Chapter 6

“Why wasn’t I informed?!” I chirp, as Matt crosses his arms across his chest
“Lev, he kept dropping you signs. Opened the door while he showered, ogled you when you worked out, showed great irritation when you brought girls and boys home. He never really came near you because he doubted his self control, behaved badly to cover up his feelings, somehow. He has liked you ever since puberty hit him hard, and he knew that you'd never accept. He has fucked people to distract himself, and he bottling up his emotions gets him aggressive towards everybody. Even towards you. ” He adds up, making me feel more sick.
“How was I even oblivious to all of this going on? They were quite the signs.” I huff, annoyed at myself for being stupid. “Now, Lev, listen. I know you can’t do this with him. But, if you do, just know that I'll still be your brother and I'll still love you.” He flashes me a smile, which immediately cheers my glum mood.
“I love you, Matt.” I whisper, as I hug him tight. This kid really is something.
“I love you too, Lev.” He replies, breaking away from my bone crushing hug. Oh, and I need to go to school.
“Remember one thing though, Lev. Reign is stubborn. He doesn’t give up until he gets what he wants. And you know, how far can he extend his actions for winning a prize.” He wearily says, as I nod my head. I know exactly what he means. I've seen that side of Reign. He opens the locked door, and walks down to hallway to tend Reign's wounds, while I head in for a shower. I take a towel and a supreme t-shirt and leather black pants as I deposit them on the shelf in the bathroom.
I close the door as I turn the shower on. The water is Luke warm, which has a great efficiency in cooling my nerves down. I need to get laid. Maybe I'll just pick up a random guy or girl from school. I scrub my hair with whatever shampoo I get near, as I rinse my whole self. Once I'm quite dry, I wrap a towel around my waist as I step out of the bathroom. I spot Reign, lazily slouching his body against the black couch as his attention snaps at me.
I hear him gasp. I better wear my t-shirt and pants before he dehydrates and starts with his shit all over again. I still have my supreme t-shirt and black pants hung around my arm. I hastily scoot over towards my room, as I slip on the t-shirt and pull over the pants. I apply a random perfume, as I run a hand through my wet hair. “I am ready!” I squeak, excitedly as I stuff some books in the bag with my black jersey which I'll need to change to, during football practice.
“You ready, Lev?” A deep husky voice speaks from behind the door. Reign. Uh. “Yeah. Take the Audi car key, and wait for me infront of the porch.” I reply, as I hear his footsteps fade way. Well, I've to go. I still can’t believe that Tracy is dead. That thing is too much to take in. How did this even happen? And why would someone even do something as grotesque as this? I shake my head in pure disgust, as I walk out of my room, locking the door from outside.
When I'm inside the living room, I watch Matt working on his computer. “You’re not going to school?” I ask him, raising an eyebrow. He mumbles a ‘no’. “I have a computer project to finish, Lev. Bye.” He replies, being his usual optimistic self as I kiss his forehead. I wave him goodbye as I walk out of the house and find Reign waiting infront of the porch. “Here you go!” He throws the keys as at me, which I catch very easily. I smile at him, as I drive the car out of the garage, and Reign opens the door and hops in.
I put on a melancholy song called “Remember” by Josh Grabon. It’s from the film ‘Troy’ and I find it really soothing. The music melts my ears, and makes my heart ache. It’s so sad, yet so beautiful, so mesmerizing. Keeping my eyes on the road, I keep driving as I take turns to head to school without any delay. “Penny for your thoughts?” Reign speaks, shaking me out of my pensive self. “They’d be worth millions.”
He flashes me a weak smile, as he keeps his hand on my thigh. Not a sexual touch, but an affectionate one. I have to keep my distance from him, because it’s the best for the both of us. I'll only make him worse.
