Chapter 102- United With Love
Chapter 102- United With Love
Aria and Adrian both flew over to North Carolina as quickly as they could and much to their dismay, they found out that Weston had suffered from a fatal gunshot wound to his chest with the bullet narrowly missing his vital organs.
He had survived but was put in a medical induced coma to rest his body and mind.
The next twenty-four hours were very critical, and all the close family members were told to prepare themselves for the worst, as his current statistics weren’t looking very good.
Adrian held Aria in his arms and tried his best to console her as she cried uncontrollably,
“Wake up dad please, we can’t lose you” she said as she took hold of Weston’s hand and kissed it softly, feeling helpless and weak.
Nate was hugging Gabriella who was upset but trying her best to be as strong as she could.
“Everything will be ok mom, dad will pull through” he said confidently before he kissed her on the top of her head softly.
Adrian had called all the best surgeons of the city to treat Weston, but something deep inside told him that even that wasn’t enough as he had lost a lot of blood, and there was a good chance he wouldn’t wake up from the coma.
“Aria please be strong” he said to her quietly as he held her face with both of his hands and looked down into her eyes, thinking Hunter was right when he said he had left some of his men behind to his dirty work.
Weston was standing outside in the front garden when an unknown vehicle had pulled up and aimed the gun at the adorable little girl he was holding in his arms.
He quickly turned around and took the bullet aimed for Lyla, making sure she didn’t even get a scratch on her body.
Gabriella and Nate had quickly rushed him to the nearest hospital and now all they could do was pray and hope for the best.
Aria buried her face in her dad’s shoulder and clung onto him with all her life, thinking they had all lost too much already and she didn’t have the strength to go through it all over again.
“Open your eyes dad please” she begged in the quiet white room, her helpless cries easily drowning out all of the medical machines that kept beeping in the background.
Adrian gently stroked her back and watched her cry her heart out. It broke him to see her like this and no matter what he said or did, it just wasn’t enough to make her feel better.
“He will be alright beautiful” he reminded her quietly before he looked down at Weston who looked like he was sleeping.
The following day passed in a blur and much to everyone’s relief Weston did wake up from the coma. He spent the next couple of weeks in hospital before he was allowed to go home and be with his family.
Adrian put everything on hold and made sure he was there for Aria and her family in any way he could. He thanked Weston for saving Lyla’s life and wasted no time in finding the person who had shot him, even if it meant putting his own life at risk.
It was after that incident he decided that both his family and Aria’s needed to live in the same city, somewhere where he could always keep an eye on both of their loved ones and protect them at all costs.
Hunter had already taken far too much from the Delgado and Silverstone’s, and even though he was dead, his men who were very loyal to him were still around, lurking in the shadows, ready to cause some more destruction over the years.
After Aria’s dad had been released from hospital, she decided to pay a visit to Rylan’s parents house as she felt like she owed them an apology for everything that had happened.
Adrian respected her decision and didn’t question or interfere in any way, as her past was her past and she didn’t owe an explanation to anyone.
It was after Aria visited Rylan’s parents’ house, they told her that he had left her a note, one they had been holding on to ever since he had been killed.
Aria opened the note a few days later when she was all alone and read it quietly,
“To Aria, I’m sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you over the years. I had never been the best partner, but my feelings for you were always real. I loved you more than life itself, but there wasn’t just two of us in that relationship. Travis and I had been very good friends ever since we met through work, but I had no idea he saw me more than just a friend. All those times you thought it was me who had tried to hurt your family, it wasn’t” it read in messy handwriting.
Aria felt her heart skip a beat as she continued reading, sitting in her old bedroom at her parents’ house.
“I know I hurt you many times and nothing I say in this letter will ever change the past but just know that I still love you the same as I did the first time, I met you. I’m sorry for following you to New-York, trying to get close to you at any given chance when it was clear you had moved on and was happy with your new man, although I must say I never thought you were the type to go for older men. That night at the Christmas party my intentions were not to cause any harm to you Aria, if anything I wanted to just watch you from afar as crazy as it sounds. It was only when that masked man stabbed you, I stepped out from the bushes and quickly came to your rescue. I couldn’t lose you. I’m writing this letter to you as I sit here in my apartment all alone. I hope you pull through and get to see your little angel. I know my days here are limited, which is why I wanted to write to you as quickly as I could. When you read this, I will already be gone, but don’t cry for me, as I’m not worth the tears. Take care of yourself and never stop smiling. Love from Rylan.” She read in her head quietly, with tears flowing from her eyes.
