Chapter 92- A Little Too Late
Chapter 92- A Little Too Late
Victoria looked at Adrian and then at Aria who looked like she had been crying.
“I’m sorry” she said quietly although it wasn’t even her fault. Aria looked at her with a serious look on her face,
“I don’t want your apology, I just need to talk to Adrian alone” she said and that was all she had to say before Victoria walked away feeling ashamed and awfully guilty.
Adrian looked down at Aria, thinking she looked broken.
“What are you doing here?” he asked her quietly as he lead her away to a quieter part of the room, hoping she gave him a chance to explain himself, although he had a feeling she wouldn’t.
Aria pulled away from him and looked up into his eyes deeply,
“I saw everything” she said with tears in her eyes, thinking she couldn’t believe what he had done.
Adrian looked down at her,
“It’s not what it seems beautiful” he said quietly, as he felt his vision blur slightly.
He leaned back against the closest wall he found and looked down at her,
“I don’t want an explanation, I just want you to know that we are done, I can’t do this anymore” Aria said with tears rolling down her face, thinking she it was clear she wasn’t enough for him and never will be.
Adrian took hold of the top part of her arm and looked down at her, her every word piercing through his heart.
“I don’t feel too good Aria, please give me a moment to explain myself” he said quietly, hoping she listened as he tried his utmost best to stand up straight, although it was unbelievably hard.
Aria shook her head lightly,
“It’s a little too late for that Adrian, you did the worst thing you could ever do to me and for that I will never forgive you” she said as she wiped away her tears.
Adrian watched her as she wiped the corner of her pretty eyes, thinking she had every right to be angry. He was about to reply when he felt his vision blur once again and before he knew it, he lost his balance and fell unconscious.
Aria quickly reached forward and tried her best to hold him up against the wall, although it wasn’t easy. She shook him by his shoulders and watch his eyes close, feeling helpless and even more broken.
She quickly called out for help and Hunter was the first one to walk over and help her steady Adrian. Aria touched Adrian’s face with both of her hands tenderly and shook him again,
“Wake up Adrian please” she begged quietly, thinking this couldn’t be happening.
Hunter quickly called for an ambulance and splashed some water on his face, although he was the one who had someone to spike his drink earlier.
“Relax he’ll be fine” he said to Aria, thinking no matter how upset she was it was clear she loved Adrian a lot as he watched her cradle his head in her lap.
Aria gently stroked Adrian’s face and looked down at him as he lay there with his eyes closed, thinking was it possible someone had put something into his drink.
She rested her face against his and listened to his shallow heartbeat, hoping the paramedics arrived soon because it was utterly painful for her to see him lying there unconscious.
The next few hours passed in a blur and Aria didn’t leave Adrian’s side at the hospital. The doctors had hooked him up on some fluids and took some blood samples from him, before they left both of them alone.
Adrian waited for all of them to leave before he turned and looked at Aria,
“You should go home” he said quietly, thinking she looked tired and broken.
Aria heard what he said but didn’t reply. She still couldn’t believe that he had kissed Victoria and just wished it was all a bad dream, because she wasn’t ready to face her doomed reality just yet.
Adrian took hold of her hand and kissed it softly, but she was too distracted with her own thoughts to realise.
“No words will ever be enough to explain how remorseful I feel right now but believe me when I say I am very sorry beautiful” he said quietly, quickly getting all of her attention.
Aria pulled her hand away from him and looked down at him,
“Your right, your words mean nothing to me anymore” she said before she looked away, thinking she had given her all to him, yet it still wasn’t enough.
Adrian listened to her quietly, thinking he was about to lose the most precious person of his life, and there was no one to blame but himself.
“You have every reason to be angry beautiful, but please forgive me” he said as he sat up a little and looked at her properly.
He wanted to pull her into his arms and hug her tightly but couldn’t as he was hooked up on all the drips which restricted his movements.
Instead, he reached for her face and stroked one of her cheeks softly, hoping she didn’t push him away.
