Chapter 10

Silver sat in front his mirror after taking a shower late in the evening absentmindedly drying his hair.

As much as he tried paying attention, he couldn't get his head of Diamond threats. That wasn't Diamond's first threat, however, it felt strange this time how he felt really threatened.

Probably because Diamond couldn't stop talking about Rubby. In as much as he doesn't care for her, he knows deep down that he needs her.

Just as the moon goddess as warned, without Rubby, he will always be surrounded by Danger.

This is why he kept her close to him.

He can't allow anything to happen to her no matter what. He has to protect her at all cost

"Alpha?" David tapped him on his shoulder.

Turns out he has been in the room for a while and has been calling Silver but he was literally out of his mind and didn't realize even when David entered the room.

"What is the matter?" He sounded a little upset in his reply that David suddenly lost the interest in talking to him

"You look upset, I will come back later" David said, dispirited as he gently turned to leave when Silver stopped.

"You can just talk to me now. I am sorry I got worked up"

David turned back and took a good look at him to be sure if he was sincere with the last statement.

Noticing, it was true and indeed sincere, he moved closer and took a deep breath

"I was just going to ask you if everything is okay with you. I mean... You don't look really Okay ever since Diamond visited"

"You are right" Silver sighed "That jerk really has a way of getting on my nerves"

"Everything is going to be okay. You've always defeated him in every battle, that was why you were able to become the Alpha" David said in a reassuring tone.

Just like it always been doing, David's words once again comforted Silver.

If they weren't Alpha and Beta then they would have been best Friends.

"You can always speak comfortably with me whenever we are together. We are age mates after all" Silver brushed his ruffled hair out of his eyes and look at David, waiting for a response

"You know I can't do that. No matter the circumstances, I am just and I will always be a loyal beta to you. We don't have to be friends" David slightly bow his head before leaving the room.

Judging by his expression, Silver could tell he was hurt once again.

Staring into the mirror, he recalled how his journey with David started.

Years ago when they were still in high school, David was just an ordinary high school student who is also a nerd.

He was always bullied by Diamond and his partners in crime. He would run errands for them, do their assignment and sometimes even write their Exams and tests for them.

He would steal money from his parents just to buy things for Diamond

He began lagging behind in his academics and social life. His parents said a lot of harsh words and that made him lose hope.

As he was going to jump off the roof to commit suicide, Silver who was coincidentally at the rooftop tried to save him by grabbing his hand but when he noticed it was too late and couldn't hold on to his hand anymore.

He bit his hand, knowing fully well if he jumps down from the roof he would survive because he has been bitten by a werewolf and is now a werewolf too but a beta to Silver.

David felt grateful to silver, even though he wanted to commit suicide, he realized that there was more to life.

He made a pledge to become loyal to silver no matter what.

The knock on his door interrupted Silver's thought as he put on his pajamas before telling the person behind the door to come in.

The door opened and Fransisca entered with a tray of wine and glass cup.

"Here is your wine Alpha" she announced as she dropped the tray on the table "Is there anything else you need?"

"Why are you here? I thought Rubby is in charge of attending to me now?" Silver arched his brow, curious to know what is going on.

As the head of the maid, Fransisca and Silver had a meeting and they both agreed that Rubby will be in charge of anything related to him.

"My apologies Alpha, Rubby suddenly got adamant and refused to serve you tonight" Fransisca explained "I will make sure she serves you tomorrow morning"

"She refused to serve me?" Silver scoffed, annoyed "Does she think I am a joke? How dare she go against my order? Did you tell her the consequences"

"Yes Alpha, I told her several times that she will be punished but she remained strong headed I couldn't help but do it myself" Fransisca rolled her eyes but not in a way obvious enough for Silver to see.

"Okay, you are dismissed".

Rubby stretched her body after changing into her pajamas

She set her pillow and adjusted the bedsheet, about to lie down when Fransisca entered the room with a folded arms

"I told you Alpha would be mad at you, didn't I?" She frowned

"I am sorry, I was just too tired to attend to him" Rubby apologized even though one could sense she was not sincere with her apology.

Suddenly the door opened and Silver stormed in

"Leave us alone" he ordered Fransisca who left immediately.

He clenched his fist, trying to hold back his anger

"Why are you here?" Rubby darted her eyes to another direction "You look mad, I guess you have a lot of things to say to me"

Silver moved closer to her and grabbed her arms tightly. His claws came out and yet he refused to let her go.

"Let me go, please" She winced in pain as her wrist started to bleed.
