Chapter 8

The girl quickly inspects the number, as she moves in towards me. Her hands move to my shoulder, as my muscles relax under her touch. She scoots further close to me, getting on her tiptoes, presses a soft kiss on my lips. Ah, just the thing I wanted.

I quickly shift my body closer to her, cupping her face as I deepen the kiss. Frankly, I just needed this after a shitty morning. Her fumbling inexperience is hot. She shoves her tongue clumsily around mine, as a moan escapes from her lips. I break the kiss, and she’s heavily panting my then.

“Uhmm.. my name is Ashley Wicker.” She speaks in a soft fluttered tone, with a strong tinge of suburban cockney.

“And, I am Levy Williams.” I reply, extending my hand as she shakes it but I don’t fail to notice the weak handshake she just offered me.

“I was aware of that. The football captain, after all. And one of the hottest guys in the school campus.” She scans me with her bright doe eyes.

“Good for you. You just lured the hot captain for a kiss after you spilled coffee on him.” I arch an eyebrow, gently teasing her.

“I’m really sorry about that coffee thing. It was just…I'm a mess, really. Just excuse my blabbering.” She shakes her head, clearly embarrassed by her own rambling.

“It’s fine, really. Call me when you want. And, bye for now. I have to head over to class.” I smile at her, as she nods her head and I scoot over to my class.

The class is boring, just the way I expected it to be. Can’t say that I'm surprised though. School doesn’t entice me at all. I just manage to keep up with the daily homework and assignments, which helps me to score good grades. I'm just here for the football. Being a jock is all fifty shades of cool. Or so I think it is.

Time quickly passes by, and soon it’s time for lunch. The corridor is now filled with hundreds of students heading over to the cafeteria. I lazily shove the books in my locker, when a familiar voice calls out to me.

“Lev!” Lucifer shrieks, as he offers me a bone crushing hug. Uh, I'm so incomplete without this guy and his suffocating hugs. I guess, that’s what best friends are, right?

“Luc!” I finally speak, breaking away from his rough embrace, and he affectionately pats my back.

“Let’s head over to the cafeteria. I have something to tell you.” He grimly states, his sweet behaviour now gone, and I wonder what’s wrong.

I take a grilled cheese sandwich, and Lucifer insists on eating a chicken sandwich. We walk over an empty table, as we make ourselves comfortable.

“I heard about Tracy.” He speaks, looking at me with his azure colored eyes. I sense worry in them.

“I know. It’s just, very shocking for me. I never thought that someone would want to kill her, and that brutally.” I proceed, letting out a deep breath.

“You didn’t love her, I was well aware. But then, it even shook me up, dude. I mean, the sudden murder. I can’t imagine what you are going through at the moment. This all seems so horrible.” He adds, his voice laced with sympathy and concern.

“I know, I know. Let’s not talk about it right now.” I flash him a faint smile and he gently shakes his head muttering a simple “fine”. I'd rather not talk to him about Reign at the moment. The mere thought if that is forming a bitter taste in my mouth. I don’t even know what has gotten into that kid. How can he even pursue his own brother!? And, how can I call him attractive? That’s beyond sick.

“Oh, Lev. I think that’s your brother Reign calling you.” He points at a figure standing near our table. Think of the devil. When have things being so awkward between us? I've to man the fuck up, and handle this myself.

“Hey Reign.” I gesture at the empty chair beside me, as he gleefully nods and sits down on the seat.
