Chapter 94- Victoria
Chapter 94- Victoria
A few days had passed, and Victoria had asked Aria if she could meet her for lunch. Aria was a bit hesitant at first but agreed in the end, as she didn’t want to cut her out completely.
She quickly got dressed and looked at herself in the mirror once before she quickly made her way downstairs and almost bumped into Adrian who was carrying Lyla in his arms and showering her with cute little kisses.
“Careful beautiful” he said quietly as he wrapped an arm around her and steadied her effortlessly, thinking she looked stunning.
Aria was wearing a nice white crisp collared shirt dress which she wore with a pair of flats and had left all of her long hair opened.
“I’m running a little late as you can tell” she said with a small smile before she reached up and kissed Lyla on the cheek softly.
Adrian kissed her on the top of her head softly and looked down at her with a serious look on his face,
“I’ll drop you off wherever you need to go” he said before he slipped a few strands of her hair out of her face and kissed her on the cheek softly.
Ever since she had told him what about Hunter had done, he had come even more protective of her and didn’t like her going anywhere alone.
“That’s fine, I’m ready whenever you are” Aria said before she took Lyla from his arms and gave her a tight cuddle, thinking once Hunter was dealt with, she couldn’t wait to spend some more time with her and travel the world.
It was almost half an hour later when Adrian dropped her off at the restaurant where she was meeting up with Victoria for lunch.
“I’ll wait here until Jared comes” he said before he leaned down and kissed her on the lips softly.
Aria closed her eyes and kissed him back before she stepped out of his car and walked up to the restaurant, thinking after what Hunter had done, she couldn’t even complain about him being overprotective, as she rather be safe then sorry.
She spotted Victoria sitting near the window and quickly made her way over to her,
“Hey how are you?” Victoria asked her before she got up from her seat and met her with a quick hug.
Aria hugged her back before she sat down and pulled in her chair,
“I’m good and you?” she asked before she crossed one of her legs over the other and leaned back against her seat.
Victoria smiled and looked at her,
“I’m ok, how’s Lyla?” she asked just as a young waiter walked over to their table and left them with some iced drinks.
Aria opened her menu and looked at her with a small smile on her face,
“She’s also good, what did you want to talk about?” she asked quickly, not wasting any time.
Victoria told her to choose what she wanted to eat before she called over the same waiter as before and placed their order.
“First of all, I would like to apologise for what you saw that night at the party, I wish I was never there” she said quietly, thinking no matter how much she wanted to forget about it, she couldn’t as it was all over the news and everywhere.
Aria took a small sip of her drink and looked at her,
“I want to know exactly what happened, could you run me through everything” she asked as she had a feeling Adrian hadn’t told her the full truth.
Victoria gave her a small nod before she told her everything, leaving no loose ends.
“When you rang Adrian and told him you couldn’t make it, he was really disappointed, I could see it on his face, it wasn’t long after that when he started drinking more and more” she explained.
Aria listened quietly,
“When he kissed you, did you kiss him back?” she asked, even though a part of her didn’t want to know.
Victoria slipped a few strands of her hair behind her ear and looked at her,
“No, I didn’t, I quickly moved my face away before he could” she said truthfully, hoping she believed her.
She looked away for a moment before she looked at her directly,
“I’ve known him for a very long time Aria, and he’s never made a move on me before, we don’t have any feelings for each other, and I see him just as a friend, nothing more. I hope you can forgive us both” she said before she reached for her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Aria listened to her quietly, thinking it made her feel a little better knowing that there were no feelings involved, but she still didn’t understand why Adrian would do such a thing, unless his drink was spiked.
“I forgive you” she said just as a waiter walked over to the table and left them with some clean dishes and more drinks.
Victoria opened her menu and smiled,
“Thank you for being so understanding” she said before she reached over the table and gave her a nice friendly hug.
Aria hugged her back and smiled,
“You don’t have to thank me, how’s your family?” she asked before she took another small sip of her drink.
Victoria leaned back against her seat and looked at her,
“Mum and dad are fine, how are your parents?” she asked just as the waiter bought over their food.
Aria looked back at her,
“They are all ok, how’s work?” she asked with a small smile, thinking there was still so many things she needed to tell Adrian about Hunter, before they could both expose him and confront him about everything.
Victoria took a small bite of her cheeseburger and looked at her,
“Work is stressful, but I’m taking each day as it comes, which reminds me congratulations on getting your degree. Have you applied for any law firms?” she asked with a smile.
Aria slipped a few strands of her hair behind her ear and looked at her,
“Not yet, as I want to spend as much time as I can with Lyla before she starts school” she said before she forked some of her pasta and ate it, thinking it tasted amazing.
Both girls talked for another half an hour before they headed their own ways. Aria thanked Victoria for the food before she walked out of the restaurant and over to Jared who was waiting for her outside with both of his arms folded.
“I hope I didn’t make you wait too long” she said before she passed him a small bag of food that she had got packed for him from inside.
