Chapter 77 Seventy seven

Chapter 77 Seventy seven
Silas PoV

It was about time my people learned what it truly meant to be loyal to me, I could take any of them down without a second thought, and I wouldn’t think twice about it. Luna is mine, and she will always be mine. They have no right to her, no one does.

I locked her away because I needed her to obey me. I needed her to see that her rebellious attitude could not continue, and it seems to have worked, for now. But I’m not foolish enough to believe that it will be for long.

Luna is strong willed. Too strong willed for a lowly witch.

But there is something about her, something that calls to the deepest parts of my soul and holds her there.

I want to keep her next to me, even though I do not fully understand the reasons why.

She is mine. I won’t allow anyone to take her from me.

The room falls silent, too silent, these people are my closest allies, but I’m still not sure that any of them can be trusted with this information. If my father learns of luna’s existence, all hell would break loose and I’d be fighting a war on more than one front.

I’m confident that Luna would lead me to victory, but she still had a long way to go before I can fully trust her, and she needs more time to train. She isn’t ready to face a war, but she will be soon, I’ll make sure of it.

“You all know me very well.” I say carefully, my voice smooth like the silk gown Luna is wearing. “You know that I would not risk any of your lives unless I needed you. So you must trust me when I say that Luna is here because we need her to be.”

“We do not need a sunlight witch.” Frey Octavian growls, standing from his chair and stepping forward, “if the king hears of this, it’ll be the death of us all! Do you really want to fight your own father because of one witch? We are not ready for that scale of war!”

Ezio steps forward to block Frey, “that witch saved my life. I’d be dead if it weren’t for her.” He says coldly. “She deserves the chance to live and to fight along side her master. She is an asset.”

I smile, Ezio always jumps to my aid, wherever we are, and whatever I choose to do, he is right there along side me. Always. I should be grateful for that, but a part of me is jealous about the way he speaks of Luna. Does he care for her now? He shouldn’t. She’s mine.

She’ll always be mine. He should stay out of it, I can handle this myself.

To my surprise Frey backs down and sits back in his chair, “I do not think this is a good idea.” He murmurs, looking around the room.

He’s searching for someone to agree with him, and in his eyes, anyone will do. He needs a second to back him up, maybe a third. But no one else speaks. Good. They know their place.

I turn to look at Luna who trembles where she is knelt, a part of me wants to comfort her, but a larger part is jealous of the hope bright in her chest when she thinks of Vincent. Is she in love with him because he saved her?

I have saved her before, from Berus. But she doesn’t love me. I’m pretty sure she hates me and I don’t know why that bothers me so much.

I shouldn’t care, but I do.

Victoria looks at Frey, “I agree with you. We should dispose of her before this gets out of hand.” She turns to me. “Surely you see the problem with keeping a sunlight witch alive?” She looks at Luna in disgust. “This is wrong. She should be dead.”

“I am not going to kill my biggest asset because her powers make some of you uncomfortable.” I say, my voice harsh and cold. “You all need to learn some loyalty if you are going to continue to be a part of this council. I will not tolerate any defiance.”

“Are you threatening us?” Frey asks, voice full of disbelief.

“I am simply saying that you cannot continue to question my authority or my choices.” I grind out, slowly losing my patience.

I cannot believe these people, I have kept them safe and with money for many years, and this is how they repay me. They are not just disloyal, they are on the verge of treason.

And I will not put up with that.

“I am not going to destroy the witch.” I say, placing my hand on her bowed head. “If anyone has a problem with that then you know where the door is.”

Anyone who disagrees can leave, and then I will destroy their entire bloodline.
