Chapter Seven
Chapter Seven
I pour warm water in one of the bigger bowls, get a dishcloth and head for the lounge. He’s still seated the way I left him. I bend next to him, put the basin in front of him, he reaches and washes his hands, takes the table cloth and wipes them dry as quickly as possible. A part of me feels that he is shocked by all this but his face and body language doesn’t show. I leave for the kitchen. He is a tad quiet than usual. I come back carrying a tray with a plate of all the food I’ve cooked, a glass of vampire blood and some chillies, I don’t even know if he eats them, or any of the things I cooked.
I’m not sure whether I should join him or let him eat alone and have my dinner when he’s gone. But then again, this is my house, I’m gonna go sit next to him with my plate. He’s already eating when I settle next to him.
“So what do you do for fun?” I ask.
“Baseball.”
Oh good, I thought he was going to say hunt and kill witches or something.
“With?”
"Any of the seven sons thats up for game,” he says.
“Sure?”
“I’m not dating anyone if that’s what you’re asking,” he says.
“Okay, that ’s better,” I blurt out.
He laughs out loud.
“I hope you’ll be cooking for me every day, I’ve never had food this good,” he says.
I blush, and immediately remember that this guy is still trying to get me to be his mate, he’ll say anything to make me happy.
“I mean it,” he says, as if he read my mind and discovered my doubts.
I want to know more about him.
“So when you’re not in the quater your brother guards the territory for you?”
“Sort of, but Taylor is there most of the time as well,” he says.
“Taylor?”
“Yep, the second prince,” he says.
That's three brother's now.
“No talk of a sister?” I ask.
“There hasn't been a female born in my family in over a century,” he says.
Huh? Weird.
“Well, I only have one brother,” I say.
“Where are your parents?” he asks.
“Mother died giving birth to me, Dad turned to his wolf form in grief, he hasn't managed to turn back yet,” I say, trying to surpress any emotion from my voice. "He lives in wild now, as an animal."
“How old are you?” he asks.
“Seventeen, good to know there’s something you don’t know about me for a change. And you?”
“Nineteen. You’re beautiful,” he says. He is so random.
The next thing we know it’s midnight, he has to go and I have to clean up before I go to sleep. I walk him to the door. He walks out but turns and stands at the doorstep, me inside and him outside. He looks at me, his hands in his pockets and says “I’ll see you in the morning,” before turning and walking away.
Let me conclude that he is shy, let me just do that.
I hear the wind swirl the leaves as the dragon takes leaves at the same time my phone vibrates. Where is my phone anyway? I still have to dump someone before I sleep.
“I miss you already,” the text reads.
I wish he’d come back, but I won’t say it.
“I hope you enjoyed the food and yes, I can cook for you every day if you want,” I respond.
“Goodnight. I love you”.
I ’m not responding to this one.
Now for that app I need to sign up to, I quickly put on my details then pay the joining fee, I'm approved within seconds. I give them Finn's number and then put my phone on silent and go to sleep.
I ’m woken by constant banging on the door.
What? At four in the morning? I check Scott. He isn't in his bed. It doesn't look slept in and his scent is fading. He isn't home.
I put on my robe and walk to the door but first I peep through the window, the dragon is outside, roaring.
“Danielle it’s me’” says a voice from outside.
Now I’m creeped out.
I open the door, then the burglar guard. He steps in and grabs me by the waist, pulls me towards him, and kisses me.
It’s been a month since that kiss that was an official stamp on my third prince's mate status. But I haven’t set foot at the Royal Palace like the other mates to the rest of the seven sons.
I've been taken to work in a dragon and picked up in the same manner and brought the most expensive lunch on The Eat's menu and I can confidently say I'm in love.
This afternoon as usual he is at my house.
“When are you coming to the Palace?” he asks.
He is random like that, you just never know what he's going to ask next.
I hesitate a little. I had forgotten that I don’t know where he lives. Not exactly.
.
“I could come this weekend? ”
“Tomorrow after work?” he says.
It's Wednesday today by the way, I had forgotten.
“Yep that’s fine with me, plus I’m off on Friday anyway,” I say.
I still worry though about when he does his work. He told me he is at the quater by 4am every day so I shouldn’t worry about his work, he gets lunch hours too. Since then I’ve heard of three more brothers, Nick, Xavier and Alan. I’ve never met any of them besides those three at my restuarant but I know they’re all 'watching me'.
There’s been phone calls when I’m around and I’ve seen the fondness on his face when he speaks to them.
And I have been cooking ever since which has been followed by kissing and cuddling. I’m happy with that. But tomorrow could change everything.
Oh and I told Scott about my 'dragon princess' escapades, he says I need a prayer, plus a exorcism plus holy oil plus a psychologist. I’m ignoring him on that subject.