Aria felt her heart ache with pain as she turned her face away and took a step back from him, thinking she didn’t want to leave him alone at the hospital but at the same time didn’t want to be close to him either.
“Don’t touch me” she said quietly, as everything that happened earlier all came back to her and she couldn’t help but feel annoyed.
She walked to the other side of the room and looked out of the hospital window as she didn’t want him to see her crying.
“The one time I said no to sex you decided to go elsewhere, did I not mean anything to you?” she thought to herself, as she remembered all the intimate moments they had shared together since they had first started dating.
Adrian watched her quietly as she stared out of the window, wondering what was going through her mind. He wanted to go over to her and hug her tightly from behind when he heard a gentle knock on the on the door and in walked Jared.
Aria quickly got herself together and wiped the corner of her eyes,
“I came as quick as I could, what happened?” Jared asked Adrian the moment he closed the door after himself and rushed over to him, not expecting him to be hooked up on so many different wires.
Adrian looked up at him with a serious look on his face,
“There was no need for you to come, I’m fine” he said quickly, not wanting any sympathy. Jared looked down at him with a small smirk on his face,
“I heard you couldn’t handle a few drinks old man” he said mockingly, not knowing what had actually happened.
Aria walked over to where he was and looked at him, thinking she was glad he had come, as the silence between her and Adrian was getting pretty suffocating.
“Who told you?” she asked quietly, making no eye contact with Adrian.
Jared passed her the small bag of snacks he had bought for them both and looked at her with a small smile on his face,
“It’s all over the news, why don’t you go home and rest, I’ll stay with him until you return” he said, thinking she looked like she could do with some rest.
Adrian watched Aria quietly, thinking it was pretty clear she was avoiding him deliberately.
“He’s right” he said with a serious look on his face, hoping she listened.
Aria looked at Jared,
“I won’t be returning, you can bring him home whenever he’s discharged” she said before she quickly put on her jacket and walked out of the room, leaving both men surprised.
Jared waited for the door to close after herself before he looked at Adrian with a serious look on his face,
“What the fuck were you thinking?” he said the moment she left as he had seen the pictures of him kissing Victoria.
Adrian leaned back against his firm pillow and looked up at him,
“The only one I need to explain myself to is Aria” he said before he looked away, feeling destroyed from inside.
She was the best thing that had ever happened to him, and he had ruined everything.
“The pictures are everywhere, how do you think that will make her feel when she finds out” Jared said to Adrian, thinking he was an idiot for hanging out with anyone but his woman if he couldn’t control himself.
Adrian listened to him quietly but didn’t say anything.
“She already knows, she was there when it happened” he said. Jared shook his head and looked down at him,
“Your unbelievable, you had such a good thing going with Aria and you ruined it for what, a few minutes of pleasure?” he asked before he touched the back of his neck nervously, thinking there was no way she would ever trust him again.
Back with Aria, she had just arrived home when she saw Cengiz sitting in the living room playing with Lyla.
“Where is that fool?” he asked about Adrian, thinking he couldn’t believe what he had done and had come over as soon as he had heard.
Aria met him with a nice quick hug before she picked Lyla up from the floor and hugged her tightly,
“He’s at the hospital” she said quietly before she kissed Lyla on the cheek softly, thinking no matter how hard she tried to forget Adrian, she couldn’t because every time she looked at their little princess, it reminded her of him and all the good moments they had shared together.
Cengiz could tell she had been crying from her puffy eyes,
“He’s not worth crying over, I will sort him out once I see him” he said before he walked over to her and pulled her into his arms, thinking since Angela passed away, she was the only ray of hope left for their family and he will do everything in his power to make sure that Adrian never loses her.
Lyla touched Aria’s face lovingly and gave her a nice wet sloppy kiss,
“Mama no cry” she said in her sweet baby voice. Cengiz kissed Aria on the top of her head softly and looked at her,
“You heard the girl” he said with a small smile, thinking Adrian was the last person he would have expected to do such a thing.
He had always thought he saw Victoria as a younger sister, but then again maybe he didn’t know him as well as he thought he did.
