It was the following day and Aria woke up to a pair of strong arms wrap around her from behind, and Adrian’s sexy tempting scent fill her nose.
She had fallen asleep in one of the guest bedrooms and wasn’t expecting Adrian to find her so early in the morning.
“I know your awake beautiful” Adrian said in her ear quietly, thinking he had given her enough space yesterday but today he needed to talk to her and tell her everything.
Aria stiffened in his arms and didn’t open her eyes, although she was awake.
“Leave me alone” she said with her soft voice sounding more broken than anything else.
Adrian didn’t let go of her and instead pulled her even more closer to her, thinking even though no words would ever be enough to tell her sorry he was, he was going to try his best.
“I know what I did was beyond forgivable but please give me a chance to explain myself” he said as he wrapped both of his arms around her tightly.
Aria turned around in his arms and looked up at him,
“I don’t want to hear it, I am sick and tired of everything” she said quietly, with her voice holding more emotions than her words.
She felt safe and protected in his arms, but even that wasn’t enough to make her reconsider her decision of ending their relationship.
“These past few months have been very challenging for both of us, but I think the time has come to go our separate ways, because after what happened yesterday, I’ve realised that I will never be enough for you Adrian” she said softly.
Adrian watched her pretty eyes well up with tears, thinking she was more than enough, she was his everything and he couldn’t lose her no matter what happened.
She was the best thing that had ever happened to him, someone who had always been there for him, through his every downfall, yet he had still hurt her in the worst way possible.
“You are more than enough beautiful, and I can’t imagine my life without you, you’re all I have and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do to win your trust back, just give me a chance please” Adrian begged, something he had never done before.
He wanted to tell her that his drink had been spiked but believed it wasn’t a good enough of a reason to do what he did.
“Yesterday was nothing but a stupid mistake, one I wish I didn’t come close to doing. I love you with all my heart and would never hurt you beautiful. I don’t know what overcame me, but you have to believe me when I say you’re the one I wanted there at the party, not Victoria or any other woman there” Adrian said as he looked down into her eyes deeply.
Aria listened to him quietly, thinking he had always good with words but was it possible he was telling the truth. She had heard one of the doctors mention to another that he could have been drugged but didn’t think too much of it at the time.
“I also need to tell you something” she said quietly as she couldn’t carry the guilt of what happened between her and Hunter on her shoulders for any longer than she had already.
Adrian kissed her on the forehead softly and looked down at her pretty face,
“I’m listening” he said and that was all she had to say before Aria told him everything. She told him how she had woke up and found the buttons or her top undone and had dried semen splattered all over her lower stomach.
Adrian listened to her quietly and felt the anger built up inside him, thinking there was no fucking way someone touched something that was his and got away with it.
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” he asked thinking he hated someone even looking at her never mind undressing her.
Aria looked away for a moment and then at him,
“I was scared to tell you because I didn’t know how you would react but that’s the reason I went to the hotel the other day, because I needed to see who it was that walked into our room” she said softly.
Adrian tightened the grip he hand on her waist and listened to her quietly as she explained everything.
“Hunter was the one who broke into our room, I have the video to prove it” she said before she unlocked her phone and showed it to him, thinking he needed to know that Hunter was not who he seemed, he was an utterly horrible person.
Aria noticed Adrian’s forehead crease slightly, and knew he was angry beyond words.
“How dare he fucking lay his hands on you” he said as he felt the anger built up inside him, thinking he could somewhat understand how Aria would have felt when she saw him with Victoria, even though what Hunter did to her was worst.
He sat up slightly and looked down at Aria as she rested her face against his chest,
“I don’t remember anything from that night apart from the moment I fell asleep” she said quietly, thinking Hunter was a disgusting man and she couldn’t wait for Adrian to get rid of him as she knew he would do a very good job of it.
