Chapter 25 Diana and the Alpha
TARA:
I couldn't take my eyes off them. Was it a good thing to kiss someone of the same gender? I quickly tore my gaze from them and entered the restaurant. I purchased a nice meal and a drink, and ate to my satisfaction before leaving.
I didn't see Rose and the mystery girl again.
My hunch had told me that Rose would be a wild person but not in this way. That was way across the boundary for me.
I got back to the Alpha's place tired and dizzy. But I couldn't go to my room just yet. I had things I wanted to discuss with him.
I climbed the staircase, one by one, counting my steps until I got to his door.
I knocked but no one responded. I decided to give it one more try. If he didn't respond, I'd go back to my room.
"Who is it?" It was a female voice I heard. My heart skipped multiple beats. Hope I wasn't interrupting something.
"Don't you have a mouth?"
I was about to reply when the door opened, revealing Diana's face.
"Good evening. Please, is the Alpha in? I want to return something." I gulped.
Her aura was intimidating, making me cower in fear. She rolled her eyes and created space for me to walk in. After she closed the door, she went toward the bed and laid on it.
The Alpha wasn't in his seat nor was he anywhere in the room. Where did he go? I wanted to ask Diana but she seemed too busy with her phone. And why the hell was she lying casually on the Alpha's bed? Wasn't she scared of how he would react if he saw her?
"Can whatever you want to give him wait till tomorrow or later in the evening? He's busy." Diana said, her eyes not lifting from her phone.
"Alright. I'll come back later when he's free." I was already turning on my heels when the door to the bathroom opened and the Alpha walked out. A towel hung loosely on his head as he typed away on his phone.
He was clad in grey sweatpants and a black T-shirt which his muscles threatened to rip apart.
"Good evening, Alpha." I greeted him.
"Hello, Tara." He lifted his eyes to look at me. But silly me, I was too focused on his hot body. They were about I go further down when I sucked in air and looked away.
"Are you just coming back? It's late." His eyes darted to the wall clock.
"Yes, I was asked to stay back for some extra lessons. I would be doing that for a few weeks." I explained.
"Oh." He tossed his phone in his pocket. Did he remember there was something on his head?
"How about Mason? Didn't he come in with you?"
"I haven't seen him since he dropped off this morning."
Alpha Lucian sighed and shook his head.
"He's probably fucking the brunette or the redhead," Diana said from behind me. Were they always so raw with intimate wordings?
I wanted to leave. I couldn't stand it in there with the two of them. Diana is on the bed, and Alpha Lucian is walking out of the bathroom. I didn't need a soothsayer to tell me what was going on.
"I came to return the remaining money you gave me today. I got a book, a pen, and food." I dropped the cash on the table, hoping he'd dismiss me immediately.
"Don't worry, keep it. You can use it for tomorrow too." He sat behind his desk. He looked toward Diana who looked back at him.
"What are you still doing here anyway? I thought you already left."
"Alpha..." She whined. "Are you chasing me?"
"It's late. And you know my rule about sleeping over."
She reluctantly stood up from the bed. "But you let her stay here. Why can't I stay?" She pouted?
"Her case is different."
"Good night, Alpha." Her voice was sweet whenever she spoke to him. With others, she was a beast. When I heard the door close, I finally breathed a bit.
"Now, back to you. How is the school? Is anyone giving you any headaches? Aside from your teachers, that is." He asked.
I couldn't tell him about Diana's sister.
I was trying to avoid as trouble as possible.
"It's all good, Alpha. I even made a friend." I replied happily. Apart from Ellie, I've never had any friends.
He nodded.
"Is there anything else?"
"Yes, Alpha. One more thing. My teacher said I should practice when I get home but I don't know how I'm going to do that." I laid my complaint. That was the only thing I wanted to discuss with him.
"Since your room has a kitchen, you can practice there. I'll give Mason some money and you both can go shopping for whatever you need."
"Alpha," I drew closer to the table. "Isn't there anything I can do for you so you can pay me instead?"
His eyes raked my body from my head to my open toes.
"What did I tell you about wearing clothes like this?" He hissed.
I also looked at myself. What was wrong with my clothes? And why was he deviating from the topic of payment?
"Alpha, I'm serious. I can't be using your money for free every time." I whined. Where was I getting the courage from?
I dropped my books on the table and went to kneel beside him. I could say he was surprised because he raised a brow.
"What do you think you're doing?"
"Alpha, employ me instead. I can do anything. Anything at all. Aside from cooking. I'm still learning."
"Anything?" A smirk grazed the side of his lips, his eyes glistening with mischief.
"Well, not exactly anything. I can't drive." I shrugged. I wanted to stand up but he caught my chin with his fingers.
"And I can't..."
He didn't allow finish talking before pressing my cheek with his other hand.
"Mind what you say to people. Not everyone is as lenient as me. Got it?"
I nodded.
"Good. Stand up," I arose to my feet. He stood too and carried my books. I tried to object but he shut me up, commanding me to follow him. I obeyed because it was an Alpha command. I couldn't free myself from the intensity of his words.
He led me to the kitchen, directing me to a nylon bag.
"Alpha, I already had something to eat on my way back."
With the way he looked at me, I didn't need anybody to tell me before I picked it up. We walked to my room in silence—Him at the front and me a few steps behind.
We got to my room and as supposed, the Alpha was supposed to go back but to my greatest shock, he stepped inside my room.
I dropped the food on my nightstand while he dropped the books on my bed. We were just inches apart.
My chest rose and fell, so hard that I couldn't control it.
"Calm down, I'm not gonna eat you."
I managed to moderate the beating of my chest.
"What do you think about Diana?"
Think about her as what? Your beta? Your girlfriend? Or your luna?
"Not my Luna. And yeah, she's my ex-girlfriend. We dated for a week."
"A week??!!"
