“I just woke up, is everything ok? Where are you?” she asked as she massaged her head with one hand, thinking her head wasn’t the only thing that was hurting.
She felt extremely tired and sore from all over her and knew it was because of their long wild night. Adrian leaned back against the wall and listened to her quietly,
“Jared’s been shot, could you come to the hospital as soon as you can, Brianna’s not in a good state” he said about Jared’s wife, thinking Aria would do a far better job at consoling her than he ever could.
Aria held onto her phone a little tighter than before and felt her heart ache with pain,
“I’ll be there” she said before she quickly ended the call and climbed out of the bed, thinking she had no time to waste.
She walked to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror, thinking first she needed to cover all the marks that were on her neck and around her collarbones.
She quickly brushed her teeth and washed her face before she covered all the visible marks on her body, thinking last night had been amazing.
Aria was about to change her clothes when her eyes fell on the dry fluid that was on her lower stomach. After getting ready she took her phone of the charger and walked out of the hotel suite, not expecting to see Hunter standing right outside.
“Could you take me to the hospital please” she said before she closed the door after herself, thinking now was not the time to question what he was doing there.
Hunter stood up nice and tall and looked down at her with a serious look,
“Of course,” he said, thinking even though she was dressed, he couldn’t get rid of the image of her lying half naked on the bed out of his mind.
Aria was wearing a nice pretty brown coloured shirt dress, which she wore with black simple flats. She had tied all of her long hair up in a messy ponytail and was wearing minimum make up.
Hunter opened the car door for her and watched her as she held the back of her dress down and got in quickly, his eyes falling on the back of her sexy legs.
It wasn’t long before they arrived at the hospital and quickly made their way inside. Aria rushed over to the Adrian the moment they reached the emergency department.
“How’s Jared?” she asked him quickly, with the concern clear in her soft voice.
Adrian turned around slowly and looked down at her with a serious look,
“He’s still in the theatre” he said quietly, thinking she had no idea how glad he was to have there. Aria looked up at him,
“Where’s Brianna?” she asked, after she realised that she wasn’t there.
Adrian gestured towards the far end of the room where Brianna was sitting with her head in her hands,
“She hasn’t said a word since I’ve come here” he said. Aria listened quietly,
“She’s probably in shock, I’ll go see how she is” she said before she quickly walked over to her.
She put a hand on her shoulder and looked down at her,
“Hey, are you ok?” she asked her quietly, before she sat down next to her and wrapped an arm around her, quickly getting all of her attention.
Brianna pushed her arm away and looked at her with her tears rolling down her face,
“Don’t touch me” she said icily, thinking how dare she walk over and pretend like she cared.
Aria slowly moved back and looked at her, not expecting her to push her away.
“I know you’re upset but trust me Jared will be ok” she said quietly, hoping she listened.
Brianna looked up at her and shook her head,
“I’m more angry then upset, if it wasn’t for you and Adrian, he wouldn’t be in that theatre room right now fighting for his life” she said with tears flowing down her face.
Aria listened quietly, thinking she didn’t blame her for reacting this way.
“I’m sorry for what’s happened, but just know that he will be ok” she said softly, hoping she didn’t tell her to leave.
Brianna looked at her with a serious look on his face,
“I never wanted him to go back to work, because of this very reason” she said before she wiped the corner of her eyes, feeling helpless and upset.
Aria moved closer to her and hugged her tightly,
“Everything will be ok” she said, and it wasn’t long before a consultant stepped out of the theatre and walked over to Adrian.
Adrian looked at him with a serious look on his face,
“How is he?” he asked quickly, without wasting any time.
The consultant looked back at him,
“We have retrieved the bullets from the body, but the next few hours are very crucial for his recovery. He has been put in a medical induced coma to rest his mind and body, but you may see him now if you want” he said politely.
Adrian listened to him quietly,
“Thank you” he said before he walked over to where Brianna and Aria were sitting.
Brianna quickly got up and looked up at him,
“What did the doctor say?” she asked. Adrian looked down at her with a serious look on his face,
“You can see him now” he said with a hand in pocket.
That was all he had to say before Brianna rushed into the room where Jared was recovering. Aria looked up at Adrian,
“Will he be, ok?” she asked quietly about Jared.
Adrian looked down at her with a serious look on his face,
“It’s too soon to say but I hope he makes it through” he said with the worry clear on his face.
Aria held onto his arm and looked up into his eyes deeply,
“I’m sure he will” she said before she wrapped both of her arms around him and hugged him tightly, thinking just when life seemed to be getting better again something bad had to happen.
Hunter watched them from a little distance away,
“Enjoy the little time you have together, because soon you wont be looking at each other the same way” he thought to himself.
