Chapter 5

I grabbed him by his collar, making him lose connection with my lips, and threw him across the room. I heard him crash into something and he let out a groan. The room was so big, where did he go? Shit, I shouldn’t have yanked him across the room like that. What kind of brother did that? “Reign?” I get up from the bed, only to find him curled up in a ball infront of my wooden closet.

“Uh.” He groaned, cupping his chin. Have I broken some bones? Is he okay? I don’t know. And probably, I needed to check if he was alright. “Reign, turn over to the side.” He did as I said, and his whole body came in my sight. His lip was bleeding and there was a bruise forming near his eyebrow, on the forehead.

My God, I'm such an excuse of a brother. Which kind of an elder sibling treats the smaller ones like that? Since when have I gotten that violent? “Reign…. I'm sorry….” I murmur an inapt apology, as the guilt gnaws at me. “No, it’s fine. Atleast I get your attention that way.” He flashed me a sinister smile. I ignored the comment. That guy was going crazy, but was and will still be my brother. “Come here.” I insisted, as he crawled towards me, as I got down on my knees and straddled him on my lap.

“Levy….” He cooed, and his hands crept to my bare shoulder and gripped them for support, as he laid his head on my lap. “Hmm?” I hummed, as those unnerving green eyes peered to look up at me. “Do you not love me?” He stared at me with dreamy eyes and I had to answer this. “I do. You’re my brother.” I replied, as I placed a kiss on the corner of his mouth, wiping the blood away. “Will I ever be more than that?” He asked, stroking my cheek. I let out a deep breath, “No.”

And I watched disappointment wash over that beautiful face of his. I'll never be fully prepared to handle the disdain on his face. I can’t do this. This is wrong. He is my own brother. I can’t do this to him. I just can’t. “It’s just a childhood crush. It'll go away.” I state, ruffling his hair gently. Or well, I hope so it does. Because, the I've fulfilled every desire of his ever since he was a child. But, not this one. “Childhood crush? Is that what you think it is?” He questions, forcing me to look into his eyes.

“Yeah. It’s a stupid little crush. It will go away.” I assure him, but I know that the look on those green eyes will haunt me for years to come. I don’t want to feel any such thing about him. He has this headstrong nature of taking what he wants. I'm just an infatuation. If I give in, he'll use me, then throw me away. It’s not that, I don’t feel attracted to him. I do, but I'm just too mature to act on it. “And, that kiss, Reign — never again, okay?” I finally break the awkward silence. “Never again.” I hear him mumble, as I shout, “Matt!”

Matt comes barging in after two calls, and his face goes pale after seeing the sight. “Oh my god…Reign.” He gasps, holding his hand on his mouth. “Matt, can you just bring the first aid box and bandage him?” I know that Matt is really good at first aid. Matt looks at me with uncertainty in his eyes, but quickly nods. “Can I have a talk with you, Lev?” He asks me, with a serene tone that makes me feel that he wants to share something. “Sure, bro.” I pat him on his back, and he takes me to his room and locks the door.

“Lev, listen to me. It’s about Reign.” Matt says, running a hand through his brown hair. What is it? Does he know? “What about him?” I look at him, but his eyes doesn’t quite reach mine.

“Lev, listen…I know about it, okay? He has this weird infatuation for you, and it won’t just go away. He has been in this phase for what? 3 years?” He gazes at me with pity in his eyes. Hear him! Three fucking years, is he crazy? Why hadn't I been informed?