Adrian kissed her on the top of her head and listened to her quietly,
“I don’t know what the fuck he wants from us, but I will make sure he suffers” he said as he imagined someone else undressing her and touching her in places only, he was allowed to touch, no one else.
It was then a thought came to him, and he looked down at Aria,
“Before I left the hotel and when to check up on Jared, I activated the cameras again” he said as he remembered nice and clearly.
Aria picked up her head from his chest and looked up at him,
“Are you sure? Because when I asked the hotel staff, they said they didn’t have any footage from the inside of the suite” she said as she slipped a few strands of her hair behind her ear.
Adrian looked down at her,
“Hunter must have bribed them with money, but don’t worry I will get to the bottom of everything” he said before he gave her a gentle comforting squeeze, thinking he couldn’t even imagine how she must have felt when she first found out that Hunter had taken advantage of her against her will.
He didn’t let on to her how angry he was, even though he was ready to go find Hunter and kill him right there and then.
“Hunter thinks he’s a step ahead from us, but what he doesn’t know is that he’s messed with the wrong person” he said before he kissed Aria on the cheek softly, thinking he will do everything in his power to give him a slow painful death.
Aria told Adrian that they will work together and find any other evidence they could on him before they confronted him and took their revenge.
“I just don’t understand what he has against us” she said quietly about Hunter before she wrapped both of her arms around Adrian and hugged him tightly, taking him by surprise.
Adrian hugged her back and held her in his arms for as long as she wanted to be held,
“I love you beautiful and once again I’m very sorry” he said in her ear quietly as he rested his chin on the top of her head.
It took everything in his willpower to stop him himself from finding Hunter and killing him on the spot. It was in that very moment he decided that he would never let him come close to Aria or any of their loved ones ever again as he had done enough damage already.
It was much later on in the evening and Adrian had just arrived at Victoria’s apartment. He knocked on the door and waited for her to open it, with one hand in his pocket, thinking he owed her an apology.
Victoria wrapped her nightgown all around herself and tied it up before she opened the door, not expecting to see him there.
“What are you doing here?” she said quickly, thinking he had chose the worst time to come, especially after all the rumours that were going around about both of them and that unfortunate kiss at the party.
Adrian walked passed her and straight towards the main sitting room,
“I didn’t come here to entertain you don’t worry” he said quietly with a serious look on his face, thinking if it wasn’t for Aria, he may have never been able to face her again, after what he had done.
Victoria took a deep breath and followed him quietly,
“I hope you’ve told Aria everything” she said before he even sat down.
Adrian leaned back against his seat and looked up at her,
“I came here to apologise for what I did, it was way out of line and should have never happened” he said with a hand on his chin, thinking she looked like she hadn’t slept for days.
Victoria sat down on the sofa opposite of him and listened quietly,
“I will only forgive you once I know you’ve told Aria everything” she said before she lowered the volume of the tv.
Adrian rubbed his chin slightly and looked at her with a serious look on his face,
“What do you mean by everything?” he asked as he looked at her directly, wondering what she meant.
Victoria played with her hands nervously and looked up at him,
“That I didn’t kiss you back, and how this was all your fault” she said with a small frown, thinking men were so dumb at times and Adrian was a good example of that.
Adrian listened to her quietly,
“I told her what she needed to know, if you think it wasn’t enough, you can tell her yourself” he said before he took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up quickly.
Victoria looked at him and frowned,
“You’re unbelievable and here I thought you told her everything” she said before she looked away, thinking she couldn’t even imagine how Aria must have felt when she saw her with Adrian.
Adrian took a long puff of his cigarette before he got up from the sofa and looked down at her,
“I want to make one thing clear before I leave, I don’t have any feelings for you, you’re just a friend to me, nothing less and nothing more” he said as he stood up tall.
Victoria listened to him quietly and felt her heart break to a million pieces,
“I’m glad you don’t have any feelings for me” she said with a small smile before she walked him out. She closed the door after him and leaned back against it, thinking unlike him, she saw him more than just a friend.
