Ruth is hiding something

Santiago left the room after he made sure that she was calm, he called Andrew into his office. "Something is wrong, Ruth is hiding something." He muttered they were speaking in hush tones so others wouldn't hear what they were talking about.

"What is she hiding?" Andrew asked.

"I have no idea but I think it has something to do with Sofia. She told me Sofia said she'll be staying with her friend until this thing cools down but Sofia has no friends here and that's not how my sister is. She is someone who faces problems with her head held high, she wouldn't coward away because we have a hunch that Mateo knows my identity."

"If that's the case then I think someone is blackmailing her, she doesn't want to say anything to us because she is scared of what might happen if she doesn't obey them."

"I saw her crying, which confirms that she is being blackmailed and if something has happened to Sofia and they contacted Ruth instead of us it means they are going to ask her to go to where Sofia is. We should act as though we have no idea about this and wait until they call her again."

"I'm going to put a tracker on her, this way it would be easy to locate them in case they ask her to go to their hideout."

While Andrew and Santiago were coming up with their theory and drawing their plans, Sofia who had been unconscious for a few hours just regained consciousness.

"Who are you and what do you want from me?" Sofia asked, she tried to move her hands but they were bound with robes. "Tsk tsk tsk tsk." She glared at the people in front of her. "Let me guess, this isn't a kidnap for ransom." She smirked.

The three men who abducted her looked at each other surprised, they didn't expect that she'd say that and she was correct.

"Where is Mateo? Is he done sucking up to my brother and kissing his feet? Is this some new tactic to get to Robert?" She continued.

"I'll advise that you shut up before you make things worse." Some of them said.

Sofia scoffed, she leaned into her seat and stared at them dead in the eyes, "Why should I shut up? Did I spill out any lies from my lips?"

"Yes you did, you said a lie the moment you called your brother Robert, Miss Sofia De León," Mateo answered walking in, his hands were shoved into his trouser pocket, and the first three buttons of his shirt were left unbuttoned.

"You see I've been wondering how your brother was able to conceal his identity but now I get it. He used Robert Pattinson as a disguise, he used his company as a cover-up business. His plan was perfect, perfect until he started doing business I'm his house." Mateo smirked.

"Oh, you don't look surprised that I know your brother's true identity." Mateo chuckled.

"Do you want to know how I found out? I'll tell you anyways." He pulled a seat and sat in front of her.

"A few days ago while I was heading to his place to discuss the home for all projects, I saw one of his men leaving his house. You see I've dealt with his men enough to recognize them at first glance. I was wondering why this guy visited Robert, I decided to investigate Santiago De León and I found out that the house you are living in belongs to a certain Santiago De León who died years ago."

"You know I was wondering, did he come back to life? No, he didn't, because Santiago De León of the past was my father's enemy, I also found out that he had an adopted son and a daughter. Luckily my father kept everything about your father in his safe."

"I'm such a fool, You should have gone to his safe and see if I could find anything concerning Santiago but it never crossed my mind." He laughed.

"Ruth was my target, I had my eyes on that one for a long time but I was wondering how to get her without spoiling my plans to get on Robert's good book. Finally, I can do that, I can have her all to myself, and your brother is going to rot in hell when I'm done with him."

Sofia laughed hysterically, her laughter was taunting and nerve-cracking. "Mateo, Mateo, Mateo... Tsk," she clicked her tongue "you are dumber than I thought, you are such a fool."

"You think you can take her away from my brother? The same person who has worked in the underground world for decades but has never been caught? The same person who killed someone at a very young age? The same person who has beaten you in so many ways? That's the person you want to mess with?" She laughed even more.

"Shut up, shut the fuck up!" Mateo yelled. "Tie her fucking mouth." He ordered. Sofia's mouth was tied with a cloth.

"Where is her phone?" Sofia's phone was handed to him. "Unlock your phone." He ordered. Sofia gladly did as she was told. Mateo freed her one hand and she typed in her password, Mateo called Ruth.

Ruth who was holding her phone waiting for their call jumped when her screen flashed. Santiago who was lying next to her on the bed acted as though he didn't see her, he was pretending to be asleep.

Ruth rushed to the bathroom and answered the call. "Sofia, are you okay? Where did they take you?"

"Sorry to burst your bubbles honey but Sofia isn't the one talking," Mateo said Ruth can never forget Mateo's voice.

"Mateo, what do you want? Why is Sofia with you?" She angrily asked.

"Oh, calm down little lamb. If you want to see Sofia, come to the address I'll send. I don't want you to get hurt so you don't have to come here this evening, but be here by tomorrow morning. And, nobody should know about this Ruth, no one should know that Sofia is with me and no one should know that you are coming here."

He disconnected the call after giving her the instructions.
