came apart, she whimpered into my shoulder.
Her body squeezed around my cock, and I came with a groan, still buried deep inside her.
I pressed my forehead to hers as we both panted and came down. “Baby, I love you,” I whispered to her. “I love you, Jacey.”
“I love you, Caleb,” Jocelyn responded, making me warm to the center of my bones.
This time, I did pull out and get us back into our clothes, giving Jocelyn tender touches as I did so. Then I wrapped my arms around her and waited for the dawn.
I don’t think either of us slept a wink, watching the door, waiting for Fate to come knocking.
Sooner than either of us wanted, the chain jingled heavily, and the door opened. We sat up.
Girard stood in the doorway and leaned against the frame. “Christian did say he heard some interesting sounds last night,” he smirked. “You’ve been fucking your sister.”
Jocelyn paled. I looked down at the blanket and, sure enough, there was plenty of evidence of our activities.
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business,” I grunted.
“You kill people. You fuck your sister. You’re a sick, sick man,” Girard chuckled.
“Have you made a decision?” I asked, ignoring his needling.
Girard shrugged. “Guess you’ll have to find out.” He stepped out of the doorway, and the man I could only assume was Christian pointed a gun at us.
“Out,” Christian said.
I rose, then tugged Jocelyn up. The two of us put our flannel shirts back on, then walked out of the shed, Jocelyn’s hand in mine.
Just as we cleared the door, two men jumped up behind us, holding smelly cloths over our faces.
I struggled, losing my grip on Jocelyn.
“Breathe,” Girard ordered while Christian kept his gun trained on us.
Jocelyn coughed, gagged, then sagged in the arms of the man who held the cloth.
“Ngh!” I cried in muffled protest, trying to shake my attacker off me and go to her. But two other men came forward and gripped me by the arms.
Girard crossed his arms over his chest. “Breathe.”
Contrary to his orders, I held my breath as long as I could. I finally coughed and gasped, burning fumes entering my nose and mouth.
“Keep breathing, son,” Girard said.
My vision started to blacken from the outside in.
The last thing I remembered was Christian grinning at Girard. “Least it won’t be messy.”

I woke to the sound of lapping water. Peeling my eyes open, I saw sand, bits of wood, and broken glass. “Jacey?” I mumbled, looking around, trying to orient myself.
Then it all came crashing back, and I sat up straight. “Jacey?!”
Still in the too-big red flannel shirt, pants, and knee-high waders, Jocelyn was laying not five feet from me.
I struggled to my feet, still wearing the steel-toed boots and other clothing I’d “borrowed” from the lumberjacks. We were on a strip of beach, a sandbar, to be exact. There was water on both sides of us, stretching in either direction to swathes of deep forest.
Carefully picking my way around glass and broken boards with rusty nails sticking out, I made it to Jocelyn’s side. I shook her gently. “Jacey?”
Jocelyn groaned and was about to roll onto a particularly nasty-looking glass shard before I stopped her.
“There’s broken glass everywhere,” I explained with my hand firmly on her shoulder. “You need to be careful.”
“Broken glass?” Jocelyn echoed. She let me help her to her feet, then looked around.
When she sagged against me, I was sure we’d fallen into some bad trouble. But then she looked up at me with a smile and tears in her eyes. “Caleb, they dropped us at the old fly-in camp!”
“The old fly-in camp?” I said.
“Yes. It’s right by our camp. Almost straight across from it. We passed it when we left in the boat,” Jocelyn replied excitedly.
My knees turned to jelly, and I had to sit down. As I did so, my pocket crinkled.
I reached in and pulled out a piece of paper and a box of matches.
“What’s that?” Jocelyn asked, sitting down next to me. She plucked the paper from my unresisting hands. “‘We know what you did. Don’t rat us out, or there will be consequences. Burn this letter.’”
I sighed. “Sure, we can burn the letter, but what happens when I have to tell the authorities what happened to Bill? It’s not like the logging operation was far away.”
Jocelyn stared up at me for a long moment, then she took the matches, struck one on an old board, and set fire to the paper. “We’re not going to tell anyone about Bill.”
“What?” I said. “Jacey, I killed a man!”
“Nobody needs to know that. Nobody ever needs to know that. I’m sure Girard is taking care of it even as we speak,” Jocelyn decided. “He was a bad man. He was going to hurt me. There’s no reason you should get in trouble for what happened to him.”
“Jacey, I happened to him,” I reminded her.
Jocelyn shook her head. “No. We’re not going to tell anyone about it. It’ll be between you, me...”
“And about twenty-five illegal loggers,” I snorted.
Jocelyn took my face in her hands, forcing me to look at her. “We have to come up with some story. Something believable.”
“I find the truth is usually pretty believable,” I replied.
“Caleb, I forbid you to throw your future away because of that asshole,” Jocelyn snapped.
Her beautiful green eyes were shimmering with tears, pleading with me.
I wasn’t proof against that. “All right. What do you suggest?”
“We say we managed to walk to the North Lake, and some kind fishermen spotted us, gave us some clothes, and brought us to the fly-in camp. We knew we’d be found from there. That’s it. That’s all we have to say,” Jocelyn said.
“Okay,” I responded. “Okay, yeah, that’s simple and to the point.”
Jocelyn nodded. “Good.”
As soon as I’d agreed, I began to hear a buzzing in the background. We both turned to look.
There were two boats coming toward us. One had a man in forest green at the motor. The other, I could tell from his bright blue lifejacket, was being navigated by Hank.
Jocelyn and I both walked to the edge of the water and waved our arms over our heads.
I looked briefly behind us and saw that the note had smoldered completely to ash.
