Book 2 Chapter 15
Colton
I may be free now, but it’s not like I thought it would be. Not without Jenna here by my side. This was my punishment for being an asshole to my sister. For not protecting my mother, and anyone else my father hurt. My chest clenched, my throat closing in on me as I fought for air. I held onto my chest trying to gasp for air as Benjamin and I made our way to the bar. I didn’t know how I felt about facing the men who hated my guts. Everyone in this town should hold a grudge against me. Loathe me and damn me to hell for all eternity. Let the demons rip me apart and eat me alive.
“Why would they help me? They should be disgusted by me. Be repulsed by my presence.”
Benjamin came to a halt and turned to me. “They don’t hate you. You’re one of us now.”
We stepped into the bar and I felt my heartbeat quicken. It seemed like the entire football team was here. Everyone I’d gone to school with was standing around the pool table with a map of our town spread out on top. Benjamin cleared his throat, “Now that we’re all here, we can start breaking into groups. Jeff, Drew, Colton, and I will search the East side.”
A small voice from the end of the bar spoke, “I think I can help.”
Benjamin clenched his jaw at the sight of Chloe and Amber standing in the corner. “What the hell are you doing here?!”
Chloe stepped forward and stood nose to nose with him and pressed her palm against his chest. “I think I can help. Jenna mentioned Tommy wanting to take her away to a cabin once before. I think your best bet will to go to Riverton Lake Resort. That’s the only place with cabins in the woods. If he’s got her holed up in one of them, you’ll find her.”
Chloe turned to me and whispered in my ear. “You’ll let me know when you find her?”
“Of course.”
Benjamin, Jeff, Drew, and I took Drew’s truck to the lake and split up in two groups. Benjamin and I searched the East side, while Jeff and Drew searched the West side. For hours, we searched, but came up empty. Nothing but abandoned cabins were on the East side. They had yet to repair the cabins from the big storm that came through last year. The one’s on the West side were renovated just last month. So, there’s a good chance she might be there.
“Fuck!” Benjamin roared, punching the decayed wood of the cabin.
I remembered bringing Jenna here once to the woods about four years back. We stumbled onto private property and were forced to leave by some old man.
“I think I might know somewhere she might be. Follow me.”
I led Benjamin to the South and led him to an old trail. We walked up it and came to a clearing. In the distance, there was an old run-down cabin. I could dim lights illuminating through the windows. I turned to Benjamin and whispered, “Jenna and I found this place four years ago. I don’t know who owns it, but it was occupied back then. Maybe—”
“Look, there’s Tommy’s car. Let’s go. You go in the front and I’ll go in the back.”
I wiped the dust off the window at the front, and looked through the window. Oh, yeah, we were at the right place, that’s for sure. I could see Jenna sitting at a table with Tommy right next to her. I curled my lips in disgust as he touched her shoulder. I smiled when she jerked away from him.
*That’s my girl.*
I slowly opened the door and slid inside stealthily. This was something I learned from Javier. I looked to my right and grinned when I saw the gun. I wasn’t going to shoot him, but I wouldn’t give him the opportunity to use it. I picked it up and put it in the back of my pants. Just as I did, I heard Benjamin’s voice bellow through the room. “Tommy, Tommy, Tommy. Did you think you would actually get away with this? I know you’re crazy, but I didn’t peg you for being a stupid cunt. Grab him, boys.”
Tommy turned to run to the front of the cabin, but froze. I locked eyes on him and stalked towards him and gave him a sickening grin. His eyes widened and he stuttered. “N-no! You’re supposed to be in—”
“Prison.” I finished, “I know. Isn’t it sweet?”
“No!” he shook his head ferociously, “You’re ruining everything! It’s not supposed to be this way. You’re fucking it all up!”
“I agree. You see, here’s the thing, Tommy boy—Jenna is mine and always has been. I get out and I find out you’ve taken from me. You know what else?”
“What?”
“Even though, I was locked up, I heard all about you. The little psycho that killed his own mama all because she was going to have you committed. Poor little deranged Tommy boy.”
“Don’t talk about that. She was the crazy one, not me. I-I—”
“Look at that, I think he’s more than crazy. He’s completely off his rocker.” Benjamin chuckled as Jeff and Drew circled him.
I turned to Jenna and our eyes locked. Everything seemed to slow as I watched tears form in her eyes. I could hear Benjamin in the background telling the boys to restrain Tommy, but I didn’t care. My focus was on Jenna, the mother of my child. I walked slowly to her and knelt down, untying her wrists and whispered close to her ear. “Daddy’s home, sweetheart.”
“Colton, you’re here. Is this another dream?” Jenna asked as I picked her up gently.
She reached up and cupped my cheek and laid her head on my chest. So many nights I’ve dreamed of touching her like this. I pressed my lips against hers and swept my tongue across her bottom lip, deepening the kiss. I pulled away slowly and carried her out of the cabin. Away from where Tommy tormented her.
“It’s not a dream, sweetheart. I’m here and I’m never letting you out of my sight. I fucking love you. I love both of you.”
“Take me home, Colton and make love to me.”
“That’s the plan, babe.”
Tonight I would be making everything up to my girl. I was going to devour her. Inch by inch. With my mouth. Lick every part of her body. And then, I would hold her in my arms and fuck her like there’s no tomorrow