Rylan was killed unjustly, and it was all her fault. She read over his note a few times and cried each time, thinking she wasn’t wrong when she said life could be so cruel at times. Rylan may have been her first ever love but it was Adrian who had stolen her heart for eternity.
She wiped the corner of both of her eyes and held the note against her chest, thinking Travis must be Hunter, the guy who had ruined so many lives, just because of his obsession with Rylan.
She knew she would never be able to forgive herself for doing what she did and felt awfully guilty knowing that if it wasn’t for her, Adrian would have never told Hunter to kill Rylan.
A few days before Adrian and her were set to leave for New-York, she decided to visit his grave and apologise. She knew it was the only way she would feel a little bit better and be able to carry the weight of his words in his last letter on her shoulders.
She arrived at the cemetery nice and early and picked up a few fresh flowers along the way before she walked over to his grave which was a little distance away.
Aria gently placed the flowers she was holding in her hand on top of it and looked down at his gravestone,
“No words will ever be enough to express how I feel right now, but I just want you to know that I am very sorry. I hope you’re at peace wherever you are, and if you see my son tell him his mama loves him very much” she said softly with tears rolling down her face and blurring her vision.
Adrian watched her quietly from a little distance away, thinking she needed this closure more than she thought she did, to move on from everything that had happened.
He waited for her to finish before he pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly, as the nice early morning breeze blew around them both.
“Everything will be alright beautiful, you’re the strongest woman I know and I’m very grateful to have you in my life” he said before he kissed her on the top of her head softly, thinking even though their life may never be completely normal again, as long as they had each other they would be able to get through the toughest of storms.
Aria rested her head against his hard chest and looked up at him as he wrapped his jacket around both of her shoulders,
“Thank you for being so understanding, you’re truly one in a million and I love you so much” she said before she wrapped both of her arms around him and hugged him as tightly as she could, never wanting to let go.
They both hugged for a good long while before they made their way back to Aria’s parents’ house and said their goodbyes to everyone before they headed home to New-York with their little princess.
After getting rid of Hunter life once again become peaceful for the Delgado’s. Aria and Adrian got married at the end of that year and shared their special day with all of their close friends and family, before they went on a month-long honeymoon to a few different countries, with each one being better than the first.
Jared remained as loyal as he always was to Adrian and together him and Brianna had another child, a little boy who they named Ariel a name which Adrian always mocked as he said it sounded too feminine.
Aria’s friends Jenna and Miles welcomed their little boy just a few days after Aria’s wedding and named him Benjamin, but with becoming parents came a huge responsibility, one that affected their relationship.
Benjamin was almost three years old when they decided to split and co parent after they realised that they were happier apart. Miles and Jenna still loved each other but not in the way they had before they became parents.
Cengiz had changed a lot since Angela’s death and although he never had a serious relationship, he did date occasionally here and there to keep his mind of stuff.
Lucia and Aidan continued to live with him, and Lucia had once again started working for the Delgado company. Adrian had assigned her as the head of the marketing department, as despite their past, she was a good employee.
Victoria and Adrian remained friends and although Victoria saw him more than just a friend, she never let it on to anyone.
Aria’s older brother Aaron moved to another city with his pregnant girlfriend and distanced himself even more from the rest of his family.
Raya did end up finishing her education and had got a degree in teaching, whereas Nate had decided to become a professional basketball player, something he enjoyed doing.
Aria’s family all decided to move to New-York a couple of months after Weston made his full recovery and Adrian had bought them a nice small mansion as a way to apologise for everything they had been put through in the last few months.
Adrian told Aria everything about Chase and together they decided that they would adopt him legally. Chase agreed willingly and also went back to studying full time as he knew that Adrian had high hopes for him and for the future.
Rosalina’s deceased body was found at Hunter’s apartment shortly after he was killed and both Adrian and Aria made sure to give her the beautiful send-off she deserved.
Aria and Adrian’s relationship continued growing and despite their huge age difference they remained loyal to each other, no matter what life threw their way.
It was a few months after their wedding when Aria found out she was pregnant again, and this time it was planned. She gave birth to their second daughter on Christmas day and named her Angelina, after Angela and Rosalina, the two women whose life had been cut short because of one heartless selfish individual.
