Chapter 80 Eighty
Chapter 80 Eighty

I visibly jumped, the Prince digging his nails into my hip as he held me still, had he heard the whole thing? Would he punish us just for talking? We hadn't said anything, knowing that we had no say in it, but we can think that it is wrong without it being classed as defiant right? Both Vincent and I remained silent, not sure how to respond or what to say in our defence.
“I will remind you both that I will always be present, I will always know when you are lying and sneaking conversations you think that no one can hear.” He growled within both of our minds before rising suddenly to his feet and throwing me over his shoulder as he motioned for Vincent to follow.
Victoria noticed us first, watching me closely as Silas walked casually towards the door. “Leaving so soon my Prince?” she asked.
“I am taking the witch to her room; I will return shortly.” He snapped as he ragged the door open, not bothering to turn around as he began storming down the hall, my stomach bouncing against the hard muscles of his shoulder.
I glanced at Vincent through my lashes, his eyes burning a hole in the back of the Prince’s head, he was furious, but like me, he knew better than to speak up. Or should I say he knew his place better than I did. We reached what I knew to be my chamber, my master motioning for the Phantomhive to enter first before following him in, slamming the door shut with the back of his boot.
Silas slammed me onto the bed hard enough that I bounced, almost catapulting off the side, yet managing to catch myself on the post at the last second. I stumbled to my feet at the opposite side, ensuring that the bed was between the prince and I, praying that it would be enough distance should he lash out.
“I expected you to disobey me, Fraulien. But it will not be you alone who suffers.” said the prince of vampires, his tone dark and harsh as he rounded to bed, slowly backing me into a corner.
I slipped a panicked glance towards Vincent who stood with his hands clenched, desperately wanting to intervene; though at the same time, knowing that he couldn’t.
“I-I didn’t, I did everything you said.” I whispered, trying to force my voice to appear level. “I obeyed.”
“Did you?” He asked, tilting his head to the side as my back smashed into the wall behind me. “I remember saying that you weren't to enter anyone’s mind in that meeting unless I ordered it.”
My eyes widened as the realisation hit me, I had unknowingly been defiant. I had tried having a sly conversation with Vincent thinking that he wouldn’t hear that he couldn’t have known. I was wrong. Our mind-link meant he could hear my projected thoughts, sometimes when they weren't directed at him. How could I have been so stupid?!
I shook in apprehension utterly terror-stricken as Silas slammed his hands into the wall at either side of my shoulders, practically pinning me in place. I didn’t want Vincent to pay for my mistake, I didn't want him to suffer because I had chosen to disobey.
“W-wait.” I stammered, “I-it wasn’t Vincent’s fault, I sent the first message. I was worried and scared.”
The Prince laughed, long and loud. “I warned you that you would receive no more chances from me, that you would pay for any defiance and so would he.”
“I will take her punishment as well as my own.” Muttered Vincent, his voice strangely even and strong; my mind instantly wanting to comfort him as I felt the pain behind his words. “In whatever form you deem necessary for our blatant defiance.”
“You are in no position to negotiate SLAVE.” Silas barked viciously, though his tone became slightly amused with a sharp edge the next time he spoke. “If I didn’t know any better, I would believe you care for the witch.”
Vincent growled but before either of us could react, the Prince raged my head to the side and violently pierced the flesh with his fang, tearing deeper than was needed before pulling back his head and licking his lips. I groaned in pain, my body collapsing forward into him.
The prince caught me with ease, spinning me around so that I could see my friend, and so that he could see the blood oozing from my neck; the smell filling the chamber. I could see the Phantomhive beginning to struggle, his eyes locked onto my neck as his fangs pushed into his bottom lip. I realised with a sudden jolt of my body that Silas would have starved Vincent, and the temptation of fresh blood would soon overtake his need to protect me. His deadly nature would always win.
“No! Vincent you must fight it, please you must!" I cried, tears forming in my eyes as I tried to fight against the Prince’s hold on me; my body trembling as weak from the wound at the base of my neck. “Master please don’t do this!”
Vincent was visibly shaking, attempting to force himself not to react, he began to back away, forcing some distance between us as he struggled to regain control. Why was Silas doing this?! Growling in annoyance, the Prince dragged me along as he rounded the bed, throwing me into the ground at my friend's feet, the blood still dripping from my neck. I glanced up, able to see the physical strain on the vampire’s body as he snapped his gaze away from my neck.
I knew that Vincent was going to lose the fight with his own body, I knew that the unnatural hunger would take over and he would attack me, and I had nowhere to go. Silas appeared behind me, dragging me back to my feet and slamming me into Vincent’s chest as he laughed barbarically, knowing that he would win.
“Please don’t do this Silas!” I screamed as I struggled against his hold. “Please I will obey, we both will!”
