Gabriel instinctively turned around, then looked back at Arabella, his handsome face puzzled,his handsome face puzzled. “Who’s here? Did Manuel come back?”
Arabella kept her eyes closed, too tired to wonder how he knew Manuel had brought her home. She replied flatly, “It should be the delivery driver… I ordered some medicine.”
Gabriel's expression improved slightly as he immediately got up to answer the door.
He returned shortly, carrying medicine and heating pads in his hands.
"What kind of medicine is this? Won't taking random pills be bad for your body? You're still breastfeeding..." Gabriel asked while opening the plastic bag, pulling out the medication to see it was pain relievers.
"Pain relievers?"
Arabella sat up and reached toward him, "Give them to me."
"The doctor will be here soon. You should wait and see what he says instead of taking random medication," Gabriel said, worried that pain relievers might mask her condition and delay proper treatment.
Arabella was already suffering from the pain, and seeing the medicine right in front of her but unable to take it made her furious, "Stop pretending to care! If it wasn't for you, would I be suffering like this! Give it to me!"
Her sharp rebuke, though delivered with a pale face and labored breathing, carried undiminished anger and authority, actually startling Gabriel.
"How is your discomfort my fault? How can you blame me for this too?" He was genuinely confused, feeling completely wronged.
Arabella couldn't be bothered arguing with him. She threw off the covers, got out of bed, and snatched the pain medication from him.
But there was no water by the bed, and she couldn't swallow the pills dry, so she prepared to go get some water.
Gabriel stopped her. "You go back and lie down. I'll get the water."
She really didn't want to walk—her legs felt extremely weak, and both her hip joints felt hollow. She reluctantly sat back on the edge of the bed.
Gabriel quickly brought in warm water. Arabella swallowed the pills and lay back down, saying coldly, "Thank you for your concern. You can leave now. I want to sleep."
Gabriel had no intention of listening, but seeing how weak she was, he genuinely felt sorry for her and didn't want to upset her further, so he turned and left the bedroom.
Not long after, Dr. Wood arrived.
"She took pain relievers and should be sleeping now," Gabriel said, leading Dr. Wood toward the bedroom while speaking in low tones. "Will taking those pills cause any problems for her body?"
Dr. Wood explained, "Pain relievers are the most effective treatment for menstrual cramps, but they only treat the symptoms, not the root cause. Let me examine her first, then I can prescribe some medication to help regulate her condition and prevent this from happening again."
"Mm..."
In the bedroom, Arabella was indeed asleep.

Arabella woke up, opening her eyes with slight confusion. Gabriel immediately explained, "Dr. Wood is here to examine you."
She wanted to say it wasn't necessary, that she was fine now, but faced with Dr. Wood's kind and gentle smile, she felt too embarrassed to refuse and could only sit up partially, leaning against the headboard.
Dr. Wood examined her while asking if she'd experienced this kind of situation before, and whether she'd been tired or under a lot of stress recently.
Arabella answered each question.

The menstrual cramps had been truly unbearable. Arabella couldn't be bothered with maintaining distance from Gabriel at the moment and nodded repeatedly in gratitude, "Yes, thank you so much, Dr. Wood."
Gabriel walked the doctor out while Arabella continued lying down.
With the heating pad on her abdomen and the pain medication taking effect, she felt much better now.
Only her legs still ached somewhat.
