Chapter 69 Don't Shoot

Chapter 69 Don't Shoot
A bike drove into a discreet place. The place many kilometers away from the busiest street of Canada.
He kicked the gear, and the bike stopped. He hopped down with it, sliding his pants into his pockets.
A man sat on a car, his legs on the bonnet while his back was to the biker. He wore a face cap to hide his face.
"Cassian," the biker called, huskily, his eyes darting around the place. "Hurry up, and sign the documents. Boss is waiting."
The man on the car chuckled, and jumped down from the car bonnet.
He faced the biker, face still hidden with the face cap.
The biker stared up to his height, noticing something strange. His finger found his gun.
"Cassian isn't here." He removed his face cap, and tossed it away. "Ziggy is."
"Shit, he played us." The biker pulled out his gun, and fired two bullets at Ziggy.
Ziggy ducked. "Wrong movement." He sent a punch to his lower abdomen. One, two.
The biker groaned, hitting the barrier on Ziggy's neck.
Ziggy stood straight and cracked his neck. "Now, that's a flex."
The biker attacked again. Ziggy curled his hands, and slammed his elbow right on his jaw.
The biker staggered. Using his other hand, he aimed for Ziggy's face.
Ziggy did a low knee bend, the biker's fist flying over him.
Rising back, he sent two punches right on the biker's face. One on the nose. The other on the lips. He elbowed the biker's hand until the biker's grip released on the gun.
Snatching it, he pointed the gun to the biker.
The biker's hand shot up in the air. "Don't shoot."
Ziggy smirked, wiping the blood off his lips. "I'd have loved to stay and chat a bit. Too bad, boss needs my arse right now." He shot the gun.
Blood splashed from the biker's body staining his black shirt as he landed on the floor with a heavy thud.
"Ah," he groaned, cracking his knuckles. "Feels good to kill again."
The sound of a ringtone made him pause.
He traced his gaze to where the sound was coming from and they landed on the biker's pocket.
He made a move. Few steps, and he was already with the biker's phone.
His eyes smiled when he saw the caller. Boss.
Clearing his throat, he placed his shirt over his mouth before answering the call.
"Yes boss," his voice sounded deeper, and scarier. "He signed the documents. I couldn't even recognize the great Cassian Reid. It almost looks as if all hope has been lost."
"Okay boss, I'm coming."
The line went dead. Ziggy burst out, holding his chest as he laughed himself out.
"What a fool!"
He got his mini connector from his pants, and put the only number that was there, saved as the letter, C.
"Boss, mission accomplished."
"Yeah, I'm on my way. Mission two, I'm set." He pocketed the connector and wanted to walk to his car when his mind twitched.
He looked at the bike, ditching his car immediately.
Walking to the back, he took out his knife, and stabbed the plate number. The plate number became instantly unrecognizable.
"The gangs are gonna get the car." He sat on the leather chair, and marched the brakes.
The bike hummed to life. Not giving the dead body a glance, he drove away, at the craziest speed limits.

A bike and a car drove from both directions, at an insane speed. From an angle it looked like they were coming for each other with the maddest intention of colliding with full force.
That's what the eyes pictured because when they got to each other, they both stepped on the brakes. Both vehicles came to a sharp halt. The exhaust smoke escaped their pipes covering the cloud with black smoke.
The car door opened sharply and Cassian alighted from it. His clothes, and eyes hooked on the factory miles away. Together he looked like the devil ready to hunt down a prey who thought it's a predator.
"That ride was so sharp!" Ziggy yapped, climbing off the bike.
"Where are the rest?"
One car rode with a sharp stop. Two men stepped out, both wearing the same matching outfits—black.
"We're here."
Cassian didn't turn to them before speaking. His voice devoid of every string of emotions in him. It's been long since he did something like this. The thrill he always gets whenever he hunts worthless dogs like them, but this time it was a raging thrill.
Starting his day with their blood would have been exciting if they had taken their regular, every time he's hunted, but this time, it's his prized possession.
"No matter how dark it gets in there, her life first."
"Roger that!"
The last two men took the lead first. It will take a few steps before they get to the factory. Parking at the front would alert the kidnappers.
Ziggy stood beside Cassian. "I have the flare with me, but...will that be enough to—"
"Even without the flare, I've never gone down, and it wouldn't start today." He scanned the area. "She should come out of there, alive or alive."

\[MERIDIAN FACTORY\]
Natasha sat on a bed in another room, scrolling through old photos of her, Cassian and Dante.
Cassian might have destroyed her phone, but she has a backup, and the backup already had her previous details making it look less like a new photo.
Her fingers froze on the picture where she pecked Cassian's cheeks.
His expression brought a small smile to her lips, as she recalled the exact way she had taken that picture. It was unplanned. The normal Cassian would never allow that kind of picture so she had to take him unawares, and it worked.
"Not even the universe can separate us. We are made for each other." She leaned forward wanting to peck his lips.
Before her lips could touch the screen, Roman came into her room.
She shut her eyes in deep frustration, feeling like killing him for interrupting her sweet moment.
"What do you want?" She snapped coldly, swiping to the next picture.
"Our plan is working. Cassian has signed the documents."
Natasha looked away from the phone screen and straight to him. "That easy?"
Roman smiled. "Guess he's come to terms that in this game, I am the gamer."
Natasha shook her head. "I think something is wrong."
"What could be wrong? I spoke with—"
"What did the person say? I'm sure Cassian must have relayed a message to him."
Roman thought about the conversation. "He said Cassian looked almost unrecognizable. Pathetic. Hopeless—"
"Not that," Natasha cut him off, going to her feet. "Anything else?"
Roman hummed negatively. "That's all."
"This isn't like Cassian."
"What isn't like Cassian?" Roman crossed to her front. "That Cassian can't sound pathetic and hopeless? Situations make people sound that way. It humbled people. A man who just lost his empire, and...lover is meant to be in that state no matter the position—"
"Can you keep quiet!?" Natasha scolded. "I've been friends with Cassian over a decade. Even in the worst situation, he has never accepted defeat. He wouldn't give up his properties like that for an agreement that was even planned. He—" she gasped, realization settling in on her.
"Roman, we have to leave here!"
Roman became confused. "Leave! What the hell are you talking about!?"
"Don't ask me questions and act! This factory... Lalissa! Get her, Cassian is coming here!"
She reached for the door. Roman grabbed her elbow and faced her to himself.
"Who are you to tell me what to do!? For all I could remember you're not the boss of me! This idea was mine. Mine!"
Natasha's hand went down to his waist, and in a flash, she took out the gun strapped to his waist.
Turning the gun to him, she pressed it to his chest, holding death glaring gazes with him.
"If you want to leave here with your dick still between your legs, then you'll listen to me!" She sounded venomous. "Ask your stupid men to get Lalissa. Ensure all the lights are switched off. Every single one of them. We're leaving this place. Now!"
