Chapter 97- Childhood Bedroom
Chapter 97- Childhood Bedroom
It was a week later, and Aria and Adrian had just arrived in North Carolina where they were going to stay for a night and then head back to New-York city.
They were going to leave Lyla with Aria’s parents for a few days, as the next few days were going to be very crucial for them both, and they wanted her to be as safe and protected as she possibly could.
The private jet landed at a small private airport and the family quickly disembarked the plane. Adrian held Lyla in his arms and gently held her against his chest, not wanting any of the paparazzi or photographers to take any pictures of her as he believed she was just too precious for the whole world to see.
Aria slipped on her dark shades and followed him down, as the warm evening breeze gently brushed against her face and reminded her that she was finally home, in the city where she had spent most of her life.
Jared followed them both quietly, along with a few of Adrian’s other bodyguards who had travelled with them on this short trip.
There was two sleek black cars waiting nearby and the drivers opened the doors to both, welcoming them all inside.
“I can’t wait to see everyone” Aria said to Adrian with a small smile, the moment they both climbed in and sat side by side next to each other, with their legs touching.
Adrian kissed Lyla on the top of her head softly and wrapped an arm around Aria,
“You sure you don’t want to stay on for a few more days?” he asked as it wasn’t often, she visited her family.
Aria leaned back against his arm and looked up at him,
“I’m very sure” she said with a small smile, thinking they had a lot that they needed to do, like take care of Hunter and make him pay for everything that he had done over the last two years.
The driver quickly loaded all their bags into the back before he drove out of the private airport terminal and towards Aria’s parents’ house which wasn’t too far.
Adrian kissed Aria on the top of her head softly and looked down at Lyla, thinking it was going to be their first time leaving her and he didn’t know if it was a good decision.
As much as he trusted Aria’s family, it was Hunter he was worried about as he wasn’t sure how much people he had on his side and for all he knew some of those could be living in North Carolina.
Aria rested her head on his shoulder and looked up at him, thinking it seemed like he was thinking about something important as his forehead was creasing ever so slightly.
“What’s on your mind handsome?” she asked him quietly, hoping everything was ok.
Adrian moved her even more closer next to him and looked down at her with a serious look on his face,
“I was just thinking about how much I’m going to miss this perfect little angel ours” he said quietly, not wanting to worry her in any way as he knew how hard it would be for her to, to leave Lyla behind.
Aria kissed him on the side of his neck softly and looked up at him,
“She’ll be in good hands and besides its only for a few days” she said with a small smile, although deep inside she also felt a little anxious.
An hour later and Adrian and Aria were both sitting at her parents house, with the rest of her family. They had just had dinner and were now taking over some hot drinks.
Lyla was now awake and fresh, happily enjoying all the attention she was getting from everyone. Raya and Nate had spoilt her with a plenty of new toys and clothes,
“I think I’m her favourite” Nate said with a grin as he made her walk and watched her take cute small grandma steps.
Adrian drank some of his strong coffee and looked at him,
“I’ll believe that the day I hear her say it” he said with a small smirk, thinking he enjoyed teasing him at every given chance.
Nate looked at him and smiled,
“I’ll make sure she does, don’t you worry” he said before he picked Lyla up from the floor and tickled her little belly.
Aria smiled and watched them both, thinking it was moments like this she wanted to see forever. Gabriella her mum drank some of her tea and looked at her and Adrian,
“How’s Cengiz? You should have bought him along to” she said with a smile, thinking it felt good to have both of them there.
Adrian leaned back against his seat and looked at her and Weston,
“Aria would know better than me as I haven’t seen him in a while” he said quietly, thinking after his mum had passed away, she had definitely tried her best to be there for everyone in any way she could, and her efforts didn’t go unnoticed.
Aria drank some of her hot chocolate and looked over at both of her parents,
“Uncle’s good, and we’ll definitely bring him with us the next time we come” she said with a small smile, before she relaxed back against Adrian’s arm, thinking he smelt amazing, even after a long day.
Weston her dad dipped some biscuits into his tea and looked at her and Adrian,
“I’m worried about you guys and the next few days” he said quietly, although he didn’t know the full details of what was yet to come.
Adrian played with a few strands of Aria’s naturally curly hair and looked at him with a serious look on his face,
“I don’t want you to worry about us, just take good care of Lyla, and we’ll return as soon as we can” he said before he drank some more of his coffee.
Gabriella smiled and looked at him and Aria,
“You’re leaving her in good hands son, don’t worry about her and just focus on what you need to do” she said softly, making Weston and Nate both snicker at her reply.
“Son? I’m sure he’s not that much younger than you honey” Weston said loudly, making everyone but Adrian and Gabriella laugh.
Nate kissed Lyla on the cheek and looked at Adrian,
“I can’t believe mom just called you son” he said with a smirk, thinking he enjoyed mocking him about his age, not like it bothered him in any way.
Adrian put his half empty mug of coffee down on the table and looked at Gabriella with a small smirk,
“I’m sorry but I have to agree with them on this one. I’m not that much younger than you, not like it matters as I would have found your daughter regardless” he said before he looked at Aria who was blushing.
Raya picked up some toys from the floor and looked at Adrian,
“You know if you have any single friends could you send them my way as I’ve heard older men are just better at everything” she said with a smile, earning herself a look from both of her parents.
Adrian kissed Aria on the side of her blushing face softly and looked at Raya,
“What do you mean by everything?” he asked with a hand on his chin, although he very well knew what she had meant.
Raya smiled and looked at him,
“I think Aria should answer that question, seeing as she’s the one who told me” she said, bringing everyone’s attention on her, especially Adrians.
Aria gave her a look with her pretty eyes before she looked up at Adrian,
“I don’t remember saying anything” she said although she had. Adrian moved closer to her and smirked,
“You don’t have to explain yourself beautiful, I’ll refresh your memory tonight” he said in her ear as quietly as he could, not wanting anyone else to hear.
Gabriella smiled and looked at them both, thinking she was glad to see them both happy and in love, despite everything they had been through.
They all talked for a good long while before Gabriella told Aria and Adrian to go to bed and not worry about Lyla, as she knew they had a long day and could do with some rest, not knowing they had other plans.
Aria kissed Lyla good night and left all of her stuff with her mum before she made her way upstairs, thinking she’ll have a quick shower and then get in bed.
Adrian told Aria he would join her soon before he stepped out of the house and told all of his bodyguards to call it a night and get some rest as they had another long day tomorrow and he wanted them to be as alert and fresh as they possibly could.
“I will rest tomorrow, don’t worry about me” Jared said, as he didn’t want to leave to his side, even though it was a quiet suburban area where Aria’s parents lived.
Adrian lit up his cigarette and looked at him,
“No rest now and go catch up with your wife” he said as only he knew how much time they spent apart because of his very demanding job.
Jared stood next to him and looked up at him,
“I’ve spoken to her a few times already don’t you worry” he said with a hand in his pocket, thinking who would have thought that Adrian of all people would be telling him to ring his wife.
In the end Adrian did convince him to go and rest at the nearby hotel that he had booked for him and the rest of his bodyguards.
“I guess I’ll see you in the morning, make sure you ring me if you need me and don’t enjoy yourself too much in your girls old bedroom” Jared said to Adrian before he walked off smirking.
