Chapter 91- Her Worst Fear

Chapter 91- Her Worst Fear
Aria rang Jenna and asked her if they could reschedule their outing together as she wanted to surprise Adrian at the party.
“Yes, that’s absolutely fine, you go and have a good time” Jenna said as she rested her hand on her baby bump and massaged it gently.
Aria thanked her, before she quickly ended the call and started getting ready, thinking she had a perfect little plan up her sleeve and couldn’t wait to see Adrian’s reaction.
It wasn’t long before she finished getting ready and looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing a nice sexy red dress, which she wore with gold dangly earrings and a pair of gold heels.
She put on some perfume and ruffled her already curly hair, before she picked up her small clutch bag from the bed and made her way downstairs.
She stepped out of the house and saw one of Adrian’s personal drivers waiting outside patiently.
“Shall we get going ma’am?” he asked politely. Aria walked over to him and smiled,
“Yes and no need to be so formal, you can call me Aria” she said before she held the back of her dress down and climbed into the car, thinking the weather was finally getting better and the nights didn’t seem as chilly as they were before.
The driver gave her a small polite nod before he closed the door after her and drove her to the bar like club where the party was taking place.
Aria took out her phone from the pocket and decided to put her little plan into motion,
“You rang?” Adrian said the moment he answered her call. Aria held her phone against her ear and smiled,
“Yes, I just thought I’ll let you know that I wont be able to make it” she said quietly, not knowing how he would take it.
Adrian leaned back against his seat and helped himself to another glass of whiskey, not knowing this one was spiked with an unknown substance, that would make him do something he would never do in his right mind.
“What do you mean?” he asked before he rested his glass on his knee.
Aria could hear nice upbeat music playing in the background and people talking nearby.
“I won’t be able to come, as Jenna and I are already running a little late as it is” she said quietly, although she felt awfully bad for lying.
Adrian listened to her quietly, thinking to say he was disappointed was an understatement.
“I rather you come then not come at all beautiful” he said as she was the only person he wanted there.
Aria sighed,
“Then you should have told me days in advance, I’m sorry but I really need to go” she said before she ended the call and looked out of the car window, thinking she wanted Adrian to believe she wasn’t coming before she surprised him.
Victoria looked at Adrian as he quickly downed his alcoholic drink and asked the waiter to bring him another one,
“Aren’t you having a bit too many?” she asked him quietly, thinking it wasn’t like him to drink so much in such less time.
Adrian lit up a cigar and took a long puff of it, thinking the one person he really wanted there wasn’t there and that just showed how much she really cared.
He knew he was letting his emotions get the better of him and he wasn’t one to hold it against Aria, but he had really wanted her there, right by his side.
“You don’t worry about me” he said to Victoria, before he took a nice long puff of his cigar, drowning away every thought of Aria he had in his mind.
Victoria reached for his glass of drink that was resting on his knee and looked up at him with a serious look on his face,
“You will seriously regret this Adrian” she said with quiet a concerned look on her face, thinking it wasn’t like him to drink so much in one sitting.
Adrian felt his vision blur slightly but didn’t think much of it as he looked down at Victoria, her pretty greyish blue eyes, catching his attention almost instantly.
“Why are you so worried about me? Don’t you have better things to do” he said before he drank some more of his drink.
Victoria felt her heart skip a beat as he stared right into her eyes,
“Because I’m your friend why else, now give me this glass” she said before she reached for it again, thinking he was acting pretty strange already.
Adrian didn’t let go of his glass, instead he moved even more closer to her, until both of their knees were touching.
“Just a friend?” he asked with a small smirk on his face as he felt his head pound slightly. Victoria looked up at him,
“Yes, now please let go of this glass” she said quietly, although she had a feeling he wouldn’t listen.
Back with Aria she had just arrived at the bar like club where Adrian was having his little party. She stepped out of the car and made her way up to the entrance, thinking she couldn’t wait to surprise him.
The security guards who were standing at the door quickly let her in with no questions asked and another guy working there lead her up to the VIP room, as nice upbeat music played in the background.
Victoria forced the glass of drink out of Adrian’s hand and looked up at him with a serious look on her face,
“You need to stop drinking so much please” she said, wondering why he was acting this way as it wasn’t like him to drink so carelessly.
Adrian leaned closer towards her and glanced at her soft looking lips. He knew what he was about to do was wrong but couldn’t stop himself from doing it, no matter how hard he tried.
He reached for Victoria’s delicate neck and wrapped his hand around it firmly,
“One kiss won’t hurt anyone” he said quietly before he leaned down slightly and kissed her on the corner of her lips softly, making her eyes widen with shock and hurt.
If Victoria hadn’t acted fast and moved her face away, his lips would have definitely touched hers, instead they touched the corner of her mouth and cheek.
Aria felt her heart shatter to a thousand pieces, the moment she saw Adrian lean towards Victoria and kiss her on the lips. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, as she watched the man she loved, kiss someone else and break every promise he had made to her in a matter of seconds.
She felt the whole world collapse beneath her feet, making it awfully hard for her to stand. Hunter watched her from a little distance away, thinking the timing couldn’t be more perfect as he watched her fall to her knees.
The music was far too loud for anyone to hear her fall.
Victoria quickly pulled away from Adrian and looked at him angrily,
“This is why I kept telling you to stop drinking” she said with the hurt clear in her voice as she looked up at him, thinking how dare he try to make a move on her when she knew how much Aria loved him.
It didn’t take long for Adrian to realise what he had done as he looked at Victoria, thinking what the fuck was he thinking.
“Just leave” he said before he took another puff of his cigar.
Victoria shook her head and looked up at him,
“Wait until I tell Aria” she said and that was all she had to say before Adrian realised what a grave mistake he had made and felt the sudden wave of guilt overcome him, at just the sound of her name.
He quickly dropped his cigar he was holding down into the glass ash tray in front of him and stood up tall, feeling restless and deeply regretful.
“You won’t say a word” he said to Victoria, thinking how fucking stupid could he be.
Victoria stood up after him and looked up at him with a very serious look on her face,
“Either you tell her yourself or I will and that’s a promise” she said icily, thinking Aria deserved to know, no matter how much it affected their relationship.
Adrian had never seen Victoria speak to him in such a tone before and that alone told him that what he had done was disgraceful beyond words.
“There’s nothing to tell, now get out of my sight” he said and that was all he had to say before Victoria slapped him as hard as she could.
If he hadn’t been so drunk and intoxicated, he would have definitely been able to stop her hand from touching his face, but instead he looked down at her emotionlessly.
“You’re fucking unbelievable” Victoria said, and it was just then Aria walked over to them both, taking them both by surprise as they were not expecting to see her there at all.
