Viola's POV
I will not let that bitch take Noel from me again, either. Two men were already in love with her.
One... A lowly but powerful guard. The second, his master.
If Noel wanted to join those two I seriously wouldn't spare him.
Noel didn't answer... He kept quiet again.
From what I had realized from our conversation, I knew that anytime he kept quiet like that... He was about to reveal something shocking.
I swallowed, steadying my heart for another huge reveal.
"You know how much I hate Luca Morretti for everything he did to me and my family," Noel asked, his voice slow.
Why did he always start with a question?
I frowned, but still nodded. "Of course I do, I was with you through your grieving process! But how does that have to do with..."
"Aria was helping me with my revenge against your fiancé."
"What?"
Another fucking huge bam!
Aria was what?!
"I was secretly communicating with her after she got to this mansion. I blocked her from calling everyone else, and everyone she knew and loved from calling her. I was the only one she talked to." Noel continued, telling me everything.
She was talking to him while still in Luca's mansion? No... Not only talking to him, but she was also helping him take revenge on Luca?
How?
"W...what?" I shook my head, my heart pounding in my chest at the sudden reveal. I thought I had steadied myself, but this was just too fucking much. "I don't understand."
"Aria had one job. I needed anything to push that bastard fiancé of yours off his high throne. She was to bring me evidence to prove Luca to be weak..." Noel paused for a second. Then his next statement made me feel guilty. "Something I know you know already."
He wanted to push Luca from his throne.
He wanted Luca out.
Aria wanted Luca out.
She was fucking helping Noel destroy Luca!
This was gold!
Luca was there falling in love with a woman whose goal was to bring him down.
Once he found out about this... He was definitely not going to let Aria go.
One second ago, my heart was pounding because the news had shocked me. But after thinking about it, I realized... This was just beautiful!
"And we were close. She was freaking close... But then the information stopped. She found out something else." Noel continued and then stopped again.
What this?
"W...what thing?" The smile had grown. My face froze.
"Aria began to investigate Jared, Luca's brother's death."
What the bloody hell?
I almost coughed out blood as soon as those words flowed into my ears.
"What?!"
She wanted to do what?
How dare she?
That matter had been dead and buried. It's not been years since Jared died. Luca already blamed Aria's father for everything.
The truth was a secret I was ready to take to the grave.
What is Aria's fucking problem?!
"Did she find anything?" I asked, a bit terrified. My hands holding my phone trembled.
"No. But that was because I stopped her from snooping any further. But I doubt it worked. Because it seemed to me that stopping her was the reason she distanced herself from me."
"So... So what you're trying to say is that... Aria is only with Luca because she wants to investigate Jared's death?"
"Or maybe she likes him now."
Fuck.
That was it.
"Oh my goodness, I can't believe this." I shook my head. How did this news go from bad news, to good news, and now to worst news?
If I let Aria be, waiting for Luca to figure it out, it might just be too late.
And if I exposed the truth to Luca... that man probably wouldn't believe me. He was too in love with Aria.
This was bad.
Freaking bad!
The thoughts that came to my head only made the matter worse.
"What if... What if she actually finds something? What if that bitch stumbles on the fucking truth?"
My heart pounded hard in my chest, I stood up and began pacing around the room.
Aish! This fucking girl was becoming much more of a pest than I had thought. Not only was my dream of having Luca's heir at stake here, but my life was too.
If Aria found out the truth and told Luca... I would be done for.
"If she figures out the truth and tells Luca..."
"She won't." Came Noel's curt confident answer.
I stopped my pacing and turned around, sniffling before speaking into the phone. "What makes you so sure?"
"Because we won't let her."
We?
Wow.
Up until a few minutes ago, I didn't even know this sort of plan existed, and now there was a way to stop this?
I wanted to get mad, but I was too terrified of Aria finding out the truth too.
"I've cut ties with her already," Noel added, his tone confident. "She refuses to give me what I want; I can't allow her to drag me down."
Cutting ties with her doesn't stop that bitch from investigating. But it at least makes him open
My eyes widened in excitement. "So you're going to work with me?" I asked.
Since he had cut ties with her, it only meant that he could help me out now.
I had even more reasons to want her out of my life forever.
"I basically don't have a choice. I need your eyes and ears in the palace and..."
"Just say you miss working with me." I interrupted him, a smile on my lips. "It isn't that hard."
I was still so terrified. But the thought of having Noel by my side somehow eased my pain.
He was very good at his job.
Aria would be handled before she could cause any serious problem.
I had that conviction. It made me feel a lot better.
"But Noel... Aria? Did you actually say Aria is beautiful? That was what you were willing to forget me for?" I joked, my chest feeling lighter.
"Can you stop that? She's not ugly."
Pssssh!
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes.
I remember the way Aria and Luca left the mansion. He trusted her so much now.
We had to move fast. "What do you have in mind? How do you plan on stopping Aria?"
"We have to silence her... Forever."
"Duh..." I rolled my eyes again and then exhaled. "That part is certain. I mean how?"
Noel chuckled. This was the first time since the beginning of the conversation. "My plan is already in motion as we speak."
