“But I grow to like what we do; it's not an honorable job, but I like that we make women happy. It was fun; you get beautiful women, free pussy anytime you want, and the pay was great.”
He shrugged. “What's not to like, besides that, so off-topic,” he adds with a humorless chuckle.
It was. I could guess the rest of his thoughts, somehow all of it had gotten old, the endless pussy, the fun, the jumping from client to client.
It was no longer fun but tedious and exhausting.
The women, some not all—either become so entitled and clingy or they fall hard and it was always hard explaining to them that you didn't feel the same, that they weren't special in the sense you were to them.
It's like they'd completely forgotten the rules or that we were cock for hire. All these reasons were why we decided we should retire.
We have gotten everything we need from the job, we can live a comfortable lifestyle for the rest of our lives.
We have investments and few properties to our names, it was all we ever hoped for. Gianna was supposed to be our last client and she was so different from the others.
“I don't want you to lose the woman you love, I don't want to add that to the things I robbed you of.” He frowned.
“You didn't rob me of anything, you idiot, and I don't love her,” I deny.
He snickered.
“Yeah, right, If I'm an idiot, then you are a fucking moron. You think I don't know you, that I don't see it? You're in love with Red, fucking admit it,” he replied, green eyes dark with emotions.
“I will admit it when you stop lying to yourself and admit you love her too fucker.” He shakes his head.
“What does it matter if I love her or not? I don't think she likes me, and after what she found out about me, I don't stand a chance with her, but you do. If I tell her the truth, she'll understand. At least, then, you can get the girl you love,” he insisted. I shake my head.
“Say, I get the girl, what are you gonna do? Watch me be happy and probably have kids with the only woman who has managed to kickstart your stubborn heart?”
“Why not? Who knows?” he shrugged. “I might find happiness with another woman, too,” he said with a grin that didn't touch his eyes. Fucking idiot, I don't know who he's trying to bullshit but it wasn't me.
It would take a miracle for him to love another woman. I know him better than anyone. Maybe in another ten years, he could. What he doesn't know, though, is that he and I are a package.
While I love Gianna so much, I grin at the relief of finally admitting it to myself, I would never be able to live with her without him.
If she gives me a chance and that's a big if. I would make sure it's for the both of us, I will remind her of how good it is between us three. I don't mind sharing her with my brother, we've shared the same womb, and sharing the same woman should be as natural, too.
I wanted the same happiness for him as I do for myself. While we didn't set out to fall for the same woman there's no reason why we can't both be with her.
I'm amazed at how these thoughts feel so natural and freeing. True, it's not conventional but screw that, who cares as long as we are all happy.
In fact it's a good idea that we love the same woman, and if, God forbid, anything happens to either of us. She would have one man by her side loving her and protecting her and our kids.
Fuck I can't believe I'm thinking of all this when she didn't even know how we feel. I'm delusional and setting myself up for heartbreak, but I can't seem to stop.
“What the hell?” Ruin yelled, reminding me that we weren't alone, hadn't been alone right from the start. He was suddenly parking the car by the roadside.
“What is it?” I asked moving to get out after he and Dane hurriedly got out. I hurried to catch up, but there was a considerable crowd in the middle of the road. As I waded between them, I realized a man was lying on the road.
Even before Dane reached out and touched him, we all knew he was dead, and when I saw his face. Blood drained from my face. My chest suddenly feels so tight. For the first time, I wish that gut feeling I had was wrong.
Gianna is in danger!
“Has anyone called the cops?” Ruin asked the crowd.
“I already called 911, they're already on their way,” a young woman replied.
“Did anyone see what happened here?” Dane asked.
“I saw everything, I had a flat tire,” an elderly man said, pointing at his Audi.
“At first I thought it was just an accident when a bus hit the SUV this man was driving. He was the driver, but then three men got out of the bus and removed the body of the man.
He was already dead by then, there were more people in the car, though I don't know how many. I thought I saw two women, but I couldn't be sure.”
The old man was talking about Gianna, fear for her almost choked me, but now wasn't the time for me to panic. Anger was the dominating emotion inside me right now.