Jared looked at her and then at the bag,
“You didn’t need to get me anything but thanks anyways” he said before he took it from her hand and opened the car door for her and stepped aside.
Aria smiled and looked up at him,
“It’s not much don’t worry” she said before she climbed into his car and took her phone out of her bag, thinking she’ll ring Lyla’s nanny and ask her how she’s doing before she continued with her day.
Jared drove her to Cengiz’s house and looked at her from the rear mirror,
“How’s Adrian been these days?” he asked as he still didn’t know if she had forgiven him for what he had done.
Aria leaned back against her seat and looked at him,
“He’s been ok, listen you were with him that day at the hospital, did the doctors say anything about his bloods as they took a sample of him when he was first admitted?” she asked with a serious look on her face, thinking if Adrian’s drink had been spiked at the party, the doctors would have definitely known from the blood test results.
Jared looked at her slightly confused, thinking it seemed like Adrian still hadn’t told her everything.
“Yes, he was drugged, did he not tell you?” he asked with one of his eyebrows raised slightly, thinking Adrian was definitely not as smart as he thought he was, if he was still hiding stuff from his woman.
Aria couldn’t believe what she was hearing, although she had a feeling that might have been the case, especially when Victoria herself told her that they had no feelings for each other. She wondered why Adrian didn’t tell her himself,
“No, he didn’t” she said quietly before she looked away, thinking was it possible that it was Hunter who had got someone to supply him with unlimited amount of drinks that night at the party.
Jared shook his head and looked at Aria,
“Adrian is an idiot at times, but I hope you can forgive him for everything that happened, because you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him and he loves you more than you’ll ever know” he said with a serious look on his face.
Aria listened to him quietly,
“Did he tell you to say this?” she asked with a small smile, although she knew he most definitely didn’t as it wasn’t something he would do.
Jared smirked and looked at her from the rear mirror,
“No, he’s not that smart” he said before he parked his car outside the Delgado mansion and told her he’ll wait outside.
Aria told him she won’t be long before she quickly stepped out of his car and made her way inside. She greeted the butler at the door before she made her way to the main sitting room where she could hear Cengiz and Lucia talking.
“I think we should all go on a nice family holiday what do you think?” she heard Lucia asked Cengiz who seemed to be playing with Aidan.
Cengiz made Aiden sit on his lap and looked at Lucia, thinking she had far too much time on her hands.
“I hope I’m not interrupting anything” Aria said with a small smile, before she walked into the room and met everyone, thinking she hadn’t checked up on Cengiz in a while.
Lucia met her with a nice quick hug before he picked up the few toys that Aidan had thrown on the floor.
“No, you came at a good time, we were just talking about going on a nice family holiday, wouldn’t it be great if we all went together for a few days” she said with a smile.
Aria sat down next to her on the sofa and looked over at Cengiz,
“I think it would be lovely, but I’m not sure if I’ll be able to convince Adrian to go, as he is your son after all” she said with a small smile, thinking he seemed more relaxed than normal and that was a good thing.
Cengiz gave Aidan a tight playful squeeze and looked at both Aria and Lucia,
“Yeah, I don’t see him agreeing” he said before he told Lucia to leave the room as he wanted to talk to Aria alone.
Lucia didn’t argue and quickly walked out of the room,
“How’s Adrian been treating you?” Cengiz asked Aria the moment Lucia left and closed the door after herself.
Aria crossed her legs and looked back at him,
“He’s been treating me well, I heard you also had a word with him about everything that happened” she said with a small smile, thinking she could only imagine how that conversation must have gone between both father and son.
Cengiz drank some of his water and looked at Aria,
“I did, he’s an idiot for going to that party in the first place without you” he said bluntly.
Aria listened to him quietly,
“I wouldn’t say it was completely his fault uncle, he did ask me to come with him and I didn’t listen. I also found out that his drink was spiked, which kind of explains why he did what he did” she said.
Cengiz listened with a serious look on his face,
“I still don’t think that’s good enough of a reason to did what he did, but if you have forgiven him then so will I” he said.
It was then Aidan walked over to Aria and sat down next to her,
“Auntie me three now” he said, although he was going to turn two soon. Aria smiled and ruffled his soft blond hair,
“Are you really?” she said before she read him a book, thinking he looked adorable.
Cengiz watched them both quietly,
“Any news on Rosalina? Her son is also very worried about her” he said with a hand on his chin. Aria looked up at him,
“No, the detectives that Adrian hired to find her are working as hard as they can, but at the moment they have found nothing about her whereabouts” she said.
It was then she remembered the last time she had spoken to her, and she had told her that she was staying with family.
“Uncle did she have any other family members here apart from her son?” she asked as she was pretty sure Rosalina had told her once that she had no one else.
Cengiz rested his glass of water on his knee and looked over at Aria,
“No, she didn’t why?” he asked curiously. Aria told him everything how she had spoken to Rosalina a few weeks ago and she had told her that she was staying with her sister, when the truth was, she had no other family in the whole of America.
